I am wondering if all Note 2s allow for using gmail account to unlock phone when you are unable to remember pattern lock. I, Myself, do not have a problem, however, I have seen people mention they can unlock the phone if too many unsuccessful attempts are made at trying to unlock the phone. I do have a gmail account which is linked to the phone. I have tried 100 times to get it to give me the option to use the gmail account without any avail. I am a ATT user, was wondering if this might have something to do with it. The phone is not rooted. Any ideas? Also, it doesn't give me a countdown timer saying try again.
Thanks
You say that you don't have a problem, but then say you do. Regardless, looks like you'll have to do a factory reset.

What I am saying is I am not locked out of the phone. I was just testing out that feature, but it never appears.

I changed the lock screen password on my device after entering a new one when encrypting the SD card. Sadly, I forgot where I put the note with the new password and I have locked myself out of the phone.
I have tried everything I know to get to some type of back door, but without any success. And there doesn't seem to be any info out there on how to get past the lock screen without doing a factory reset. Does anyone know of a way or a tool I can find which can get me past the lock screen? I currently have the a rooted SCH-i605 running 4.3, which I removed all the bloatware and rogue apps from, and I would hate to have to start all over again. But unfortunately, the only thing I can think of to so is to wipe it clean and start from scratch..
If anyone has been through this and knows a tool or a work around to my issue, please let me know ASAP!
Thanks
I think factory reset is your only option if you can't remember the password. If there was a work around, encrypting the phone would be a worthless feature.
Sorry mate,

Rooted and running 4.2 if my memory serves me well.
I broke the screen on this one and it had been out of commission for a while before being repaired.
Did not set same screen unlock PIN on my interim replacement phone, forgot the RAZR's PIN by the time I repaired it.
Need to unlock it and I do not believe USB Debugging was or is turned on.
I did activate it hoping the "forgot your password" gmail prompt would appear. No dice.
I need information off this one and unlocking it via the clean wipe methods is not an option.
Can anyone help? I'm near Nashville and would gladly pay for assistance.
Should the RAZR give the "forgot password" prompt, if activated, and after X number of failed attempts to enter the PIN screen lock? If so, how many attempts should make that happen?
If not, and mine didn't after many failed attempts, is there any other boot method or means to turn this device on that will allow me to go into it and wipe out or change the PIN screen lock?
If so, should Minimal ADB and fast boot work?
Am I the only one that finds these "confirm I'm not a robot" "recaptcha" images nearly impossible? I'm looking at them on a 23" HD screen too. The audio for them, seriously???
Is there any way to get those removed? Countless attempts failed and just to make one post took over ten minutes once it was composed. These are extraordinarily difficult. Please?

Will the RAZR not give the "forgot password" option, if activated, that allows you to bypass the PIN screen and unlock it via gmail?
Wiping it isn't an option, I need the information on it much more than I need the old phone.
Is there any other way?
What is up with these recaptcha images? Did I somehow mess up creating an account by not using G+ or something? Those things are brutal.

Verizon Note Edge - Reactivation Lock Problems (Legit Samsung Account)
Ughh, so I got my Note Edge, Had it unlocked and rooted running ver 6.0.1 (was originally 5.0.1) For some reason it would not allow me to turn off the activation lock even though it was legitimately in my account, I logged into account.samsung.com and verified it. Did a master reset on phone with no help. Next thing I did was delete the samsung account and recreate it. (Probably a huge mistake). When I try to use my account to unlock the phone I keep getting 'processing failed' I have tried every flash and bypass that I've been able to find with no luck at all. I've been dinking with this for over a week now.
Contacted Samsung yesterday and basically got a runaround response from them.
I still have the email stating the device was registered to me with this IMEI but it didn't help any. I have the original simm card and have done everything with simm installed. at first the OTG cable was working but wouldn't still wouldn't let me turn the lock off. Now it won't even pop up file manager when I conect the OTG cable.
I don't care how I get this lock off of here but can someone point me in the right direction for something that is currently working either through samsung or any other alternative means. Am so frustrated at the moment.
Same issue here. Help!!
Man, i cant beleive this isnt possible? I still have the phone sitting here because i have stuff on it i need. Anyone? Any solutions at all? It's not the google lock but the samsung lock.
What helped me with my note edge I found on technocaretricks website it is Samsung account bypass/reset solution for all models. Also watching a quick utube video or 2. (Sorry cudn't post links)
Hope it helps
I have just purchased a Xiaomi mi 8 lite and went through the process of unlocking the bootloader but it says I have to wait 360 hours which is an absolute joke. does anyone know a website that unlocks Xiaomi smartphones as I cant wait that long. many thanks.
Hello guys, after succesfull Bootloader unlock and flashing new os i have no Sound at all, no phone call etc, fp isnt working too, any sugestions?
Just wait. Everyone had to wait.
I got rid of the phone in the end only had it a few days, hated the retarded process of having to wait to unlock the bootloader and the even more crazy process of unlocking it. Got myself a Xiaomi Mi A2 with stock Android pie 9 so much better than the overbloated Miui software.
I read somewhere else (do not recall exactly where), the reason for the long wait is they want you to get two weeks of MIUI advertising. Once the phone has been activated for at least 2 weeks, it will unlock instantly using their unlocking software, no wait required. Can anyone confirm this?

