Guys, I need your help!
My friend has a P769 (T-Mobile) and last wednesday we've unlocked the bootloader and installed the CWM and CM10.1, following a video tutorial that we found in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277639 .
Everything worked perfectly, but according to my friend he tried to install a update from CM10.1 and now the device shows only the LG logo at booting. I've downloaded the ROM again (CM10.1 for P769), wiped all possible options on CWM (data/factory reset, cache and dalvik), installed the ROM many times and we still get stuck at LG logo.
I've searched here but it seems anyone was stupid enough as my friend was, haha =\. Can anyone help me with ideas?
Thank you in advance!
Wrong section that's why you don't get an answer and if you had used search in the same thread you saw the video you would have seen you answer is buried in there.
flash X and U from 20f and reset you should be fine if not watch the video and do a offline KDZ flash to stock and then try again.
Its advisable to take nandroid backup before doing any such work so that your phone cab be restored to default rom in such cases
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
1.) Terribly wrong section. Development is for developing SOFTWARE, not developing questions.
2.) Offline flash KDZ or flash the boots from 20f, as the other chap stated.
3.) Be more careful when tinkering (But not too careful, I "bricked" this thing probably 10-15 times )

As the title says I think I killed my GSM hero.... I need your help!
here is what happened
I'm new at this and I got a Hero with android 1.5 so I wanted to upgrade to a newer version
I followed instructions on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
I successfully rooted the phone then I tried to flash this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932377
After reboot the old rom was still there but wiped so I did everything from scratch a couple of times and didn't work.
I did notice the last time that there was an error that I'm sure I didn't see the first few times while wiping SD:ext so I looked for that on the forum and fund the following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679991
I followed pseudoremora's instruccions and then tried to flash again, but got stuck on the boot screen...
Now somehow I lost my nandroid backup... I'm not sure what happened but is not with the rest of the things I backed up...
so here is the current status:
Can't boot
Can't flash the ROM
Can't restore the backup.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this? I found another thread that talks about using someone else's nandroid backup (but removing the pieces that contain personal data such as usernames and passwords) if that is possible, would anyone be willing to help?
Thanks!
Here is the last thread I mention
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=545435
Can you boot into the recovery console by pressing power+home?
if recovery is not working for you , try going into fastboot i hope you knows how to use ADB over fastboot . Goood Luck
It's fixed!
Hi Guys,
IT's fixed!! I'm not exactly sure how I did it... I flashed the ROM several times until it worked...
Do you think it's a problem with the hardware itself? maybe the SDcard?
Anyway I'm reliefed! not i's working!
Cheers!
I am relatively new to Android and last night was my first experience with flashing custom ROMs. After a couple months of reading many different articles and threads on xda and other sites, I tried to make sense of what rooting and flashing meant and was all about. I successfully rooted my device and then last night I tried to unlock the bootloader which I think I did correctly. Then, I tried to install CWM on it which I think also worked. The problems started from then: Rebooting into recovery didn't work (it only gave me a black screen) and I tried to find some solutions online. There wasn't much luck but somehow after many attempts, I was able to boot into recovery. From there, I wiped my data and settings (It wasn't factory reset before), wiped the cache, and wiped the dalvik cache which went all well I think. Then, I tried installing the latest CM10 nightly for the L7 and midway through installation, the phone just rebooted itself. And now, it's stuck on bootloop. I tried many different things and even formatted the system which I think made it worse. Please help!!
The Quick Details:
-LG P705G (Canada, Fido) was running stock ROM V10e i think
-was rooted
-i think bootloader was successfully unlocked
-stuck on bootloop
-formatted the system and now only LG logo appears when I boot (no CM logo)
-I really have no clue what to do :crying:
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply, do you know if the firmwares will work for my Canadian P705G as well? Because it seems they are all for foreign countries
I dunno, dude. The images available are for locked phones, but I dunno if there are major differences between them (plus carrier apps, of course).

