How to show menu overflow button - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have an early build of paranoid android flashed on my phone and its based on 4.3, and in the older builds there was an option to enable the in app menu button, however its gone in this build, and im sure it will come back in later updates, however its missing now and i hate not knowing when apps have additional menu options and when they dont, so what tells android when a device has hardware keys or not? there was an edit for build .prop that i tried(gwmu.hw something or other) and that didnt work, does anyone know how to do this? thanks

[Q] apk Install Button Not Functioning

My Prime is about to go off warranty so today I attempted to install the Unlock Device Tool app - without success.
The apk opens to the usual dialog - "Do you want to install this application? It will get access to: etc., etc."
The problem is that the Install button at the bottom of the dialog doesn't do anything. (The Cancel button works just fine.) I tried installing from both MicroSD and Internal Storage, with both touch-screen and track-pad, with keyboard attached and without, cold booted too. Nothing helps. And, yes, installation from unknown sources is enabled, though I even tried disabling and re-enabling. Tried installing a different apk and encountered the same problem.
I'm running JB 4.1.1 - 10.4.2.18-20121122. I recall having the same issue on one of the earlier ICS releases but it resolved after a later upgrade.
Can't find any previous discussion on this though.
Would sure appreciate a solution, if there is one. :fingers-crossed:
I found a workaround. Maybe it will help someone else.
I hit the "I" key on the keyboard, hoping that might select the Install option. Instead it selected "Cancel". (WTF?) So I hit the Tab key and the selection highlight shifted to Install. Finally I hit the Enter key and the app installed.
So now I am successfully unlocked, TWRPed, finally rooted again, and ready to try custom ROMs!

Pie controls disable in all apps PA 3.56

Hi,
I'm on PA 3.56, Baseband 1545VRUAMDK, kernel 3.4.0-cyanogenmod-gba 15d0b, build pa_jfltevzw-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39
My Full Screen mode becomes disabled whenever i enter into any app, and then back to enabled when returning to the home screen (details below). I understand the ROM is still in development, but if anyone can advise a fix to this prior to the next release it would be greatly appreciated.
Three days ago I installed PA version 3.56 on my Verizon Galaxy S4 via clockwork recovery. I had been using the Pie controls without any bugs for about 24 hours and then I began to notice that the full screen mode would disable when I enter into any application, then back to enabled when I return to the home-screen. I know it is not the specific application that is incompatible with pie because i can enable full screen while in the app and it works. I've ruled out any frozen applications by defrosting and the problem persists.
Additionally, this may or may not be related, but when i reboot, re-start launcher, or restore hybrid preferences, i can then not go back into hybrid properties until i restore paranoid preferences via titanium. I am prompted 'unfortunately settings has stopped.' Occasionally the same thing happens to system UI, and always to the camera. I can not use camera on PA 3.56
After this happened, i noticed also that even when I checked 'enable search button on pie controls,' in the toolbar settings, the search button would not be present until i restored hybrid preferences, and then disappear again after some time. When I restore hybrid preferences and reboot, startup occasionally hangs at samsung galaxy. I have to do a battery pull to reboot.
Any insight appreciated

[Q] Need an Experts help

Help!
I have a unlocked AT&T Motorola Backflip (I know its old) and have been trying to install Android 2.3.7 CyanogenMod7. I go through making a recovery image and use Superuser to do a Wipe All. I then flash from the SDcard the zipped file. Everything appears to work fine. After the reboot the phone comes up in the Home page where I can see the apps ect. The issue is that when the phone goes to sleep or restarts I am at the initial power up screen ( where you would select phone, home or return). It is at this point that the home button fails to do anything. I get a short vibration indicating that the phone recognizes I have pushed the button but nothing else happens. When I restore the recovery image everything works fine.
It appears that the link between the home button and the location of the home page is missing.
I would really appreciate expert advice on how to proceed.
Thanks
Ram
CyanogenMod 7.1 mapping
Thanks for the information. If I may pose a follow-up. Based on my description, do you think there is different mapping with Android 2.1.1 and Andriod 2.3.7?
Also, is there a way to tell what mapping is being used in Android 2.3.7 or CyanogenMod7?
I appreciate you help.

BACK and MENU keys both assigned to Key #139

Hi guys and thanks for this awesome forum.
I tried out different ROMs on my Feiteng N9500.
After a while many ROMs have both assigned the BACK and MENU keys to keynr. 139, which is supposed to be only the MENU key.
I checked this with the "keynumber tracker" app.
So now both my BACK and MENU keys open the Menu.
If I flash the stock ROM however, they both work fine.
And this used to work fine on other roms aswell.
I did go into factory mode and accidentally press some of the chinese stuff, that may be related.
But the Stock ROM works.
Any Ideas how to make my BACK key work again?
