Well i think I have screwed up beyond repair.Yesterday I had sucessfully rooted my new s4 that came with VRUAMDK. just rooted no custom roms or anything. I then loaded Titanium backup and froze the verizon update app. Installed Goo Manager and made a nandroid backup with TWRP.
Today I froze the Weather widget app among others. Decided I wanted the weather widget back, so I defrosted it. It WOULD NOT come back. So I defrosted everything. Still no weather widget. Then I thought I would just unroot and go back to stock. Followed Dark Menace's Pm instructions and followed them to the letter. When I rebooted from using superSu to unroot. I noticed a notifcation that a software update was available, obviously it was since it was unfrozen. I did not click it. But a few seconds later my phone reboots into recovery mode with TWRP I thought that was very strange. Upon completion, and booting it said "Android is being updated" Well at that point I was sick! Sure enough now I'm at VRUAME7.
What can I do? probably nothing correct?
Oh and a few minutes after all this a popup said "software update failed to complete nothing was changed" or some-such. But I'm still at me7 and I have a unlocked padlock on bootup
Lesson learned don't screw with it if it aint broke!
Oh I STILL don't have my weather widget back.
I appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
EDIT:
I'm not really broke about being on ME7 its just that I wish I could get rid of the padlock on boot and wipe all the backups (nandroid) just in case the phone dies. At this point it will just be a paperweight.
Would a wipe data/factory reset at least get me all the way onto me7? I seem to be stuck somewhere in between.
Here's where I'm at now

Fixed!
Flashe VRUAME7 stock restore --> booted up with padlock --> rebooted in recovery mode --> wipe cache --> booted without padlock! Now at ME7 with no update errors --> did factory reset to get rid of all the twrp and TiBU files. So at least it is working fine now.
Thanks for all the info on the site!

No matter which FroYo Release I try, "Fix-permissions" doesnt seem to work properly. Regardless of what i try, it only fixes permissions for the CWM app itself. So its shows two lines of text for CWM, and its done. Any one know why this is happening?
Ps- I've tried completely un installing CWM and deleting its folders and everything associated with it but to no avail. I'm out of ideas...

I take it that everyones ClockWork's "Fix-Permissions" works perfectly fine? Any input would be nice. THanks
You need to get into the actual clockwork recovery and fix perm there. So, open ROM manager, select reboot into recovery, select re-install packages, clockwork recovery should boot up, then goto advance options at the bottom of the list and select, then you should see the fix perm option about half way down the list, select it and your done.
I have the same problem. I'm thinking it's to do with CWM needing to be updated for the vibrant. Since there is no current 2.2 official/supported release it will not be updated as of yet. I haven't contacted koush(dev), but I'm sure he knows.
Even if you do go directly into CWR you can select it, but it doesn't seem to scroll the script...
I am using the stock Froyo eugene posted and I am not having any problems with ROM manager or CWR. I have done two backups with ROM man and wiped cache, dalvik cache, and fix permissions in CWR and it worked. I even got the fix permissions log on my SD card.
This must be it, because same thing happens if i try from the recovery. Is there anyone that can get fix-permissions to actually run the entire script? Would be nice to know if its a select few, everyone, or just us two

Im also experiencing this. Im running AOSPish froyo.
.... Every time I reboot or just booting up. Anyone having this issue? It doesn't affect anything other then making it a couple more seconds longer to get to my home screen. This started happening after. 28 update.

Nope. Wiped data before updating. Figured it would be best to give the update a fresh start.

