some rom flashing questions - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got Samsung shv e110s, I was wondering if I can flash i9100 rom on it, and if i can, can you give me some roms in Hebrew.

You just cannot. The hardware of these two devices are different. So it won't work.

But you just posted this from an SPH-D710, which is the Epic 4G Touch, which is the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S II. Do you have an SHW-M250 somewhere else?
Yes I do have another one

Had to make sure.
I don't know much about the SHW- series phones... Sorry. Try reading this thread.
EDIT: post 6 in that thread says you can use any i9100 firmware on the M250S/K. So I guess the answer is yes. But it will probably change the model number in the About Phone and boot screens though.
I got some good info here as well http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...vloc&q=korean+galaxy+s2+xda+forum&v=133247963

Android Apps

If an app is configured to only work on ICS and down and not on JellyBean, what would it take for me to make it so that it'll work on JB? Or you know...if someone can do it lol. But I'd prefer to do it myself. Thanks!
Android is retrocompatible, so, if an app is developed to work with ICS as minimum version, it SHOULD work on JB.

It shouldn't take you too long to port it over. Some apps won't require any modifications to work on the new firmware, while others do.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app
No you can not possibly do that! Your device is completely different from the galaxy s3 for various reasons, by flashing a rom of other smartphone the only result will brick your device

When used in reference to consumer electronics, a "brick" describes an electronic device such as a smart phone, game console, router, or tablet computer that owing to a serious misconfiguration, corrupted firmware or a hardware problem, can no longer function. The term derives from the vaguely cuboid shape of many electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) and the suggestion that the device can only function as a large, heavy object.

Sure hold on here whilst I flash the latest .ipsw file from Apple. I doubt that will brick my phone, after all, they are both smartphones!
But Is there any rom which is the same as the S3 firmware and needs no rooting

I dont think you are intelligent enough to do much with a phone.
But at least your next topic cant be as stupid as your first.
The one sought in the forum, there are custom rom leaving his appearance with the S3 S2.
Now this is really determined to install the rom S3 in S2, would you donate to your phone than using it with a paperweight in the future.

Need some help and recommendations

Hello all, I have finally decided to root my S3. I just have one question though, what app would be good to backup all my settings, pics, apps and everything else? Also what is a good Rom to use that's fast and based on jellybean?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
You can use titanium backup. As for the ROM it depends, some prefer stock with custom kernel others prefer asop ROMs. You should browse the forums and decide for yourself. Also next time search and only make a new thread if you can't really find an answer, the moderators may get mad at you.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
What's the difference between asop and stock with different kernel? I read some older topics and just go too confused.

read the OP. it explains the different naming schemes of various different ROMs. it also lists all the roms that fall into different categories of aosp, aokp, stock, and others.

actually jjegan is right. due to hardware differences, you need to check out the appropriate forum for your phone. you will turn your phone into an expensive paperweight if you flashed any roms or kernels in this forum.
