I have an AT&T Samsung galaxy S2. Im running showstock 3 with AJK v4 kernel. No matter what i plug my phone into it will not recognize it, only charge. I have tried my head unit in my truck, my home stereo receiver, ps3, and pc. I have searched for weeks and tried everything. I also just recently replaced the usb charging port, still nothing. I think it has something to do with software. Please help.
Did you try a different usb cable? They can be finicky...
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Yep I tried many different cables. Even bought a different kind, and tried every possible port on each unit.
[Edit] Im not to sure if it might have something to do with STweaks. But I reset that app and started from scratch. Last thing I have yet to try it factory reset.

That or flash all the way back to stock and see if problem still exists if it does its something hardware. If not I would start from there and root and fresh install.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Its a problem with your ROM
Even I am looking for a solution, when I restore it to the stock ROM it starts getting recognized but after I restore t back to avatar ROM, it stops working g.
I've been using shostock ROMs since they came out. I updated to shostock 3 a couple months ago and was working fine up until a week ago. Only thing I've changed was kernels. I'm using the ajk the one. Is there another kernel anyone would recommend?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
What version of AJK are you using? It's up to 4.3 no recognized issues here. And I'm running SHOstock 3.0 .2
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
3.9
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Just installed 4.3. Have to wait to get out from work to see if it changed anything.
[Update]
Updated to shostock 3.0.2 and updated kernel. USB worked a few times and now its back to where it was. Nothings popping up, all its doing is charging.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Sounds like a intermenten hardware issue but you could try flashing back to stock and start from scratch.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Did that and again the same thing. I replaced the USB charging port and still did the same thing after. Is there something else, hardware wise, that could be bad?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Make sure the use hub port has the right version number.. Check the ribbon connection.

What is the "REV" of the new charging port you installed?
I mean REV 2.3 OR REV 2.2 ?
I read on a thread here, that REV2.2 replacement doesn't work. But the REV2.3 work correctly.

I recently flashed CM7 and I have noticed that when I power the device off and plug the AC wall charger into it the phone automatically rebooted itself to the homescreen and will not charge while powered off regardless of what I do. I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem and if there are any known remedies for this issue? Thanks.

I have galaxy s 2 with miui and that won't charge when off, which is not good when battery totally drained, as now can not charge phone
had to buy 2nd battery, did you find a solution?
May go back to stock rom and try
Just fyi jt resolved this months ago. It had something to do with the kernel if I remember correctly. Any kernel from mid August on should be resolved.

Yes, yes it should be. I thought that was obvious though.
I tried multiple roms including ACOP CP2.1 and Black Star V and NFC doesn't work with my dads s3. I turned nFC on and android beam along with wifi and wifi direct. Any thing im missing? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have the exact same problem. I have been trying different roms on my note for the past 2 days and its a no go on CM9, AOKP either. I have been trying to use NFC with my GF's stock ICS Note
Umm yea. NFC also known as (Near Field Communication) technology is built in to the phone battery. If u want to check it should say it right on the phone battery, our Galaxy Note don't come with the NFC battery unfortunately.
Sent from "The King Kong of the cellular jungle, the Galaxy Note!" using Tapatalk 2
Umm our notes don't need a NFC battery man... The back plate has the NFC chip built on it. Galaxy Note i717 is the only Note with NFC.
I know it is possible but can't get it to work...

I ran collective cp1 and now collective cp2 - on my i717 and nfc worked in both
Loving its functionality especially combing it with Tasker
by the way it first didn't work for me until i realized it was my leather case - the case replaced the original back panel and the original back panel had metal strips that served as the nfc antenna - the replacement case did not have these strips so my NFC did not work until i replaced the original back cover

Ok. Maybe a little more specific? The only time I even tried NFC was at a SGS3 display at a Costco. They have 3 little NFC tags that when you set the back of the Note over them, it launches the browser to a tutorial on the SGS3. Other than that that, I've found no other use as of yet.

Thanks. I ended up flashing a near stock ICS ROM to test NFC and it worked in that ROM. When I received my replacement Note I put DAGr8's latest AOKP on it right away. Now that I knew that NFC was working I re-downloaded the latest release AOKP release, Sep 28, and flashed it but NFC wasn't working. So I re-downloaded the last 2 versions of AOKP, Sep 19 & Sep 28,verified the MD5 and flashed them over each other in TWRP. That got NFC working in AOKP for whatever reason for me :silly:
Maybe someone could link to a pretty 9/11 cm10 nightly and then we could try a similar idea. I would try it

So I unfortunately ended up with the charging bug.
When I put my phone In the wall charger it doesnt want to charge. The charging indicators all turn on but I still lose battery.
I've tested the cord and charger on my friends phone and they work. I've also put in a different battery with the same result. Also booted into safe mode.
Help?

Try blowing some compressed air into the micro usb, could be something in there, if it's not charging at all it will be hardware related.
Another thing will be to check another battery iy could be the battery has failed for some reason, if none of those work flash stock and run triangle away to reset flash counter and it's off to a service center because it could be physical damage to the micro usb.

I don't know if its my network or the kernel. But after flashing the 4aceskernel last night i enabled the fast charged and left it all night with airplane mode on,so i don't get bother. Now this morning i disable airplane off and fast charger off,and i enable my data and roaming, after that i try to get on play store, and it stock on loading with the circle going around, after couple seconds it says connection timeout. I dint pay attention to it, i left it alone.later on i try to use the Facebook app i couldn't it stock on loanding and after couple minutes it says network error. I went to my browser and search something on Google and it was working. I search the letters b,c,d just to check if it was my network. But it turn out that it wasn't my network at lease that's what I'm thinking.so i had some twrp backups from different ROMs and in all of them it still the same problem. I can use the internet to search even i can use xda and i can download ROMs but i cant use the data on any gapps. Or even the Google voice on the stock, opera, chrome,Firefox, dolphin browser. Not even gmails or Facebook. Yes my apn settings are correct.my accespoint is selected in my network.by the way i use net10. I search on Google about this problem but it just show different problems with the network nothing related to my issue. Help in need! Remember all this happen after flashing the kernel #31. Just to get this clear im not blaming this on the kernel because i don't even know if the kernel have to do anything with this, since I'm the online with this issue .but i came here because this the only thing i flashed last night. Sounds to me like it is time to use odin and wipe everything back to factory stock. If the issue still persists then it is hardware. If you don't have the problem on stock then it is something you flashed and or restored
I gonna continue to flash zips of any kind that has to do with data.even from other devices. Just looking for a solution to this issue until this phone get sold.