Yep, getting the exact same thing on every reboot, seems to cause a delayed boot, im on the latest androwook, did all the wipes on twrp recovery and everything, its a bugger, as it slows down my bootup.
Doesnt seem to be a solution, ive tried a dalvik and cache wipe but the problem persists, ill go as far as saying that doing a dalvik wipe is what initiates it, as i dont ever remember getting it, when ive restored my apps through titanium, essentilly installing the apps as if ive installed them individually over a period of time
Ive been restoring the data portion (apps, widgets, settings, launcher) from my latest twrp backup after every rom flash.........always comes back when i do it that way, reckon i backed up the *issue* aswell.
I think its got to do with something on that side of things, a script or something not getting updated to reflect that the scan was already done *shrugs*
Started happening to me after I did a custom rom install. Any of you guys go back and forth between stock and custom? Still a newb at this but maybe Asus knows and there's something it can't update?
Hey guys,
Pretty desperate here, and I've been searching the forums and other pages on the web for a solution, but nothing yet.
I'm afraid I did something pretty stupid. I wanted to update Gmaps, but Play Store gave me the 'not signed correctly, please delete older version' message. So I tried to uninstall the old Gmaps through Settings, but that didn't work.
Than I had this 'brilliant' idea to just hardcore delete Gmaps through Titanium Backup. Well, I did and... BOOM! Black screen, a short boot loop and after that... nothing.
I took out the battery for about 15 minutes and placed it back in, and now I get this weird message saying 'WTSR/SMPL'.
Phone won't start up in Recovery, only Download mode.
Somebody can help me out here?

Flash a stock rom in download mode with Odin, clean slate. Then re-root your phone & you can restore a backup (if you have one).

Thanks for your response so quick, appreciate it.
BTW, are you sure there is no other way? Did you see this WTSR message before?
No probs. No, I've never seen it. But thinking logically; you have no recovery, the phone won't boot normally & you can only get into download mode. You don't really have any other option other than the one I suggested, do you ?

Not sure. The weird thing is: when I press the home button repeatedly, the screen starts flickering from white to black and back. So there's still something alive, don't you think?
After trying for hours to flash a new rom and do a factory reset on the phone I gave up. I managed to restore a factory one but it did the same thing.
So I was trying to copy files from the gusto 2 and I am guessing I copied a wider range than what I was supposed to. I copied a range NV items over to the HTC from the Gusto 2 but after rebooting and deactivating airplane mode (I was able to go to settings at this point) it tried to connect and it just rebooted instead. After that, it kept rebooting once it reached the welcome screen.
I was able to follow various tutorials on how to flash roms and it would complete successfully, once that was done the rom would load, in this case 'Viper4G_3.1.7" and it would take time at the animation screen and then reach home screen, after that the three bottom lights would glow and the phone just crashes and stays there forever, no reboot or anything, just cashed, after a hard reboot it would not reach home screen but get stuck at animation screen and crash there as well. First, the bottom lights would glow and then short after it would stop animating indicating a crash. I'm running twrp 2.6.0.0 jewel.
Any ideas of why this is happening; I'm assuming those NV files get replaced unless the roms don't touch those files. I did a full wipe and then install from internal, and tried external sd as well. Both appear to be doing the same thing.
Here is a pic of my bootloader screen:

So I'm guessing everyone is clueless about this version? As you can see I'm s-off and viper4G can be installed s-on. Everything installs smoothly but I can't get it to boot properly.
I'm thinking since you're S-off you can try running VipeRUU, which will return your phone back to completely stock, locked & S-on. I would try that and start over.

I was able to load a stock RUU and I know this because it loaded up like before but it does the same thing. Just boot loop of death. and I meant to say that I'm s-on. I tried DirtyRacun and got to the step where the RUU is loaded and unlock the phone. after that, it rebooted to the phone and it just boot looped as you can see on the video, making me unable to finish the last step which is to activate babyracun by activating usb debugging and running the command using Ubuntu. http://youtu.be/XTLXG26lK68
I tried to install the Jelly Bean's build 22 rom today. I backed up, did factory reset, and then I began the rom installation. I was able to go through the beginning and select the things I wanted to install and now it is still stuck on the Installing screen. It says:
Installing... 0.0% Formatting/system partition
It isn't frozen because the progress bar is flashing green .
It has been stuck like that for over an hour! What should I do?
Here is a screenshot of the exact same spot im stuck at

Awesome! Thank you so much it worked great this time! I'm still new to this and I wasn't sure if pulling the battery would brick my phone or something. I didn't think it would but I rather be safe. Thanks again
