Actually I want to install Gingerbread 2.3.5 but I can't find stock firmware and thats why I download 2.3.3. I installed 2.3.6 GB but I don't like OS cause its black color are very deep and thats why I try to 2.3.3 or any one can give me 2.3.5 then its very helpful for me. Or any one knows that which Gingerbread version for SGS II are good graphics quality? I installed ICS 4.0.4 and it good all over but I like Gingerbread.
Thanks...
Why on Earth would anyone want to go back to GB ?
I only go for the Music Player. I used Jelly Bean, ICS & GB & I think GB/ICS Music player is very loud and clear & deep bass which is Jelly Bean not given...
If you absolutely must, get a one part firmware from Samfirmware & make it easy for yourself (have no idea where you got that firmware from).
Yes I do but I can't find Gingerbread 2.3.5 in samfirmware. Any one please tell me which Gingerbread is good for SGS II?

Hello developers! It's me again stealing your time xD
Well I've installed the custom rom and installed Cyanogenmod RC2 ported to SGA.
It's a great rom working good and stuff just some little bugs need fixing nothing much. But i still like better the stock rom it's more stable and stuff like that... I was searching on google how to do that and found on samfirmware.com or something like that stock roms.
I would like to get my stock rom back like it was when I got it and my Service provicer is Simobil(Vodafone). The only problem is there isn't a rom such as I got it.
I went to the store and there was SGA with the official rom and I saw the informations about phone.
Baseband version: S5830XXKA6
Build Number: FROYO.XWKB4
Does any one know how to get back to that stock if it is possible or something i've searched on samfirmware.com for base version and found the sameone but the build number wasn't the same. I'm not sure about that but if i install that one from samfirmware.com the KIES doesn't find any official updates for my phone and 2.3.3 update in available in Slovenia.
Thank you guys
Flash a full package file .

Hello,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 having Gingerbread FIrmware XXKG3
i m new to android. i want to know is ICS is better then Gingerbread,
if yes, can any1 provide me official latest firmware of ICS which doesnt contacin any bugs.
i saw in some forum that some negative review abt camera n bettery life in ICS, please clear me that ICS is better option or GB.
and please give me Latest Official ICS firmware which doesnt contain any bugs for my Galaxy S2
thankyou
Froyo pawns them both!
There is NO official ICS. Like the rest of the world we have to wait until this is officially available.
Expermiment with the beta's if you like but MAKE SURE you READ everything and know how to get out of sticky situations.
Stick with GB.
GB works ICS works in parts .
But ICS is beloved of noobs that dont have a clue and choose to flash a buggy beta test rom as their first ever flash and then cry help .
Their is no official only leaked buggy beta test builds and some custom roms based on that leak . Easy to find just search the forum .

Palm OS. 10 c
For now GB is better but when offical ics arrives it will be way more better

Hi folks, here is the latest leak available for SGS II. CMLRA. Android 4.0.4.
Enjoy
Flash with odin in PDA
Flash at your own risk, the usual warning.
Mirror :
ok, working mirror this time
Mirror 1
Mirror 2
As usual, if you find this usefull, use the thanks button !
and LOL @ 2nd post saying things before the mirrors are even out.
Just so that you guys know, this isn't leaked by Samsung and is in fact CM9, that's why the name CMLRA. This is pretty misleading for the users since you don't say it clearly in this thread.
Runs perfectly on my SGS2 with its touchwiz goodness.
@OP: Have you tested this on your S2? can we get some screenshots/info etc?
What is this? please some info..thnx
This is CM9 Resurrection Edition for use with Odin from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102
Official or not
Flashing with risk
will you explain CM9 with TW and flash with Odin ? I never see that .
Hi there, there's prolly an answer to my question "somewhere" in this forum, but I'm having hard time finding it, and I have more than 1 question, so i do apologize.
I love XPS stock ICS 4.0.4.......currently have it running on my XPS rooted, somehow, I forgot how I did it rofl.
But my question is.
1 - If I flash the stock ICS 4.0.4 > than > the an ICS Kernal, will that work, and be rooted?
2 - Is there an Already rooted Rom or tft files for XPS ICS?
3 - I use to owned XP Arc, install kernal and go to recovery, and just flash a rom(extension .zip(with this I can mode the apps/theme/icon,etc to the way I like it)), every XPS rom are either stock which is .tft or incomplete or rom with theme i didn't like(with all respect).
Basicly, what I'm looking o do is, installing stock rom, rooted, able to mod/change framework files, etc.
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks.
my first post, please don't flame (too hard).
I've helped others with GPS and Play store glitch after jelly bean update, and now looking for some help.
My wife has an S2 i777 and did SIM unlock to use with T-MO.
It's GB 2.3.6. The PDA is i777 UCKK6.
I'm looking for RTL with Arabic language support. I've done weeks of reading and I found this nice thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292841 But that ONLY supports UCKH7
This phone is not rooted.
Looking for noob instructions for RTL arabic support.
Thanks in advance.
1. Upgrade to ICS and you should have proper Arabic support sans keyboard - AFAIK Hebrew/Arabic/all RTL language support was first introduced on ICS. When on ICS, download any Arabic keyboard from Play Store and you should be good to go.
2. Or move to deodexed GB ROM (any custom ROM) and run madmack's Arabic patcher (google it and you'll find it). It should work on any deodexed GB ROM, since it's based on Hebrew patcher that decompiles/recompiles the framework - but it's also the reason why it can't work on stock odexed ROM.
I suggest option 1.
Thanks Jack.
1) I heard that ICS was a complete failure and has bricked many i777 S2's. Are you saying to root and use custom ROM as opposed to the ATT update?
2) found what deodexed means... www wugfresh .com /guides / deodex/
Do you have any experience with the i777 S2 and ATT ICS OTA update?
Thanks
1. ICS is generally a better system on this phone IMHO. I do suggest moving to it through custom ROMs rather than through stock official upgrade - stock-based custom ROMs offer stock stability with customization options, and EMBRYO 5.4 is a good ROM that I'm happily running. Not sure how relevant the infamous "brickbug" is, but it's irrelevant for most custom ROMs.
If anyone more familiar with "brickbug" can chime in - you might get a better picture. I got mine with Gingerbread, installed TWRP recovery and flashed custom ROM about 1/2 hour after I got the phone, so I have no experience with stock GB/ICS.
2. "Deodexed" means - not odexed. With Google help:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/
Stock ROMs are always odexed, so you'll have to move to a sort of custom ROM anyway. And if you do - you might as well go a better route than staying on GB.
Since I'm the kk6 (2.3.6) GB, do I need to downgrade factory image first in order to root? Or is there a tool out there to root and put a custom ROM (ICS or JB custom ROM).
Thanks
It's not one tool, it's more.
Read the stickies, they contain rooting guides. See that you understand what you're doing before proceeding.
Thanks Jack. I was just wondering if I needed to downgrade GB version first.
No, you don't need.
Just to let you know, there is a thank button to thank the user that helps you.
It's used a lot here on XDA.
You can thank 8 a day.
