Any idea on how much would it cost to replace my screen? I don't have anything to prove warranty so that means I'll have to pay for it. If someone wants to know why I want to replace my screen it is because it has suffered (humidity?) damage. About 2*2cm area has changed its color to grey/red.

You are looking at a price £100 ($130) or above
Sgs1 replacement displays cost around 150$. So I'm guessing it might be around 170$

in italy touch for sgs1 200 € in date 15/07/2011 in samsung center
Watch some videos on youtube first, before you order a screen.
Theres a difference between just the screen or the whole front housing.
If you only get a replacement screen(ebay, 100-150€), you may need a heatgun.
I dont think its very easy to replace the screen on your own, though i never did it.
Its much easier to get the whole front housing(not shure, but maybe 150-200€), where the screen is already glued into. Although its more expensive, it might be worth the price.
Hi,
If you want to do it yourself, I would recomend buying the whole front, concidering the price difference, safe yourself the hassle and replace it all, its just some screws!
Good luck
In Indonesia Samsung Center I changed it for around 90USD..
in indonesia Rp.1.100.000 or its +- $130
click thanks button if i help you
I thought the glass front is just stuck down with strong double sided tape.
Seen a video somewhere where it can be prised off, which could get access to dry it out. May need some new tape to stick it back down though.
by the way an idea how much the mother board ?
I'm in need now of a replacement kit for the cracked screen. So far I've understood that I need to buy a kit like this in order to replace the bad screen.
(LCD+Digitizer Screen +Bezel For SAMSUNG Galaxy S 2 i9100)
Anyone knows if the screens that are sold on ebay are the real AMOLED screens or just some pirate crappy LCD screens?
IF so, perhaps you have a good seller that sells me the real thing?
(Tried to search all the i9100 forums for this but couldn't come up with something)
If you get that one youll have to change over all the bits that are stuck to the old housing.
As for eBay,Id look for someone thats sold lots of them with 100% feedback and use Paypal....

I'm in the same boat, but because of water damage. The right side of my screen doesn't respond to touch. Soon as I sell my car I can replace the screen.
I will likely be getting mine from a local retailer though. Will cost a few more bucks but I'm paying for the certainty of getting the right component the first time.
And the requirement of reassembling the phone isn't a problem for me

Hello all,
Got my S3 a couple of weeks ago and dropped it onto a wood floor on Friday with no case on it (been waiting for mine to arrive from Amazon ). The device seems to be absolutely fine apart from a very small scratch on the top left of the screen. I've been trying to live with it but it's really annoying me and would be more than happy to pay to get it fixed if it doesn't cost absolutely silly money.
Is it possible just to have just the glass replaced or will I have to shell out for the glass and the digitiser etc as well? Has anyone else had their S3 screen repaired?
Thanks
Replacing the S3 screens are pricey, I'd stick with the scratch until you do some serious damage.
It is inevitable the phone will get scratched at one point so I find it hard to believe someone would pay to have a whole screen replaced based on one scratch, you must be crazy!
If the scratch is that annoying get a decent screen protector and you won't be able to see it.
It would be very expensive. The front plate, digitizer, and amoled screen are bonded in one piece and the assembly is sold at ~US$200 in Ebay.

I'm not sure, it looks like the front plate and the digitizer are totally inseparable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es8gezSdKv4.

Just read, and see that you are about to do the same. Good luck to you as well.
Yet I think the person in the video didn't peel off just the glass but the glass together with the digitizer, which is slightly tinted as seen in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es8gezSdKv4.
The cheapest and best solution is to use a mirror screen protector. It will hide your scratch when phone is off.
When Screen on you will not notice it.
I'm sure I have read a thread where someone got it replaced at car phone warehouse for £80ish, not sure how true that is as it does seem very cheap for the job. Worst you can do is ring them and ask for a quote and them tell you this ain't true.
I have insurance which would cost me £25 excess through my bank so not really looked into costs of getting things replaced, but I have taken apart a lot of phones in the past and they are getting much harder to replace things like glass on its own. As said above it would have to have digitizer, which is pretty costly to purchase.

you can buy the unit for £150 and follow a youtube video on how to replace, or pay between £175-£225 for a full repair.
I took mine to a Samsung repair centre on a Saturday and had it fixed within 30min, paid £215 but just wanted it done.
The glass and the digiizer are glued together so the whole unit would have to be changed.

