Chrome (browser) sync doesn't work on my Xperia Z tablet (on my Galaxy Note 2 no problem). After activation enable sync (in other devices) nothing happens. Sync (in services) was switched from on to off. Back to on doesn't help, because it switched again off... In settings/app I uninstalled the chrome updates, but that doesn't help too..
Am I the only one experiencing the problem on the Xperia Z tablet (16GB)?

Solved.. I run the Setup Guide in (system) Settings again and activate "Sync automatically" ...
I have already run the setup guide after buying the Xperia Z tablet (early July), but now appears, the Sync was not activated. IMHO this important option belongs not in the system setup which you usually run one time.
Solution
Here's the solution that will fix your problem.
Follow the instructions below, do not skip any steps.
Desktop Chrome Settings
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Advanced Sync Settings
3. Choose either Sync Everything or ensure Open Tabs is ticked
Android Settings
1. Go to your System Settings
2. Under Accounts, go to Google
3. Select your Google Account email address
4. Ensure Chrome is ticked
Android Chrome Settings
1. Go to Settings
2. Under Basics, click on your Google Account email address
3. Tick Chrome to Mobile
4. Click on Sync
5. Choose either Sync Everything or ensure Open Tabs is ticked
Now, the tabs you open in your desktop will be available on your Android, under the Synced Tab (at the bottom, next to the Favourites (star) tab).
The tabs you open in your Android will also be available on your desktop, under Menu -> Recent Tabs.

Anyone having trouble with the stock ICS browser not loading after enabling the quick controls in the labs menu? All I get is a white screen.
The google account sync also wont sync my browser settings, it keeps saying its experiencing problems.
Labs menu stuff is more of experimental stuff they testing out. A better alternative to stock browser is one called ICS+ browser. Its from the maker of thumb keyboard. Its really good and getting rave reviews right now. Athens maker made a thread in apps n themes section on it. plus it's free and plays flash. Does everything stick does n more, only better n faster. Another good one which is the fastest is Opera Mobile browser.
As far as Google bookmark syncs go, its been happening for a while now. Many people reported it not working right or doing like you said.
Here's how to fix the sync issue
I had a couple of sync issues prior to ICS, and the Browser sync issue after updating to ICS. Yo need to go to your google dashboard: www.google.com/dashboard while signed in on your google accout (the amount of data they have on your prefences for a dozen or so apps is freaking scary) Clear caches and settings in there, then clear the broser cache on TFP. If you can in the state yours is in, I cannot say. You MAY have to har reset or wipe to fix it, but it's not as bad as it used to be. If you have it set to backup your account, settings and market apps, you could have 95% of it back in an hour (I had 170 apps to reinstall, for a seperate issue) and then it's just setting a few prefs, good luck.

I corrected the bookmark sync issue by:
1. On the tablet, disable the sync in Settings > Accounts
2. Go to Google dashboard in Chrome on your PC https://www.google.com/dashboard/
3. Click Stop Sync and delete data from Gogole
4. Refresh the dashboard page until the deletion is complete
5. On the tablet, re-enable the bookmark sync
6. On the PC, sign in to your account in Chrome to start sync again

THIS order worked for me! As long as you don't sign into chrome before you check it on your TFP, it should work. Hope this helps other people
Anyone else having trouble getting their desktop chrome bookmarks to sync automatically with their sgs3???
I haven't been able to get my bookmarks to sync since I got this phone and its driving me nuts. I've checked most if not all settings on my phone and the desktop browser and can't figure it out
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated

so you have signed in on your desktop browser, aka you see a section called other devices when you open a new tab? Is this the first device that you have tried to sync with?
Assuming you're signed in to chrome, in your desktop chrome app under the settings menu click on "Signed in as......"
Then under "Sign In" click on "Advanced sync settings..."
Under "Chose what to sync" make sure "Bookmarks" and "Open Tabs" are selected.
That should do it. In Chrome on your phone under "Bookmarks" there should be folders for the bookmarks on your desktop.
Nope, mine synced up fine

This is not my first time syncing chrome bookmarks with my android device. I've owned quite a few android devices and always had bookmarks automatically synced. That's part of the reason why I'm so confused about why it's not working now. I haven't changed any settings. :crying:
I do see "other devices" when I open a new tab and I verified those settings

Thanks for the suggestion. I almost forgot where to find the settings for this because it's been so long since I've made any changes to them. I verified they are correct.
I had a GSM Galaxy Nexus, and a HTC One X and sync worked just fine on those devices.
I did just noticed under "accounts and sync" that for some reason "Sync Internet" has a red exclamation saying that sync is having problems. I've been into "accounts and sync" settings many times before and today is the first time I've seen this since I got the phone on 6/25.
For anyone else that may be having this same issue with the native browser, I found a fix.
I went to settings, accounts and sync, selected my gmail account, and unchecked "sync internet". Then I went to "manage apps" in settings and selected "clear data" so my browser could start like a fresh install. After clearing data I went back to account and sync and checked "sync internet" again and all is well.
I'm not really sure what initially created this problem for me, but glad it's fixed
Hello.
I'm using stock rom, rooted and installed CWM, the phone works fine for a few days, then it freezes for a while and shows "process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I can 100% reproduce this by opening stock browser and browse for about 30 seconds, then it freezes for 10 more seconds, then shows FC.
Several times the phone rebooted itself, but not exactly all the way, there was no ATT and Samsung logos, everything went black for a minute, then everything started loading like it just booted.
Anyone else having this or similar issues?
I get this also. Only had one reboot. I'm stock. Maybe that's my problem!
I was using Chrome when this one happened.

