Has anyone figured out a work around to at least flash a rom on the ME7? I hate this stock crap with all the bloatware and nonsense on it.
I tried using the search but a lot of threads came up that were irrelevant.
Theres no recovery available for ME7, so no. You cant flash anything.

Well you can root it, delete stuff, and actually have a pretty decent phone. If you want to flash a custom Rom you are out of luck unless you sell it and buy something else. But this is a great phone with stock rom. Everything works and works well. Take a look at the aosp threads, problems galore. Aroma installer roms only problems. Ok I'll get flamed but I don't care. Stock on the s4 is unbeatable. So don't trash it. Live with probably the best phone on the market now.l

I agree stock is great when you debloat it. When I had my s3 it was probably 8 months before I decided to rom it.

This rom was just uploaded yesterday. It is NOT MINE. Unofficial, but I flashed and it's running great, especially with Neak Kernel as I have installed now. I flashed it right over my setup on Carbon after just wiping cache and dalvik and it booted up and worked right off the bat. 1 force close at 1st, but just clear data for calendar and calendar storage and it will go away.

I know you're just trying to help everyone here out,
But there are people out there that do not want there ROMs on xda unless they post them.
Even though slim ROM has many threads for devices on xda, doesn't mean they want this one on there.
For whatever reason it may be.
I'm sure they will get to it, but still.
It's a respect thing.

Probably wont lead anywhere. Im assuming if it could there would of been some developer chatter. For all I know someone could be doing it behind closed doors tho.

They have a notice on the site that download counts aren't showing properly on the page. Im sure somebody has grabbed it. Plus, DL been going pretty slow for me at least, on any mirror not getting over 250KB/s thats like almost 2 hrs, lol

Wow this went no where I guess everyone has just kind of given up. This will be the last time I rush out and get a launch day "flagship" device paying full price. I thought for sure this phone would have a ton of development and a ton of accessories so far im seing neither. The s3 has alot more

I don't think he was ripping anyone saying he's "owed anything". Just exhibiting frustration on a locked bootloader. I too had hoped Sammy would not have gone this route, and more development would continue. Those of us on VZW should come to expect this now, as they are nazis with the bootloader. Bootloader unlock is not a selling point for me, but it does make it more fun.

It is frustrating for those of us on ME7 not to have an unlocked bootloader, but I for one am grateful for the options we DO have right now... you can still root and use Xposed to customize to your liking or use Safestrap and flash a decent amount of roms. I will keep waiting patiently for someone to find an exploit, but in the meantime just shut up and enjoy what options we're even lucky enough to have. You picked Verizon, did you really expect freedom?

The options we have seem to be enough for most users anyhow.
Giving my iPhone 5 to my mother.
Just got Verizon to give me 2 weeks early upgrade over the phone.
Any case recommendations? I am looking for a slimmest case.

First make sure the s4 box is the mdk model. Absolutely under no circumstance should you allow anyone to give you a me7 model nor let any rep activate your phone at the store. Say your corporation requires you to activate it while in their presence. Just tell'em you work for the government. Better yet say you're an auditor for the irs, no one wants to F with that. If the store doesn't have a me7 model then go to every possible location that sells vzw s4s till you find a mdk model. Alot of people have luck with best buy, I got mine at radio shack. Dont turn your phone on until you have came home and read the thread on rooting mdk or check in here for further instructions.

my old S3 is jailbroken which I will be selling now this is what my mom used however with S4 I don't plan to root at all.
What is the benefit of MDK version?

You can install a custom recovery with mdk. But if youre not rooting it doesnt matter which version you get.

Damn I thought I made a well thought post lol. Also you could probably make a decent profit by getting a mdk then selling it to someone who has a new me7.
P.S. For future reference, you didn't jailbreak the S3, you just rooted it. Jailbreak is for ios only and is different from root. Some people will rip you a new one for saying that. Imagine giving the answer "the millennium falcon" when asked what ship Capt. Kirk commanded...at comic-con.

It's root-able, just can't install a custom recovery and thus custom ROMs and kernels as of yet. However, a workaround is in the works that will at least allow you to flash custom ROMs that use the TW kernel. Of course, all of this only matters should you decide to root your phone.

Its been rootable for quite some time. Guides posted in the dev section. Even without custom roms you can make some decent customizations with xposed framework and the wanam module.

As of now I really don't see a reason to root.
Although the thing I like is the app that allows with root to move any app to SD.
But is it worth rooting only for this? I don't know maybe later in few months , maybe in a year

My problem is this is my firmware/Users/other/Desktop/pic 1.jpg
can someone please help me if I do root I see theres a guide CAN I UNROOT? Is it safe right now or is it buggy..
If someone please can just shed some light with me I do read but just want to here what others think

First off, welcome to the wonderful world of Android! You made the perfect move! Secondly, do read as much as possible before doing anything! It'll save you lots of headache.... And apparently flaming too! There are some great people here that'll help but a lot will unfortunately call you out for no reason other than you posted in the wrong section. Sorry about the desperate post, I am pretty hip to rooting I use to have android phones and use custom recovery. Thanks for the replies the phone is the I545VRUAME7 which I see there is a root but the boot loader is locked like on most of the moto androids. Now my question to you guys is, is it worth the root this version or sit tight

Roots better then nothing. There is quite a few things you can do with root, xposed framework, titanium backup, root explorer. There is also safestrap which allows you to install custom roms.

Besides root, look at Safe Strap.
For ME7 its the work around for getting past the locked bootloader.
It will allow you to flash roms and more.

If I'm on 4.2.2 and I do a factory reset will my phone go back to 4.1.2 or just stay on 4.2.2 and just be rest and if I wanted 4.1.2 I have to odin or sbf if I'm on a different phone and I'm only asking so I can show someone else I right but my saying isn't enough

You are correct. A factory reset will not change your baseband version. You'd need to flash it in Odin to change it.

Wrong thread. Yes. However. Yes you can. I've personally flashed several carrier ROMs using sprint kernel afterwords. Verizon however I get borked data. Fc settings. Tmo usually I can get OK but I do not suggest this to anyone that doesn't prepare for issues. Knowing a bit from owning g2 will help. It is same principle ...just I had too much fun one day. Wound up flashtool but I enjoy flash tool etc. I do not condone. Its your phone. Be safe. Make backup. I did not give thumbs up. Just answering you best I can in truth. You'll play a while trying to get CDMA too often.