Hi
If the screen still functions and the touch is working properly you can just change the glass face but you will have to be real careful as doing it yourself without the right equipment is risky and you can end up without a screen working at all. the whole screen that is currently on the phone will be completely sealed to the phone so it is a slow process to remove it and you can end up pulling the digitizer off the lcd and again this is not fixable if this happens.
also the finish will not be as good as the original without the right type of liquid glue to go back between the glass and digitizer.
at the end of the day you are better off sending it to someone who does it a lot and has all of the gear to do it, as you will get a better finish at the end.
Mod edit: Removed..
I just drop my LG phone and I sadly dropped it in the wrong place. I am having a hard time finding a new screen for my phone, can someone help me. And does the p760 screen works with the p769?
Well that's a downer... Fro what I've seen the p760 won't work... I think this might be it, I'd read into it further... Not sure if it's just the parts...

Yeah I'm having the same problem for my wife's phone. No one has the glass part. Etradesupply.com is out of stock too. I'm gonna call them Monday and see when they might expect a stock order. You can find the 760 everywhere.

Same thing happened to me when my phone was three weeks old. My service provider wanted to charge me almost the full price of the phone for the repair. I got the replacement digitizer and glass lens (surprisingly it was an original part that I got haha) through ebay and I did the repair by myself. You should search ebay for the part that you need. It will work out a lot cheaper than sending the phone in for repairs
This user just replaced his P769 glass. Ask him where he got it from.

I am in need of a replacement screen, only ones out there are either for the 760, or sold out from china shops online. So if anyone finds a place to buy them please share, thanks!
p769 replacement screen digitizer
Hey guys i found a website aliexpress that says it has it, but many bad reviews, and most likely a scam so watch out for the website.
So you basically need a new lcd? Or just the digitizer and glass? I got my digitizer and glass from China and it was an original part, with correct part number and the original screen protector with the print on. Sometimes these guys sell legitimate stuff for great prices

idk about overseas merchants, and the payment options money order etc. seem questionable.. If you do go through with the process, share your results
I wont say that I recommend buying from a merchant overseas, but the website looks all right and everything looks secure. It is much better than trying to work a phone with shattered glass
UPDATE
Ebay now has p769 digitizers for 50$, from china and search "OEM Touch Screen Digitizer LENS FOR LG Optimus L9 p769 T-mobile black" it looks oem but the back looks odd, but check them out doesn't hurt to look
I bought this one from Hong Kong. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=130904045759
I'll have to wait and see.

waiting game
Still no support on the p769 l9 digitizer screen replacement. Though i heard if you contact dealers that sell lcd/digitizer combo and request digitizer only they can sometimes work out a deal. Until then back to waiting
FINALLY!
Hey guys there is finally a ebay dealer in the U.S who has OEM p769 digitizer screens. only 8 left. would grab one before they sell out! :good:
I just saw the ad on ebay. It looks like a really good deal. Good luck with the repair
Well after having my z ultra for a month I decided to go nearly case less (have the Incipio Watson case) using a thin case, I managed to crack the glass over the screen in my pocket which renders the entire phone useless. I do realize that it was my fault for going without a case and not being extremely careful. But now that this has happened to me I want to let you guys know the after effects. Like I said I only cracked the top layer glass but due to design the touch sensitive portion also is damaged. They sandwiched the glass, digitizer, and lcd together as one unit with the digitizer glued directly to the glass so once cracked the entire phone has to be disassembled and glass, digitizer, and lcd has to be replaced as a assembly ($250us). This is not a cheap repair and I've found one aftermarket online repair shop that's charging $300us to fix with no guarantees. And they don't say whether it will still be water proof after repair. I called Sony before they announced the phone here and they told me due to the fact that it isn't offered here they would have to send the phone to the country of origin for repair and it could take a month or two before it returns. And they didn't have a firm cost of repair but $189 normal phone cost. I think due to the thinness of the phone made it extremely fragile with super thin glass (which is how I think they managed the use of metals as stylus) covering the screen. So I recommend getting protection that adds rigidity and screen protection or getting added warranty coverage to the phone to avoid my bad luck.
If something goes wrong with my ultra I will run it over with my car and use my home insurance. 100$ and i get a new one. Here in Sweden it's called "bad luck" insurance

Just to let you know, while looking on the brando site, I noticed they had Z ultra replacement screens for $150.... Don't know their quality, etc... but I did see them...
I only have a Skinomi clear skin on mine. Front pocket, back pocket daily phone. Even the hood of my car dropped on it while using it doing a repair. No issues here pretty tough. Although I was sure I cracked it after that incident.

Had it in the pocket screen faced towards my leg in a squatted position (wasn't thinking and frustrated at the same time from work) and cracked it from pressure/flexing presumably since all cracks stem from single crack at edge. What's crazy is that it seems to still be cracking even though im not using it. Have pictures in tow.
Did you squat really low? or like sitting down position kind of squat? Did you feel the pressure on in your pocket?
I have the phone as well and I only have a gel case, but I'm always scared to sit down with it cause I feel a bit of pressure when I do.
I don't wear skinny jeans, just regular straight jeans.