Alright thanks I'll give it a shot. One more question do you know if I would be able to update my software back to my original carriers if I was to successfully unbrick it with one of these other ones?
Surely yes.
Hello. About a month ago I rooted my phone using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189646. Everything went great until today. Few hours ago I received a system update (about 10MB) and installed it. And since then every time I reboot my phone I get ClockworkMod recovery menu showing up on my screen. I tried pulling out the batery, I even made a factory reset, but it still gives the the CMW menu every time I reboot my device. Maybe anyone of you could tell me what to do? Cause I'm kinda panicking right now
P.S. I also made such thing as "format /system" through "mounts and storage" menu. I don't know why, but I think it should be mentioned (just in case)
Well the best way now will be to download CWM backup for your phone from this thread, send it to sdcard and just recover using CWM. This way you won't lose root and CWM. If it won't work just you use KDZ to flash ROM from scratch. Check this thread too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36352031&postcount=3

If you share which L9 variant you have, which country rom you flashes or stay, then people will be able to help/tell you, which cwm backup is suitable to your L9.
Update your profile with your country name (if u r not criminal? lolz kidding), operator name and add L9 variant in your signature. at the moment, your profile is completely naked.
Ok, I managed to deal with my problem. Firstly I tried using cmahendra's guide on installing KDZ offline, but after aproximately 2 hours of complete failage I began searching for other ways. Luckily user edriskus answered to the message I sent him and suggested me doing the same as I tried to do before. He didn't mention the offline version so I thought that I should try the "online" one. And it worked! I don't really know how it sounds in numbers, but now my phone says that it has 4.1.2 version of android (hopefully the latest one available for L9).
There are few questions left:
1. Does my phone remain rooted or I have to root it once again (since I have reinstalled the software)
2. This one confuses me the most. Now my phone feels very laggy (which is strange, because it was factory reset previously and there aren't any apps here). I feel it from sliding menu/photos, surfing the settings and other similar actions. Maybe there is a way to fix it?
Nevertheless, my phone is working again and I really appreciate your help, fellows!
hello
Hello! I have exactly the same problem! Can you please explain to me how you manage to deal with it? I tryed to flash after this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 but i stuck at step 6 at the Post-JB issue, since every time I reboot my phone I get ClockworkMod recovery menu. Its a dead end for me. Pls help and thank you very much!
I finally succeded! Thx Feero21 for helping me, i followed your advice by trying it in "online" method. But there is one more problem, after i flashed the Rom i saw that i have only 1 gb free on my internal storege and another one occupyed. In total i have 2 gb instead of 4. I belive that the old Rom wasnt deleted and its still their and its occupying my also too small space. what can i do? Thanks!
So I'm very new to all of the rooting stuff. I got an HTC 4G LTE off Ebay just to use as sort of like a tablet. The firmware on the phone kinda sucks so I wanted to root it and go with a better version of Android that the bloatware-inflated version HTC provides. Not to mention updates are no longer supported.
I successfully rooted the phone with TWRP and followed the instructions to wipe the phone and such. This is where the instructions I found were kinda "off" and started using way too much lingo so I decided to wing-it a bit, thinking I had sort of understood it. I went to install, installed the BeanStalk and Gapps zip folders that are available in the the other section.
Rebooted my phone and it wouldn't go past the HTC boot logo... So I tried again. No luck.
I managed to get back in TWRP and I'm wondering what I need to do in order to get this bad boy to work. I checked the troubleshooting threads and found the section on boot-looping, but so I did the cache wipes it stated, selected "Factory Restore" and it rebooted back into TWRP. I'm not really sure what to do. Do I re-install the BeanStalk and Gapps zips, or am I missing something?
Thanks for any help.
If the phone is S-on you'll have to flash the kernel separately from the ROM itself. Hit the top link in my sig and read the entire guide. I think it will be quite useful to you:thumbup:
Sorry if this has been asked, I have searched for 2days and cant find an answer. I was playing around with my sons old LG Optimus G E970. I followed all steps to root and flash clockwork mod recovery. I thought all was well when I found a rom I wanted to try. It wouldnt flash si i did a system wipe now im stuck at LG logo and I am able to get to download mode and recovery but theres nothing to install. I am a Samsung user so LG is new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I have searched and searched im not lazy...lol just cant find anything that actually works.[emoji106]

If you are using an old recovery (as may be linked in rooting threads, cause this phones been around awhile) with a newer ROM, that may be causing your problem.
I would recommend the newest twrp recovery - check the last couple pages of brothaedhung's Candy5 thread in the dev section for a download link. You should be able to Flash that in your current cwm recovery, then reboot to recovery, to get to the new twrp.
