Hi
I am a LG Nexus 4 user. I recently updated my os to Android 4.3 from 4.2.2 JB. I am noticing that most of my battery is sucked by android os. In particular Keep Awake sucks the battery of my Nexus 4. Is there any way to work around this issue? Any other 4.3 nexus user has this issue?
I have been loving my Red Nexus 5... The weight, the look and the Google's smooth Android OS experience. However, since I updated my OS from KitKat to Lollipop early this year, my Nexus 5 drains out the battery in almost 6 hours daily even without using it often. I thought Android 5.1 would somehow help fix this issue. However, it didn't. So now I have to keep my phone connected to USB all the time so it could stay alive at night when I hang out with my friends.
I love how customizable and user-friendly Android system is. But the performance of battery really need to be improved and optimized if you want to keep your users. Both hardware and software need improvement in Android eco-system. I hope Android M and whatever Google phone will come out could offer a better solution.
Any suggestion on how to make my Nexus 5 battery live longer besides turning off cellular data and location service if not needed? :crying: Thanks!
Hi guys,
so I've tried for about 2 months to get by but the mandatory upgrade to lollipop from kitkat is a joke,
the biggest problem right now is the cpu is draining the battery while it sleeps. Tried lots of things like turning location services off, Wi-Fi, battery saver etc.
I don't know what to try next and feel just throwing this once perfect tablet in the bin.
Kitkat was far superior, working perfectly, and after seeing just how awful lollipop is, interface included, I just want Kitkat back.
Is there any way to get the ROM or root the Hudl 2. The tablet is becoming useless once working perfectly always crashing and lasting day.... At this rate. it will burn out it's own CPU.
Many thanks

I second that request. The LG V10 is a brilliant, flagship device...marred only by lousy battery life (ez to swap the battery out, though). I was expecting that since LG is porting Nougat to the V10, there would be dev work going on. There was a rooted version of the stock H90120e upgrade (which I have on my h901); but, it seems all development stopped after that. The fact that there were enough V10 owners to force LG into doing the Nougat upgrade should prove that there is a sizable market for a new, unlocked Nougat ROM. If anyone does it, I will be glad to act as a tester.

Battery life..yea...in my experience, it fluctuated allot. For a while, my V10 was getting very good battery life, but the last couple months, battery life is terrible, especially just standby time. Its drops to the mid 60's after just 4 hrs of sitting with screen off and nothing happening. I haven't change anything on it.
I recently switched to my Moto X Pure that is stock 6.0 but rooted and lightly modded with exposed....battery life is freaking amazing. Downgrade in camera(but stereo front facing speakers sound amazing), but I think my taste in Android had changed. Moto is closest to pure Google Android as u can get without getting a Nexus or Pixel, only a little bit of Moto apps and services added on...no UI or heavy customization. The experience is much smoother.
I recently had the chance to actually use a Pixel XL for a few days...and WOW...never used Android device that was so buttery smooth and fast. Makes sense cause with the Pixel, Google controls both hardware and software (like Apple and iphone). Only things that is holding me back is that the Pixel doesn't support AptX, which is important to me (but i read that Android O will soon fix that), and also the hefty price...have to get 128gb version since 32 is too small for me and no micro sd slot. Would cost $1,048 for the Pixel 128Gb with Google 2yr ADH warranty. Also, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL (6in lcd) may come out end of this year (November?) so looking forward to seeing how they improved upon the already nice product...at the very lest, price on 1st gen Pixel should come down at that point. Rather wait and dump the money on newer model in a few months...
As far as my V10....plan to wipe and re-flash rom...see if that helps restore the things battery life....but rather do that with an updated custom stock rom...but nothing newer than what i already have....so it its waiting for the 7.0 update.

Hi
I have a V10 H901 running Eliminator74's custom debloated V20L Rom and have no problems with battery in standby (overnight it only looses 2 to 3%)
and under normal use during the day I admit battery life is not outstanding but I do manage to get through the day.

yea....like i said....mine used to be like that...but recently...the phone hates me. Moto X pure is more than 2x the battery life. Been off charger since yesterday evening...still says 1 day 1hr left. Same normal apps installed and active.
YEAH! We want custom roms, Mods, tweaks, etc! This phone is extremely great!
I cannot promise anything due to work taking up time, life, etc...
But I really want to get xposed working on Nougat, and it doesn't seem terribly difficult with what I saw put up on github recently. That's going to be my first pet project. I haven't messed with this stuff in a few years though, so will have to shake off some rust. If I get it done... it will go up here! lol It's way more for me (I love xposed) then anyone else, but if I get it working why not share with the class!

I tried last night. It wouldn't boot. Most likely needs an aosp rom to work.

I got the same problem, Battery life used to be good and all of a sudden it dropped drastically, Hate to see no updates from LG Tmobile, I think the problem is with the android system itself sucking the battery. New battery didn't help. I tried go launcher and it seems to be better ,, so I doubt the launcher is eating up every bit of battery. you could try different launchers and check if that is the issue. ( screen consuming all the battery )
But cant wait to update to nougat. so finally here at xda forums. Awesome folks here!!!
Any idea on how to root h901 running Nougat 7
yes to this thread, please build a stable lineage version for the h901 v10.
Hello guys! I'm for the moment on Android 11 pixel experience and I was thinking to go to android 10 crdrood (magisk works there perfectly) is better to go to android 12+? I gain any performance? Or just new android and new security? Plus magisk would work there?
Android 9 and above are relatively secure unless you do something stupid.
CPU cycle sucking scoped storage is fully active in 12 and probably 11. I go with 10... this stock N10+ is still running well on Pie.
A12 is a solid improvement over A11 at least in terms of RAM usage. Battery backup is a little lower (around 1-1.5%/h worth of active drain ) but since I switched to a new official battery the hit isn't noticeable. Even the most notorious financial/banking apps are working well in conjunction with Magisk 25.1 and Shamiko module at least in crDroid 8.6. I would strongly recommend to format data and reinstall apps afresh instead of restoring then via Swift Backup etc.
I fortunately can stay on Android 9 and 10; 9 is still the best, secure enough but still very functional and usable.
Google's done gone Brandon crazy and made a mess of the OS with scoped storage.
Apple is laughing... and probably giving Google a bribe to screw it up.

Nothing better in sight...
Android 13 really sucks

Yeah kiddies you be boned... malware is easier to deal than this new, "improved", more secure locked down IOS copycat crap
Gookill screw it up all up, predictably.
"Screw will it until you break it..." has always been Google's MO
Best recommendation: stay at the version you're on. Upgrade at your own peril. Android 9 was the zenith for the Android OS, it's been downhill since. You can pile all the new features icing you want on a turd, but it's still a turd.
Maybe Android 14 or 15 will get it or maybe Google is DOA... they just don't know it yet.
What you want is a fast, stable OS that's offers flexibility, functionality, usability and fulfills -your- mission, not Gookills. If you have that now, be happy and leave it be...

crDroid A12L is working perfectly fine and it's improvement. Latest Magisk also work. (But I personally prefer to stay unrooted)
I recommend you to upgrade.
I am still running android 10.