You have to enable developer options to bind the phone to your miui account to start the unlock countdown of 360 hrs (better than the 720 it was). During the wait period you must not logout of miui account (factory reset, change from stable to beta or vice versa) or you will no longer be able to use that miui account to unlock ever! You will have to create a new account and start over at 360hrs again. Once all the requirements are meet then unlock software will work without issue.

I have been trying to make it happen, but it keeps telling me that my account is not associated with my phone number, which it is.
Developer options have been enabled since within 10 minutes of owning this phone. However something I missed, you have to link your account within Developer options by entering the "Mi Unlock Status" item and clicking "Add Account and Device". Anyway, I did this but still no love. Still says there is no phone number associated with my account. Grrrrr. Any ideas anyone? I really love this phone so far, but may still exchange it for the Pocophone. F1.
Also, on a side note. Once the bootloader is unlocked, is it possible to re-lock it?
I read on the MIUI forum that if you launch the unlock process with a chines IP address and with your email, not the phone number, with a VPN, you could unlook in less than an hour
I discovered the information too late, I'm in the 360h waiting list ...

I read this somewhere too, using a VPN will do the trick. However when you register your phone with your account in the Dev Opts, it makes you turn off WIFI and register via 4G/LTE (probably for GPS location data). That doesn't necessarily mean it would still not unlock if the PC unlocking tool is connected to a Chinese VPN, just casts my doubts.
Anyway, I finally got it to take....after I created a new Mi account and got the phone number registered. However the message the Unlock tool gives upon successfully starting the unlock process is very uninformative. It says something like "Couldn't unlock device after 360 hours of trying". I have not even owned this phone for 360 hours!! After googling for this crazy error, I found it is "Engrish" for "Must wait 360 hours to unlock your device". JEEZE!! Go figure!!
I really can understand making one wait for a certain amount of time to unlock it, just to give the owner enough time to erase the data on a potentially stolen or lost phone. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, is going to wait 15 days before remotely erasing their phone. But then again, when the BL is unlocked, it will automatically erase all the data anyway, so perhaps my point is moot.
Hey all. I originally posted this in the Mate 9 forum inadvertently but meant to post it here.
My wife and I both have the Mate 10 Pro. She lost hers at work several days ago. I located it using the Find My Device app. I also locked it so nothing in it was compromised just in case she didn't find it. She ends up finding the phone and can't unlock it. She brings it home for me to take a look at and I notice that I can't even input the whole password before it shows up as invalid. Apparently the input limit is 16 characters and the password I used when locking it remotely was 17 characters. I offered to factory reset it for her but she said no because she has a bunch of pictures on there she doesn't want to lose. Basically, her cloud photo storage is full and the last month and a half of pictures haven't been backed up. Is there anything I can do to at least retrieve her photos?
Has it ever been connected to a PC and ADB permission granted? If so connect to same pc and pull the content you want to back up. Otherwise it might be a question for Google. Also factory reset may not work in it's locked state due to recent Android anti theft measures.

Thanks for the reply. The only time it's ever been connected to a PC was using HiSuite to back up the phone before a factory reset a few months ago. I just feel bad and was hoping to fix it. I did post up a question on the Google help forum and haven't received a response. I guess I'll just give it several more days and if I can't figure out a resolution, I'll just factory reset the phone and see if I can at least get her phone back to her. I don't think she cares for the battery life of my old HTC 10... Thanks again.
If the password is too long then make her request a password change bro it's common sense.
I appreciate the input. I will try again when I get home but I'm almost positive you can only set the password one time through the "Find My Device" app. Once it's set, there is no changing it.

I think It uses the same password as the google account that locked it. also try to log in on another phone or computer and try to see if you can unlock it, also the limit is 100Characters for google password So I don't think that's the problem.

So, just for the sake of clarity, I'll explain in more detail. My wife never uses a screen lock or password on her phone. When I "secured" the device using the Find My Device app, I put in a password to lock it. That password is 17 characters long. When the phone boots up, it asks for a password. The problem is, the phone will not allow me to input more than 16 characters. I tried truncating the password and that doesn't work either. I've tried her google password and it's a no-go. I've tried connecting it using the HiSuite software but the software doesn't see the phone. I've asked on the google help forums and haven't received any response.
Currently, my wife is using an old phone and I'm trying to find a workaround. Using the Find My Device app right now and it doesn't see the phone, so there is no option to relock with a different password (don't think that is possible anyway).
I have tried to do the same thing on my phone now and it is asking for the unlock PIN, the same PIN what I use after restarting the phone.
So, I can not believe that your phone does not accept that PIN/password because the password can be up to 32 characters long.

yea something seems fishy here OP must have stole it or found the phone and the real owner have it locked it, so there's "supposedly" his wife is the owner of the phone she is the one who locked it first so I don't see the problem with her unlocking it because to lock it it must be done from a computer or a different phone.

Thanks for the accusation. You sound like a fun person to be around. I, me, myself, locked the phone through "Find My Device". I only did that because she did not have any type of screen lock/password/PIN on the phone. Once the phone was rebooted, "Find My Device" couldn't even locate the phone again. As far as the other comments about password length, all I can say is I locked the phone with a password (using my computer) that was 17 characters long and when typing said password into the phone, as soon as I hit the 16th character, the phone said invalid password. Apparently I'm not the only person that's had this issue...
