How did you solve it???
I have the exact problem and can't find the place to delete quicklinks.
[also, I'm trying to remove stuff like Facebook, Stocks and Twitter from the taskbar].
If its a free link then follows the steps above......
if its in the grid then open the cht menu and select edit quicklinks...
By taskbar Im assuming you mean the slider....??
Go to your settings tab, select "personalise" then "home screen tabs"
Hi,
Sorry to bring this old thread up again.
Recenlty having problem on removing quicklink icon (on Energy ROM). Can't figure out how to delete one of the icon (shortcut) on quicklink page.
Just as schp98ls1b4c mentioned:
"if i click cht editor i get this Quick Links,Free Links,Pages and levels,softkeys,lockscreen,widget settings,applications,miscellaneous".
I can't find the menu as "CHTeditor, edit home screen, tap and hold on the quicklink...".
And also if I click on the Menu button at Home, it came out with menu of Set Wallpaper, CHTEditor, Edit Quick Links, Edit Home Layout, Weather demo.
If I select "Edit Quick Links", I can only move the icon around, but no way to delete it.
If I select Edit Home Layout -> Level 2 - Quick Links, I can only change the layout of the quicklink. If I tap and hold, a menu pop-up with Remove & other option. If I choose Remove here, it will actually remove the whole Quicklink Widget but not one of the icon there.
Anyone can help?
Found the solution already.
Actually is using Menu button at Home -> Edit Quick Links, then just tap the quicklink item once. The tapped item will be marked to be deleted after this. Previously keep using tap and hold, no wonder can't get the delete function.

[Q] Hide files from so they dont show up in the gallery

I have some files that are I only want to know about and I was wondering if there was any way to hide files from the gallery/media scanner so they dont show up that easy.
Ideas? Thanks
Put them in a folder that is named with a . in front of it.
.private
for example.
Did that and re ran the media scanner, but now the whole folder is gone on my sd card... I want it visible in Linda Manager, but hidden from the Gallery.. if that makes sense..
Is there possibly a ay to edit the Media scanner script to ignore a specific folder name?
I don't believe so.
I use Root Explorer and also checked it with Androzip and the .folders show up fine.
Is there a setting in Linda that allows hidden file viewing?
edit: I just downloaded Linda and there is a setting to view hidden files in the settings.
I just got rid of Linda. I didnt see any settings so I DL'ed Androzip and works fine. Thanks for the help! Much appreciated
No problem.
As for Linda, the settings are accessed by touching the menu button (far left) on the bottom of your phone. If you aren't real used to Linda, then Androzip will suit your needs well.
ahhhh I see what I was doing wrong. I was trying to hit menu /settings from the main screen not after I went into the folder.. oops. lol I figured the settings would have been accessed from the main screen. lol

How to remove a widget? (it won't go away!)

I'm trying to remove widgets from my phone (using CM7, last version) but when I long press the widget, I receive the feedback (vibration) and the trash icon do not appear, neither I can move the widget.
It will be much better if it's no necessary for me to format the phone and install all the apps again!
Could someone help me?
Which launcher are you using?
just uninstall the program and reinstall the program again. no need to reformat the phone.
if it is adwlauncher, press the menu button (at left) > more > unlock desktop. And then try to delete it. Or check the trash can icon position on adw settings

That's it!
I'm yet a little confused moving from WinMo 6 to Android.
Thank you.
some launchers bring this option, is useful when you lend your phone and don't want to someone modify the desktop
You can try delete the app on Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications

[Q] Cannot Access Themer Settings

I'm sure I can't be the first person to do this but i've been searching for a good hour and cannot find a solution. I needed to resize some of the items in the home screen widget so I long press the home screen and selected to unlock the widgets. Got everything fixed to my liking but now there is not way to relock the widgets again and therefor no way to access Themer Settings?
Everywhere I press on the home screen is a widget so I get the widget pop up but no way to access themer settings to relock the widgets or do anything else. If I open themer in the app drawer it just opens the theme store with no way to access settings. I have tried dragging items to create another screen but that doesn't work. Tried downloading Zooper from the Pay Store to relock from there but it doesn't show the themer widgets.
Tried every long press, finger combination, tapping of the screen/ softkeys with no luck.
Am I being incredibly daft here?
