[Q] Galaxy Player 4.0 Rom Error - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I have a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (yp-g1), and am trying to install the CM 11 Rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537248
When I select "apply update from sdcard" and select the rom .zip, I get an error: "E: Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
Can anyone help?

You would need to download a custom kernel (if you're running GB) like terrasilent. Then after you need to choose "choose zip from sdcard" and from then, you can continue with the instructions from the CM11 thread.
Hope it helps!

First of all: The community here is amazing, just wanted to get that out of the way.
Second: I figured this out this morning (right around 3:00 A.M. to be exact) but never updated the thread.
Thanks a bunch, Zaclimon. I finally got it figured out, and it was definitely a fun challenge. This was my first time flashing a ROM, so I wasn't aware that stock recovery wouldn't flash the zips properly. Again, thanks a bunch!
Also, I would like to make a detailed, yet basic (and understandable to noobscrubs like I was) video. This ROM has truly... well... inspired me, I guess. I enjoyed flashing everything and finally getting it working. If you had some screenshots of the installation (or pictures, rather) that would help.
Again, thanks a bunch!

Can anyone provide some instructions for intalling the kernel? Does it just need to be a zip in the same place as the ROM that we flash first using the recovery mode?
Looked at the Terrasilent page but the instructions were sketchy and made assumptions I knew what I was doing
Thanks

I made a guide on how to flash with odin here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922461
The second point should help you with how to install the custom kernel!

Thanks

[ROM] Jacpotclavin's CM9 ROM FIXED BLUETOOTH(UPDATED 7/23/2012)

HELLO FELLOW GP 5.0 USER,
** DUE TO DEMAND HERE IS THE DROP BOX LINK https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a2bylvatf6aokfr/ytm9El1Tsa/Superuser acess/superuseracessfix.zip
I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WORK AROUND SOME FEW THINGS TO HAVE THE BLUETOOTH FIXED ON THE ORIGINAL JACPOTCALVIN CM9 BASED ROM .
CURRENTLY AM USING THE ENTHROPY512'S KERNEL AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING
SMOOTHLY.
PLEASE YOUR DEVICE HAVE TO BE ROOT. FOR INSTRUCTIONS CHECK THE DEVELOPMENT FORUM.
AND PLACE THE ZIP FILE INTO INTERNAL STORAGE AND NAVIGATE TO INSTALL FROM SD CARD( THAT IS AFTER BOOTING INTO CWM BY HOLDING THE POWER+VOL UP AND RELEASE POWER AS SOON AS THE SAMSUNG LOGO APPEARS)
2.PLEASE DO A BACKUP OF YOUR DEVICE AT CWM. ALSO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOSE INSTALLED APPS, JUST BOOT IN CWM AND INSTALL THE ZIP FILE WITHOUT WIPING CACHE AND RESTORING TO FACTORY SETTINGS.
THANKS TO JACKPOTCALVIN AND ENTROPY512 AND ALL THE GREAT DEVELOPERS WE HAVE HERE. THANK YOU.
AND I WELCOME ANY IMPROVEMENT THAT CAN BE DONE
ENJOY.
Way to get Bluetooth fixed!! This should be in development section not general!! Some people have been looking or a Bluetooth fix for ICS! Nice work!
Wow, just Wow.
Gonna try it tonight and report back.
Bluetooth is actually what was holding me back from using any ICS ROM as my daily driver, I couldn't care less about the camera, is crappy anyway.
Thank you for the effort.

This is awesome! Thanks for the work. I may flash this later, so I can pair my wiimote with my GP5.

Do we flash the TAR File "DD_01142012.tar" with ODIN?, is that the fix alone, instead of the whole ROM from the two previous links?
EDIT: The TAR File is Entropy's Daily Driver Kernel.

It does work with the newest one, I testing this ROM with it right now.
Hey does this by anyway work with the INTL version, I mean I can use the JackPot's ROM with Noisyfox's patch but I don't think the kernel is compatible.

rumirand's kernel? I have it on my device already. Does it work? And noob question, will flashing a new ROM via CWM change the device kernel? Since I flashed rumirand's r14 kernel on Stock ROM, so if I flash a ICS ROM, what kernel do I have?

What files did you have to change/edit not just the Bluetooth.apk did you decide to edit the framework if so it would be nice if you could tell me so i could implement it into my rom thanks

I have PM you and supermaster34.
Whats new in the version called display density?
If its a modification to this rom, it should be posted here, not in a separate post as it will confuse people
If you've only changed the display density then its not really an update as you can do this with many apps from Google Play. If you have changed other things too then please ignore this post (I'm going to test it once it downloads)
Please upload your roms to mediafire or somewhere else with fast downloads as deposit files have the slowest downloads ever
Out of curiosity, can I just simply download Entropy's kernel from his thread, and just flash that? Or is this a modified version for CM9?

[Q] ressurection remix JB installement

i'm comsidering to flash to this particular custom rom i found, i've downloaded it on my computer already but when i read the installation on the ROM's thread i saw that he said to install it with AROMA installer
i don't have it, and i'm wondering if i could flash it without AROMA installer or it only works with it?
it has aroma installer on it already just flash and aroma will pop up. next time tho go direct on the resurection remix thread rather than create a new thread for just 1 question

Next time collect some questions, from friends, family and colleagues and ask then in one thread ... -.-
Never mind. Just copy the ROM to the internal/external sdcard, enter recovery mode and flash the it there.if you need a more detailed explanation, then go to YouTube and search for how to flash a custom ROM.

ahaq is this your guide as I notice your name appears to bear some relationship to the writer's ?
The moboot is outdated , the rom and gapps should be renamed to begin update- then they won't need to be installed after boot.
Not sure about using a Rom that the developer has said will not be regularly updated and doesn't actually include camera and gallery .
I hope the writer of the article got oats permission to use his Rom and links.
Otherwise a well written piece .

I've only been able to find version 3.5 of moboot is there a updated version? What should we be renaming the files too BTW?
I'm hoping that all the fixes goes into a Official Nightly Build so we can download and upgraded as needed.
Thanks,
Smitie

If your installing via your recovery cwm or TWRP you don't need to rename anything it's only necessary when using acme and a cminstall folder.

I am not saying it's a bad rom, just oats has said it won't be updated unless there are major changes. There are several different Roms in the developer's section . You should try them for yourself but I would suggest that unless you put links to the developer's thread that you are best of using ones that updates can easily be checked for with something like Goo Manager .
One question from me when I right click on my Palm ,Inc folder I do not see an option for command prompt ,how do I enable it running Windows 8?(Solved )
Reread your post ,neat trick .

Look in the odin folder for it,,, and don't forget i zipped it up for a quicker d/l.

Read the info in the file description:
"extract the ".tar.md5" then install with ODIN"
Links and such are in my signature too
