Why does this happen? - HTC Droid DNA

If I change or refresh it acts normal but it won't be long and all my live wallpapers do this no matter what kernel I'm using

I believe that's GPU screen tearing. Are you overclocking or anything?

Nope no ocing if I change it when it starts doing that it'll be ok for a lil while then start again
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

Since you've tested multiple kernels try to wipe dalvik and cache and dirty flash your current version of viper. Something got messed up ROM side perhaps.
Also check the gpu rendering options in developer options. Mess with them and see if it changes anything.

what does set on boot mean, do I need it checked?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
set on boot means the app will startup open boot and manually set the frequencies to what you have selected. It's not needed with most phones. I'm actually not sure if it is needed or not on the 3d, hopefully someone can chime in.

Of you want to keep the settings in SetCPU then check it... Although if there is a initscript it might change it back to the default just so you know

if u have used other oc apps, prior to this one, u will need to wipe all data from the oc app, to stop it interfering with your new settings for the newer oc app

(Q): ICZen rom

Anyone have problems with rom control not sticking? I have to keep redoing the controls after every reboot.

Which version of ICZen are you on? (Just for reference)
and which controls in particular?
The startup tweaks were disabled, so those will certainly not stick. Are you experiencing other settings not sticking?

The latest. And I did find out the start up tweaks were disabled over at rootzwiki. Which is what I was asking about. Thanks for your help!

YouTube doesn't go into landscape mode.

It's happening on a couple apps, they don't seem to sense that I'm holding the phone in landscape. I've cleared cache and I've done a soft reset. Running the base 7.3 with no other problems. Any ideas?
Thanks

Edit: now it's stuck in landscape after using the camera.

Did you happen to have flashed Nocturnal mod ?
I flashed it, didn't like it so I tried to restore. Got an MD5 error so I had to flash the base again to get rid of the nocturnal mod.

I had the exact same happen to me, tried everything I could think of to fix it. Finally had to use lgnpst to restore, then reroot unlock and flash base.
I think I'll just wait to see if the next rom fixes it if that's the case. Does anyone know if there is an option to calibrate the sensors? I've looked but haven't found it

Under display in system settings, the last option but it will not help. You can be up and running in no time, lgnpst doesn't wipe data and there is an automated install script. Once you have everything downloaded it runs in few minutes.
I'll try that then, thanks

Fixed using lgnpst. Interesting fact my phone was missing the option to calibrate the sensors before restoring with lgnpst.

Soft key backlights while asleep?

I've had my rezound for over a year now and have never noticed this before until now. If my phone is asleep with the screen off, I can swipe my finger across the soft keys and they turn on. Even more, if I swipe a few times, the screen turns on as well. This causes the screen to turn on when I don't want it to very often. Is this an intended feature? I find it very annoying. I'm running stock ICS with the newest version of funky kernel.

Thats what sweep2wake is. Also, if you start at search and sweep left to home it will relock. It's a very experimental feature that I am not too particularly fond of but wanted to give everyone the option to run it.
1st question for you; what rom were/are you running?
2nd question; which option did you take at time of installation of my kernel?
Ah ha. I'm on stock ics. I left things the way they were when I installed the kernel, so I'm guessing it's on by default?

Yup. Working on fixing that though. Use kernel tuner> Misc tweaks to disable/enable it.

You're welcome. Should be corrected in v2.7. I now s2w to default to disabled, one if you want to enable it again either flash my scripts installer or enable with kernel tuner.

Wake up phone!!

Why does my phone take so long to wake up I'm using venom Rom with zarbos kernel?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Low screen off clock speed I'm guessing.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I'm gonna have to agree with the low screen off clock speeds. Just reflash the kernel and up them. It should fix it.

Just tried that still didn't work and the choices I make don't stick. I choose stock speed no overclock but when i check in kernel tuner clockspeed is at max 1.8 and still takes forever to wake up. I am s-off and using clockwordmod

Uninstall kernel tuner and reinstall the kernel. Kernel tuner is known to mess stuff up.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Remove any cpu tuner because this kernel does not need it. Other ones do but not this one. Then reflash the kernel.

He's saying to uninstall it completely. Don't put it back on at all.
FWIW, I'm on Venom 1.2 and after trying a bunch of different set ups, what seems to work best for me is to simply uninstall all kernel managers and then install the kernel and run it "stock".
This has given me awesome battery life, no lag, and no boot issues.
