You are asking support for installing pirated applications which would not be appreciated by anyone. The fact is that every version of the pirated app would have a different digital signature and won't replace the previous one unlike legally side loaded applications which carry the same signature.

There goes your answer. You're sideloading apps that's not from the playstore. You can't sideload apks if it doesn't come from the playstore since it has security checks such as that to avoid conflicts.

Guess I'll just have to backup the app, reinstall it and restore it. Its a drag but looks like I've got no choice.

And just for your best interest... buy original apps from it's developers cause like @t3chg33k says no one here is encouraging you to use pirated apps. Buy from the developers, it's one way of thanking them for their hardwork.

Yes, I am aware of that. My ISP has blocked Google Play however. I kinda have no other option. I dont support piracy but cant avoid it either.

I doubt that it'll help. My ISP is a cheap one and hasnt been either helpful or reliable recently.
But I'll give it a shot, just in case.

Hi,
when I started this project i wanted to make an appstore for Windows Mobile where everyone can upload and download apps without paying anything.
Now thats the result:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Whats the idea of the XDA Market?
There is already an appstore for Windows Mobile (MS Marketplace) BUT you have to pay money in order to publish your apps.
So I started developing the XDA Market. Everything here is for free. I want to give developers the possibility to get much user and much feedback, without paying.
XDA Market is an appstore for everyone:
Developers
-Upload your own apps for everyone without paying anything.
-Everyone can access and download your app without the need of a registration.
-Publish updates through xda market: Be sure everyone will get it.
-Detailed download statistic.
Users
-Browse through apps for your device.
-Rate, comment and download them.
-Favorite apps and never miss an update.
Main features:
-Client for Windows Mobile
-Automatic update function for the client.
-Message system.
The Download for the Client and much more can be found here:

As far as why devs aren't uploading, it looks like you only released it a few days ago... Give it time. The vid looks very promising!
Once I release the next version of my KD-Font app, I'll look into uploading it into your app store.
Thanks!
Seems like a nice idea, but doesn't seem to work on my phone (HTC Tilt, Windows Mobile 6.5). I get scrollbars (both at the side and the bottom), the title (XDA Market), but other than that, nothing shows.

try to delete an app from your account or change anything. i spoke for a long time with google developer on the phone and they strictly forbid it. no exceptions! if you switch phones alot and do not want to create a new gmail account for each new phone, you will understand what i mean.

If it's from your phone it's not installed, it's simply a value in their DB that IF you get a new device you can simply download that app again.
I don't want to be mean, but you sound like a paranoid parrot to me.
Or did you buy some freaky app which continues to haunt you?
Someone grab my foil hat!
i do ALOT of 'testing' and 'repairing' and i do not need google hammering me about apps everytime a swap an esn or a phone. i tried to clear market accounts to stop this and you can not! see my above post. you telling me as soon as you swap phones and sign in to market you do not get notices? it eats bandwidth and slows me down when testing. if you do not think google records everything in detail and it is associated with your specific esn/meid I.E. you, you are waaaaay too much a noob. they even say it on tv from crying out loud, lol. or just call them and use some social engineering and speak with a developer
cheers,
disco
spc_hicks09, i'm not that paranoid anymore, when i was i would just goto a sprint store and 'test' a display unit and make a phone call from it then 'repair' another phone and therefore i appeared as if i was calling from a sprint display fone. lol that was years ago.
cheers,
disco

because "googling apps" is also common to pirating apps. And even if you do it for FREE apps, its a waste of time.
you guys really need to get rid of your phones. I don't think they deserve this much paranoia from their owners. end their lives for gods sake.

Why not just use another method? There are tons of apps for android to allow you to make free phone calls from the prime. There might be a way around doing it through browser. I never really messed with the Google one.
I wouldn't be waisting my time complaining here if there was other alternates. there is no other service out there that offers free VOIP phone calls through the US except Google's phone through Gmail.
Google Gmail phone is the first of its kind that I seen since the old phonefree.com and Net2Phone offering free VOIP calls, although those had limits, Google has no limits for US callers.
For the life of me I can't figure out why this is not available to a Google Android operating system. If they at the very least designed Chrome Beta like the Windows Chrome browser, the service would be available. But no!!! Chrome Beta and ICS Browser are like imitation browsers compared to the browsers on the Windows platform that these services are usable on.
Because carriers dont want you to be able to easily make voip calls they want you to buy more minutes from them. Androids sucess and profitability depends on the carriers selling phones running android.

The "gmail phone" you speak of is an extension of google voice. Sign up for a google voice number and login with your google id on the grooveip app.
Voila! free calls to US/Canada from anywhere in the world.
I live in Dubai and use it to call my GF in New york all the time.
Gee, it's too bad there are no alternatives that allow you to make free VOIP calls.
Something like SIPDroid sure would be handy. Well if you can't get SIPDroid on your Prime maybe there is another possibility (or 5).
Maybe if you'd ask about something rather than just gripe and moan, assuming that it can't be done, you'd get some assistance rather than a dose of sarcasm.
You might not want to try to set up a SIP provider though. It will take some research, some reading, and you might have to <gasp> Google for some information. Nevermind the possibility of searching on XDA for information.
People say I'm critical, but that's part of critical thinking. That's a skill you may want to try to develop.

If you had instead posted something like "Hey guys! any of you know how to make free VOIP calls through android like i can through gmail on my computer?" that might have yeilded some results. or just GOOGLE voip calls through android and you get dozens of results.
Instead you come here and cry because its not already done for you. Sorry, no sympathy from me. There ARE ways to get help, this is not one of them.

Hey everyone. I've been searching for hours and I just can't come up with anything...
I just got a S3 yesterday (switching over from the iPhone 4). I'm in Taiwan by the way...so I'm guessing this is the international version of the phone?
I'll post all the "about device" info just in case...
Model Number: GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: I9300XXLG3
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-570657-user

I installed Groove IP Lite on my phone and it allows me to use Google Voice with wifi, which is great, but I want to purchase the pro version to use on 3G! When I tried to do that Google Play Store says, "Item not available in your country."
When I used the iPhone, all I had to do was switch Apple accounts to a different country but now I am completely lost as to what to do.
Here are several things I tried:
1. VPN (I have excellent VPN on my computer, so I added it to my phone too.)
It connected, I was even able to reach Netflix, but unfortunately it would not let me into the US Google Play Store.
2. I tried looking for "Market Enabler" and "Market Unlocker" but I cannot find them in the store!
What I want to do: I want to install two apps. Google Voice for texting back to the States and GrooveIP Pro for being able to call both on wifi and 3G network.
If at all possible, I don't want to "root" the phone, because I honestly have no clue what I'm doing and seeing as how there are so many versions of this phone, I'm really afraid of screwing up.
Please, can someone help me do what I need to do?
I tried to learn a bit about all this but...I still can't figure out what is apk...
So...sorry! I'm really really new to this. It's my first android phone.
Thanks everyone!
Apk is the extension for android apps. Just like exe is for windows app. Market enablers will need root as far as I know.

MOD Edit: Posting warez is against the rules
Need I remind you this is a developer forum. You posting a link to a paid app is a huge slap in the face of the developers in this community. Would you go to an album release party and try to peddle pirated copies of the album? No? Then why would you do it here?

You could try turning on your VPN and creating a new play store account. When you initially set up your account it might have pegged it as a Taiwan account, so even if you use your VPN, it will still put you as Taiwan.
Not sure it will work, but worth a try.
That or root your phone and use market enabler. The rooting process is quite simple, search the forum for the Chainfire (CF-Root) and read how it works. After download it takes like a minute.
