It is the most peculiar scenario, but my S3's LED seems to have gone haywire. Usually I use the JKay LED theme or if required switch to Light Manager in case I want to customize the notifications for other applications.
Everything worked fine for me since the beginning of time till a couple of days back when I was on MG4. However, I flashed MG6 about a couple of days back and observed a green LED instead of the usual blue on boot which I chose to ignore. However, now I find that irrespective of whatever setting I select for the LED, it does not display anything beyond green/greenish orange for notifications. The charging colour seems fine with Red/Green.
Since then I have toggled the JKay LED settings, installed/uninstalled Light Manager/Light Flow, toggled the Samsung LED settings, switched off WiFi n/w notifications and any other thing that may impact the LED. I have changed kernels/modems, switched back to the old efs partition, flashed old ROMs.
However, the phone is stuck with the default green option and when I test the other colours with Light Manger, I get the following results:
Red = Red
Orange = Greenish Orange
Yellow = Greenish Yellow
Green = Green
Blue = No colour
Pink = Red
Purple = Red
White = Greenish Yellow
Cyan = Green
This makes me wonder whether the blue component of the LED has ceased to work. Has anyone else ever encountered this previously? If this is a hardware fault, is there anyway to get it replaced officially (phone is theoretically under warranty)?
Should have been in the "Help & Troubleshooting" section. Had to switch browsers due to a problem and mistakenly ended up here. A shift of the thread would be much appreciated.

Solved
I have reported the thread for movement and hope that some moderator will rectify my unintentional mistake.
For posterity, if anyone else comes across this unique problem, it was solved by formatting the Internal SD. Formatting every other partition (not counting External SD) did not resolve the issue.
What caused the blue component of the LED to disable itself and make it dependent on the Internal SD is beyond me, but the possibility and the solution exists. Simply glad that it is not a hardware issue.

THIS ISN'T YELLOW TINT
Hi, I noted that on my Xperia s there is the pixel resistance with yellow colors, in particular you can see it watching app titles in menu and changing page : you will see words not white, but yellow. Also with the notification bar, when you open it from the top of the screen also if you force shut down the last color that you see is yellow. You can see it in a lot or situation
Anyone knows why?
P.s I think it couldn't be fix by software update
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
have you done a software repair with the sony update service? if not then back up everything and start doing it.
Yes , i did this yesterday cause I tested cm9.0 (full internal memory wipe)
Whenever I turn off my Galaxy SIII in to stand-by mode, my LED light indicator stays on, and is a brighter white color, with some green and red, instead of the normal blue flash that it gives for notifications. It doesn't blink, it just stays on constantly. It only does this when there are notifications.
Anyone else having this issue?
You just answered your own question. If you have notifications, the notification LED will be on to tell you about it when the screen is off. Remove the notifications and the light will turn off. Alternatively, use Lightflow to get better control of the notification LED.
I am aware that the LED light comes on for notifications, however, it seems as though the LED light is glitches for this one situation. I have narrowed it down to Google+ as the reason for when it does this constant white light. It doesn't go off, the LED just stays white. I will just have to disable notifications for Google+. Thanks for your help!
light flow is verry good, i love it
try it out and cancel the notification if its annoying you
I'm with AT&T, my GS3 only show red led when it's in standby mode, most of the time it's red LED. I've never seen blue/white led show on it except during boot up I think blue or white lid up. What's red led mean? White/blue mean? Thx
Also the charging light is orange or red? But it doesn't seem to change to green when it's fully charge! I'll try again tonight to confirm! Only thing I did is root it with supersu cwm only everything stock! Is there something wrong?

hey i'm having the same issue. i have a verizon version and have turned off all led notifications inside the menu options (charging, low battery and missed notificaitons). i also tried clearing all notifications, rebooting phone, etc and this behavior still happens.
as for using the lightflash program, that's not really an option for the us phones as there is a bug in the app with the us versions of the phone.

