Google Music missing equalizer? - HTC Droid DNA

I remember being about to adjust the equalizer before, but now the option isn't there. What gives?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

Are you on a Sense ROM? If so, there is no customizable equalizer. Beats is just, well, Beats.

Google Music has no equalizer. That has long been removed.

Google Play music is long since without an eq.
Maybe an app from the play store?

Music Player

Just trying to get an idea, what music player is everyone using? Currently I'm using Google Music but I have a new pair of headphones coming in the mail in a few days and want to get the best out of them. Share your thoughts!

Google music for the sync ability.

I also use DSP Manager
EDIT: The dropbox link from the thread I got it from is invalid now. I'll link a download to mine. Place it in /system, set permissions (644), then place in /system/app. A reboot may be required for it to appear in your app drawer.

I also use DSP Manager which has several nice tweaks. It's what you're looking for if you want to get the most out of your headphones. You should definitely check that out.

Freaking awesome! I've know about dsp manager. Was happy to see it on the international roms. But it never did anything on my phone. Transferred the one you posted and finally works! Thank you so much!

I love google music. Having all my music in the web and not the phone is a lifesaver.

Personally, I'm using PlayerPro with its DSP Pack add-on for 10 band EQ. And if I happen to be on CM7, I add a little slight bass boost.

Well, looks like most are using Google Music, which is what I'm currently using. Once I get my new headphones, I'll try Google Music and see how the quality sounds.

Hi there. Let me chime in as well. I am using PlayerPro (paid) and I prefer it due to the interface and skin layout. I tried ProAmp and a bunch of others and they are not my cup of tea. I personally don't like google music interface. I also see not much sense in storing my music in the cloud where I can't access it when I am in the air. I am in the process of getting myself a 64GB sdxc and that will hold everything that I currently have on my Zune. As a side, I wish there were an app that lets you use the GS2 with my zune pass subscription, which lets you store your downloaded music subscription etc to your zune player. Currently you can't play this content on the GS2. I am using Klipsch S4 and they are excellent, and for air travel I may switch them on occasion with my audio-technica noise cancelling ear buds.

The EQ app? Just "Equalizer" from the market. I use it since G-Music sounds flat out of the box.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
I think PlayerPro has the best interface/sound combo with PowerAmp a close second. I've paid for both.
PlayerPro is the easiest/most intuitive of any player I've tried. The ability to pick the artist photos is a huge plus in my book.
Also, I own those Klipsch S4 earbuds. They sound great!

[Q] Best app for music

someone knows what is the best application for listening to music in SGS2?
Neutron Music player for the best sound quality. Try rockbox as well, but it has a horrible UI
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Not any recommendation but FYA is currently reviewing 15 music apps so you might want to look out there for reference.
Only part 1 is out so far though: http://www.freeyourandroid.com/inthenews/massive-music-part-1
Winamp

I personally use poweramp and I love it.
I recommend PowerAMP if you can buy it, because it has lots of features that I haven't found in other music players. It's perfect and I use it as my main music player. Otherwise, CM9's Music player app is pretty great too.
Winamp Pro
Paid version of Poweramp.
FX Booster sound effect of MusicFX + stock Android music player = Awesome..
And it is free.

What program sees music and categorises it as folders in the playlist?
I use and purchased poweramp
You can list as folders
+1 for PowerAMP.

Google Music so I can stream my audio from anywhere along with Spotify Premium.
Miui player is decent as well, PowerAmp on sale today also a good player.

What's so bad about the stock music player?
Ubermusic or PlayerPro. I find they're excellent players.

Player pro is excellent
Poweramp is on offer this weekend, last few hours though! Get it while it's hot!

Power amp plus you add beats sound audio driver is very amazing combination
In my opinion, the POWERAMP application is the best.

poweramp no doubt. it's tried and true. also, the audio-tweaking options are unmatched.
for player pro, you have to install a dsp package...i don't know about you, but the less i have to install, the better. poweramp is the all inclusive package that makes your music sound many times better.
When it comes to sound quality, I think PowerAmp is the best by far. On the other hand, n7player has a GUI more pleasing to the eye. And also, there is the price, but if You want to enjoy the music in its fullest I say go with PowerAmp. I use it myself and just love it.

No you don't. PlayerPro comes with an EQ like PowerAmp, but you can add the DSP package if you want to. IMO PowerAmp is all flash and bling with OK audio, while PlayerPro concentrates on being easy to navigate and deliver great sound. Like PowerAmp you can tweak the audio exactly like you want it and the DSP addon only allows you to push it a little further.
But between PowerAmp and N7? PowerAmp aaaall the way.
I know it's not listed but for the audiophile there can be only one player: Neutron Music Player.
Really just try it. Better than poweramp
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
PlayerPro FTW! For me the best music player, i tried PowerAmp but i dont like its UI, PlayerPro is much easier to use.
now Poweramp is the best audio player for android device but for the best quality of sounds you should use some other thinks like audiobeats or scripts to get better voice
How awesome wouldn't it be if somebody resourceful made a meticulous blind test using different Android music playback options on a high end system!
Personally I find minimal difference in image, width and dynamics between different player apps; voodoo sound is what makes real impact in my ears.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Well the dsp engine in neutron mp really shines. It also features enhanced audio interpolation methods (1GHz+ CPU required for best quality) and Ambiophonics R.A.C.R. DSP. Try it people!

Fantastic sound can be had from the 10 band EQ, and it has decent presets. The UI is gorgeous and its very simple to manipulate, even when you're on the go. It plays everything i throw at it, and i can change tags/artwork from within the app... the list goes on
Been using PowerAMP for about 2 years now, and it's still the best

Yup, that would be interesting. But we'd need an audiophile for that. Anyone interested? Download the PowerAmp, PlayerPro demos and other players and share your thoughts.
the problem is... some demo only lasted for 30 sec... will be hard to really test the software... unless errr... nevermind
Wuut? PowerAmp and PlayerPro demos lasts for two weeks.

Yup, I agree its the best one I've used so far
Have you tried doubletwist? It's not too bad.
I like Google Play Music the best because the interface looks really snazzy and the homescreen widget looks good next to the other stock ICS widgets. The cloud sync features are also pretty useful.
Player pro or Poweramp. I use Poweramp.
I use the Poweramp, but i like the winamp too.
I'm fairly certain by now I've tried them all and not one was even close to as useful as Poweramp. I bought it because I liked it that much!
It's packed full of useful options and features, hard to avoid this one!
Ironically, the best music player I've found was the stock one in CM9 before they switched to Apollo.
Aside from that, I'd recommend poweramp, just don't expect any support for it. Last I checked their support forums was full of spam and hadn't seen any non-newb questions getting answered in months.
Poweramp because it's equalizer remains the best. Player Pro's eq isn't a good in my opinion but it is still a solid player.
I like n7player
