i8190 Baseband XXAMG4 (do not use for L/N version)
Flash with your custom recovery
GT-I8190_modem.bin-XXAMG4-update.zip
If it gets stuck in bootloop or you get baseband unknown, just reboot your phone.
Thank you Tyson!
CM10 It's working!
Thanks. I'm installed in Dmod v6. I'm don't have bootloop and baseband unknown

Sure, any ROM. Just make sure you don't install I8190 basebands on I8190L/N versions & vice versa. More basebands here
Hello mauam,
Thanks for information, its works great
Do I have to flash the baseband before or after i8190_XXAMG4_XXAMG4_rootfixed.zip?
I'm living in Switzerland. "updates to the firmware of the cellular modem inside your phone" https://ohthehugemanatee.org/blog/2015/04/04/how-and-why-to-update-the-modem-slash-baseband-firmware-on-a-samsung-phone/??? Therefore I would suppose after the "rootfixed" flash.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526831 -> conncection to mobile network, or what is it good for?

It's because they borrowed code from another kernel and adapted it. The Galaxy S series have the advantage of being a close cousin to a nexus phone.
Give kernel source.

Problem is with the kernel... i am also facing it..most of the samsung pieces have this problem afaik.
I'm also having this issue... I'm from Latin America and the problem seems to affect "some" devices. First I've installed stock ddkq8 and then a custom rom based on the same stock. Wifi disconnect and reconnect after like 1second. It's like 3minutes WiFi ON and then it turns off but reconnects after 1 or 2 secs. Can i flash a working kernel with this stock? Change the section of this thread if it's. Necessary.

Wrong section ...!!
And yes this is a problem with cfroot kernel.

Thanks shaan! I was guessing a "wrong section" hehe. Can you tell me if i re flash a known working kernel (like the one I'm using right now) will face the same problems? Thanks!

+1
Well its not a device problem. It relates to the kernel. The current versions of cfroot that we have are old. When we get a new cfroot kernel with updated libs the problem will be solved.

Not at all. You can flash a 30m/30i/30c/39i, on every 30m/30i/30c/39i without problem.
Actually, there is 30m and 39i baseband working, and you can flash them on every cooperve device.

You cant! CSC part will make your phone stop working data part cause different bands used in different countries so u must use proper csc or compatible one otherwise phone cant make calls or 3G will not work.
And 39i has different bootloader than 30i so unless you flash a custom kernel and boot.img your phone will not boot. Tested by myself. So they look the same but Firmware flash between phones not recomended. Only system.img may be...
But about Custom Roms, you can flash between different types as they contain only common files and cooperve spesific kernels.

I have a 39i, I live in france and i have flash a 30i indian rom without problem, and another time i have flash a 30m rom, always everything worked fine, calls, sms, 3g... there are the same device.
And i use stock kernel/boot.img and it has always boot.

Is it possible to build a kernel that can run on both 4.1.2 and 4.2.2? Not necessarily dualboot, just that one kernel can run on different Android versions. Can someone teach me? I already have stock Samsung kernel source and CM's msm8930-common on my system.
Thanks!