I was having the same problem on a stock, unrooted phone. I was able to determine that disabling the "Internet" item in the sync settings for my google accounts made the problem go away. Re-enabling it almost immediately causes the FC problem to return. That item seems to be toggling the syncing of bookmarks from my desktop Chrome browser with the phone browser, which I can do without.

Running stock all the way for now. Same issue. I installed Chrome, disabled sync for internet in my Google account as mentioned above, and enabled sync in the Chrome settings. Better browser, better experience, and no more FCs.
Same here - stock but rooted. Fortunately disabling internet sync fixed the FC issues.

I forget where I found the solution but here's what I did to fix the same problem.
1) Go to Settings > Accounts and sync
2) Remove your Google account
3) Go to Settings > Application Manager
4) Go to "All" tab
5) Find Google Services Framework and open it
6) Select Clear data (for Google Services Framework)
7) Go back to Accounts and sync and add you Google account
That solved it for me.

Hmmmm assuming you have internet synced, try open built-in web browser, will it give you FC?
I have motorola defy running CM10, and I can sync chrome bookmarks using chrome for android. But the app is a bit laggy on defy, so I am using stock android browser and here is a method to sync bookmark between chrome browsers and android browser:
When you go to Android browser it only shows your local bookmarks. Whenever you try to go to settings -> accounts and sync it says that there is a problem in Sync Browser, yet it doesn’t say what exactly the problem is. If you have faced this problem here is the solution you were continuously looking for.
How to Fix Sync Browser Problem in Android?
I identify this problem as a bug when interfacing different Google products. The root cause of problem is Google desktop browser supports encryption for all data types while Android browser supports only for passwords. If you have already encrypted entire data only thing you can do is clear all the data and start it again with only password encryption. Here is how to do it and sync Chrome bookmarks with Android browser.
Go to Google Dashboard confirming your password.
Scroll down to section chrome sync and click on Stop sync and delete data from Google.
This will delete entire synced browser data in Google account and it might take few minutes.
Now open Google chrome, go to Settings.
There you can find sign in section. Click sign in to chrome. Here you will have to generate Application specific password if you have enabled Two Step verification.
Then it will take you to Confirm sync settings window.
Click advance and make sure you have selected encrypt passwords only. If you encrypt all synced data android browser won’t be able to work with them.
Click OK to proceed with syncing.
In your android Smartphone go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> browser and Clear data.
Now go to Settings -> Accounts & sync. You will be able to see Sync browser is working fine now.
Open the browser and go to Bookmarks. Now you can see all the Bookmarks that you have in desktop browser in your Android Smartphone browser as well.

I had this issue before, i did what you said, it worked. Now just few days ago, as i wiped chrome sync/restarted it, the stock browser sync started to fail again.
Problem is i DID NOT select ENCRYPT ALL, only passwords, yet it definitly refuse to sync, no matter how many time i delete/restart sync on chrome, wipe data on android..
I know it's an old post,but... Thank you! This thing bothered me for last week.I didn't do anything, just changed rom from cm10.1 to paranoid and this sh.t happened.

This sync browser solution it's only for Android 4.0 and 4.1 not for gingerbread.
You need to use an special .apk that is men't to do just that. I thinkbit called ChromeBookmarSync.apk or something like that. Just google "AOSP browser without root" and you will fibd it. I can't give you any links becouse im on mobile, but you will find it.

Hi
I have 5 devices.
A. WIN 10 laptop
B. WIN 7 laptop
C. ASUS Android 4.4 Tablet
D. GALAXY S8 +.
E. Galaxy POCKET NEO Android 4.1.2.
On all devices the sync works fine, except the last one the sync of the Google account works fine only the sync of the chrome does not work (until how long ago it worked), if I enable the sync of chrome via settings> Accounts> Google> (my account)> the device shows That it works, but when I open the sync chrome is automatically disabled, (when I open the settings in chrome it "thinks" non-stop) also that it did not sync at all, i.e. it will not import any bookmarks.
Well then what I tried:
A. Log out of Google Chrome account and log in again.
B. Remove the chrome and reinstall. It goes back to the manufacturer version, then I installed the current version 42.0. (Sync did not work in the manufacturer version either)
C. I tried to find something in Chrome experiments, (CHROME://FLAGS) I tried a few things, and it did not help.
What else can be done?
Hi, try upgrading to Android 5.1.1 unofficially, android 4 is discontinued by google
