Yes follow Adams guide. If you make a backup of your old phone you could restore that and be right where you are now.
By the way you didn't need to create two threads for this. One in Q and A was all you needed.

Is it safe to use at&t kernels on our note 2? I know lots of people are using the neak kernel for at&t on Verizon and I tried it but it wasn't really for me, so I was curious if anyone had used other at&t kernels successfully on Verizon. Thanks!

From what I understand yes it is, there have been quite a few people I have spoken with on here that use AT&T kernels without any issues.
You need to make a full nandroid before testing it out though just in case....
