You should find someone to take your phone to. This is clearly beyond your skill level.

Make sure you download the gapps zip to flash as well. It's a couple of lines under the dl link for the rom.

If you have a custom recovery go into it and press Install button, then select your zip.

Didn't mean to be rude. it was just fun....
and in XDA, we have to be a bit rude when new people not try to Google and read stuff before posting a thread about it.
Let me explain..
You know how to install a program in windows, right? run Setup.exe etc etc
In Linux, or android specifically, you just copy paste stuff into the required directories, and set their specific permissions. That's it.
Flashing a zip does exactly that. When in a custom recovery, you select a zip and install it, it copies its contents into specific folders of your phone partitions and sets the permissions of files as required.
You install ROM's, MOD's, themes, tweaks and many more things using different zips.
Hope it helps this time..... but if you would have Google and read, then it would have been more natural learning for you and better understanding.
Regards
Yasir
to install a zip you need cwm or twrp recovery. then just go to install menu in the recovery, then choose the zip you want to flash. done

I have a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (yp-g1), and am trying to install the CM 11 Rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537248
When I select "apply update from sdcard" and select the rom .zip, I get an error: "E: Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
Can anyone help?

You would need to download a custom kernel (if you're running GB) like terrasilent. Then after you need to choose "choose zip from sdcard" and from then, you can continue with the instructions from the CM11 thread.
Hope it helps!

First of all: The community here is amazing, just wanted to get that out of the way.
Second: I figured this out this morning (right around 3:00 A.M. to be exact) but never updated the thread.
Thanks a bunch, Zaclimon. I finally got it figured out, and it was definitely a fun challenge. This was my first time flashing a ROM, so I wasn't aware that stock recovery wouldn't flash the zips properly. Again, thanks a bunch!
Also, I would like to make a detailed, yet basic (and understandable to noobscrubs like I was) video. This ROM has truly... well... inspired me, I guess. I enjoyed flashing everything and finally getting it working. If you had some screenshots of the installation (or pictures, rather) that would help.
Again, thanks a bunch!

Can anyone provide some instructions for intalling the kernel? Does it just need to be a zip in the same place as the ROM that we flash first using the recovery mode?
Looked at the Terrasilent page but the instructions were sketchy and made assumptions I knew what I was doing
Thanks

I made a guide on how to flash with odin here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922461
The second point should help you with how to install the custom kernel!
Thanks

I looked at your post and have started looking for the pit file that I need for my device, looks like it is buried in the threads somewhere. Any clues where?

All done! Looks great and very snappy. Now I just have to relearn how to use everything! So much has changed since Gingerbread!
This is my first post.
I can't find the Samsung Fascinate EH03 (Gingerbread) stock ROM and PIT files anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find them?

Just haven't hit the right thread yet...
I've put up all those hard to find things, etc
Here:

Look in the odin folder for it,,, and don't forget i zipped it up for a quicker d/l.
CI500_VZW_EH03_GB.CM.tar.d5.zip
Read the info in the file description:
"extract the ".tar.md5" then install with ODIN"
Links and such are in my signature too
Thank you so much!
Would it be okay with you if I put your download links up for a tutorial I'm making? Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! It actually worked! I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't uploaded those!