i was able to fix my issue with a factory reset, but i haven't fully reinstalled all my apps. i am basically not reinstalling any apps that have to ability to prevent my phone from sleeping and have ability to control notificaitons. i have narrowed it down to 5 apps that may be causing this issue and slowly add each one back to see which one is the culprit.
Hi there,
Has any of you have any luck changing the color (and/or blinking behavior) of the notification led (e.g. when an sms is received)?
On my CM7'ed Desire I had full control - e.g. from Go SMS - but with this Desire X I'm stuck with the default green blinking.
I just rooted and flashed Elegancia on today, hoping that would put me (or the apps, actually) in control, but no...
BR,

I believe there are apps that will let you change your LED on your phone.
Sent from my GSM Galaxy Nexus
Only two colors on Desire X if I remember correctly.
Why would you want to change the colour. Maybe i am missing something .:cyclops:Green seems ok and orange when charging is also ok.
hi
Missed call or SMS -LED flashes only 5min.This is the problem.
ORA1: It's annoying that when I leave the phone at home, and a notification-event occurs that I don't hear, I cannot see from the LED which event happened (remember I didn't hear, I just glance at the phone every and so often when I pass it). Then it's super nice to be able to see if it is a missed call, an SMS, an email, and so and so forth.
Also, the standard blinking behavior - blinking briefly every 1-1.5 seconds - is silly. It requires starring at the phone for a second to judge if an event is there. A constant LED is much nicer.
That's why
Klapo, yeah, but mixing the red with the green, you get an orange So, three colors, and if I could control the blinking, that's infinite combinations ;P
Obj261, after trying different apps, I stumbled over "Light Flow 3.5.2 (lite)". Its the only one that I've seen being able to control the LED succesfully. But obviously I'm too stupid to make it work (consistently) beyond the "testing capabilities" from within the app
I hoped that others have had this need, as well :/
I would just want to know if it's RGB or just green/orange.
I would love to control it via LightFlow but the hardware must support it first.
katman4, it's only green, orange and red.
(But still I haven't found the magic setting in lightflow that makes it work consistently, so be aware of that)
Now someone can design an app that when you have a notification of any sort the whole screen flashes in a colour.
Cant be too difficult for one of the boffins to design:good::good::good::good::victory::victory:
Just got a refurbished ATT HTC One X+, right away unlocked bootloader, twrp recovery, flashed latest colored version elegancia rom to be right back to where i was. Everything is fine but noticing the green led notification light is buggy!
When i get a missed call the green led light just stays full lit, does not blink just stay on until i check my device and after i see the missed call the green light finally turns off.
When i get a text message it blinks like normal. When i wake up the device though the green led stays fully lit and does not turn off until i check the new text message.
When i get a new e-mail i get ZERO led notification light!
Problem is that i didn't mess with this device when it came in the mail to see if it was working before so have nothing to compare it to. I do install the rom with full wipe to be safe and everything else seems to be working as it should. I'm sure i could try a full factory reset but just hate to erase everything from SD card and go through all that so saving that as a last resort option.
I do have under settings all the stock settings and using stock HTC messaging app and dialer/phone. Under LED notifications all are checked but not working as it should.
Not sure if there is a fix someone could direct me too or just got a bunk refurbished device? Trying to now get ANOTHER refurbished device replacement but will create another thread on that.
I know the title sounds crazy, so let me explain.
I've had this issue for quite a long time now but never gotten into it.
Basically, when I open a white image or whatever light colored app/background, I can recognize a Whatsapp conversation in transparency, almost like it's stuck underneath the display.
So I tried opening the recovery to clear cache and I noticed the same exact thing when the recovery was loading (light blue background).
You can find a picture below. The top portion is my phone's display while the bottom is a screenshot found on Google (cause I needed the old layout for Whatsapp chats).
By the way, the phone I'm having trouble with is a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge updated to Android 7.0 (the update didn't fix the issue).
Thanks to everyone in advance
This is known as image retention or burn-in. It is a characteristic of OLED/AMOLED displays when the same images are held at high brightness/intensities for long periods of time. There are apps/tools/methods which claim to reduce, remove or in some way fix the problem but please do your research as there is a good chance they can make the problem worse or introduce new problems. I have not investigated further other than methods of prevention. Also, organic light emitting diodes/pixels have a given lifespan. The screen will lose brightness and color accuracy over time. Blue diodes will fade first, then green, then red.
