Make your case on this thread why you deserve the dock most.
Disclaimers
1. LGOG folks who have helped me in the past with phone-related issues or recognized contributors/devs will receive priority.
2. You will pay for shipping. PayPal preferred. (Unless you live in DFW, TX area. I can meet you)

I got a very complicated sound system in my car and I use my phone 95% of the time for music weather it be my 22gbs of music on my sdcard or using Pandora. I deleted the antenna on my car for a clean look n now I get no am/FM radio stations. The only time I use a CD is if I have a friend that wants to listening to one. Currently I place my phone on the passenger seat and when I want to change the song I have to take my eyes off the road to grab my phone n change the song.

I don't know if you have done the picking yet, but I could really use this thing! My car has no where to put a phone where it will stay... much less a slick all glass one. And I have tried a couple methods (mostly home made) that work-ish... but this thing looks pretty fantastic!

Was playing around in the car the other day and was looking for a good place to mount the phone and found this...
I couldn't take a real pic since I didn't have an extra camera with me, but I made an image so you get the idea.
I drive an '06 Base model.
Works great for typing/reading when driving. Thumb keyboard would work great too. Just watch out if you plug in a charger or line out! Keep the cords in front or they get tangled.

Yes, please tell us it's a joke. If not, please tell me you don't live in Minnesota, as I don't want to be anywhere near you on the roads. No offense to you as a person, and I'm not questioning your driving ability, but if you're not gridlocked for hours on end, you shouldn't be reading and typing while you drive.

I was shaking my head until I read... "I live in So. Cali" Then it all made sense (even the part about the Prius paying for itself).
yea we Californians are idiots.
Skipped the whole part about driving with it on the steering wheel. Happens at work, just skimming through most posts not reading the entire thing. :what:

I agree, you may save money at the pump, but I wouldn't want to pay for a battery replacement on one. And to think that the battery makes them just as harmful if not more to the environment. Some people are just mpg crazy.

Good thing you don't have to pay for a battery replacement anymore (unless you get in a wreck), and they can be recycled. Though I do agree once every car runs on batteries it could start to be very harmful to the environment.

Im actually connecing through a SIP service and phone out through GVoice. I spent a fair bit of time figuring out which route to go with it.
I have my tablet now, but won't be tinkering with it until tonight.

I love how fast and fluid this phone is but after all these months I can't get used to the width and weight of this phone. It just always feels uncomfortable. Actually the sprint version feels much lighter and better. I hold my phone probably 10 hrs a day for doing work on so I may have much more of an issue than most people. But I abhor how at&t asked lg to make this phone this wide. Just ranting.

Get the LG Bluetooth headset. It's really comfortable and will keep your phone out of your hands and in your pocket or on the desk. I'm on my computer all the time so it really allows me to type and talk at the same time during presentations and such. I personally like the weight of the phone. Oh well.

I've had mine only a week. I like the feel of it but it's still awkward because of the width -- more in the area of pulling it out of my pocket than talking on it, which I don't spend a lot of time doing. If I talked on it a lot I'd probably prefer to use a headset. I'm getting used to the size and in fact my old phone (Samsung Eternity) now looks puny. I've resigned myself to the fact that these big screens are the trend. Where I once looked for the smallest phone I could find, that is too limiting nowadays.
I have to stand up to get the OG out of my front pants pocket, and I wear loose-fit jeans. So when I'm at work, I just lay it on my desk.
The phone is also pretty slippery on both sides. I would probably drop it once a day if not for my rubberized case.
My dad's iPhone 4 has a 3.5-inch screen, and I think it fits better in the hand. The 640×960 res is pretty respectable too. But I just can't get into iOS, waiting for jailbreaks, proprietary connectors, etc.
The size is still something I'm getting use to. For me, the SGS3 felt way better to hold than the Optimus G does, but the specs and promise of development for the LGOG is whats making me keep the phone.

Crossing my fingers on the development, whether it be by the community or LG themselves. Thinking about picking this up over a Note II for myself and a GS3 for the lady in March for my upgrade.
It's a very powerful phone with a GREAT price, just depends on how the dev community makes use of it
Yes to me the s3 is the best when it comes to holding comfort. If the s3 had Optimus G specs it would be the long time keeper
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I'm on the same boat as you guys. The LG OG (especially with my Otterbox-like case) is a pretty damn big phone. But considering the fact it's a Nexus 4 with a legit LTE modem and microSD slot, it's definitely future-proofed for a good, good while...
So I backed this project ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta ) couple months ago and I just received it today posting here if anybody interested in picking one up it sounds like they'll start selling it soon to non backers. Way better than using this OTG like cable I've been using for a while now!

This is gonna be a very profitable accessory I can tell already. People stuck with low internal storage capacities need a need a compact product like this to meet their storage needs. The design is quite suave as well which is a plus. I'll look out for it, hopefully the price point is acceptable.
I backed this as well, looking forward to receiving it. Should be perfect for heavy media use.

Should have been one whole piece of rubber or whatever they used for the hinge.
The issue (for me at least) was the rubber peeled off the plastic cover. I used a drop of super glue to reattach it. It's been 7 months and I've had zero problems with it. I think the phone looks butt ugly without the cover, so I'm doing everything I can to keep it.

Yeah, I've been holding out until the Android Wear watches come out, but I've wondered how a wearable would be for a while. I'll just wait out the LG/Moto watches then. Can't be that far away.
Few days ago in France, the first Galaxy Gear was available for only 1€ in lot of stores : you paid 101 €, and you got 100 € refund by Samsung.
I really think this device does not deserve to be paid more. I prefer my Pebble Steel from any point of view.
Got one in a McDonald's happy meal. Lol
If they get cheap enough, I'm sure you could use it for something other than a watch. I'd strap one on my steering wheel for music control.
Not that it's cheap, but I had to post this link because this thing looks awesome!
