It will only work on Samsung Touch Whiz roms. No chance of it on the ultra. You can't even use it on Samsung hardware while running AOSP roms.

By the way, here is not for asking question section.
and to answer you, S Note high possible need Samsung twframework-res.apk, which means not working.

what is so special on xperia z or xperia design?

i bought 2 weeks ago a i9300. on i9300 android development much xperia z look roms, and i want know what is so special ? i find it generally xperia design & apps ugly and nothing special.
what do you guys think ?
For starters, Sony is very dev friendly and all of their devices have had the qualcomm SoC's meaning it makes for very good aosp roms. ^^
you can shower while using the xperia z. now that's hardcore for smartphone addicts.

z1 = z ultra, same or not?

I have a wild thinking, could this be possible? Z ultra and z1 are not that much different, I'm sure we can get all benefit of z1, any development done there can be use in z ultra right? Correct me if I'm wrong

It's technically the same device, just with a larger screen and worse camera.
Well, the development for this phone kind of slow, i remember when i use samsung s2, so much development and i keep changing rom, if not that much people use this phone, i hope any development in Z1 will benefit us

Yup, you're right. They use the same internals, so it should be possible to cross-develop between these two devices, much like what's being done with the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note (same internals, only the Note has a bigger screen).

Yea I kind of agree....but listen we just started and already running Cyanogen, which is extremely stable for beta
Soon we will get more rom's/themes
Oh yea remember Z1 is better cuz the camera (and smaller screen providing little bit more FPS )
Stay tuned.

[Q] Porting of Z1 Kernels / ROMs possible?

Hello,
after browsing the Z1 Forum I saw, that many of the Z Ultra Roms are outdated in comparison to the Z1.
I thought both devices got similar hardware? Why is there a big difference?
Is there an easy way to port roms/kernels from the z1 to our z ultra?

Question regarding purchasing an Xperia Z Ultra

Hey everyone. New here.
I am looking at buying an Xperia Z Ultra and am wondering which edition you guys prefer. I have a choice of the Sony Android version or the Google Play edition. Which one do you think is better, seeing as they are both the same price.
Thanks in advance

if you need an LTE device, your choice will be between C6833 and C6806. The advantage of C6806 is the updates from Google, but both are fantastic phones... :good:

Note that Sony also sell the c6806 not just google.
What area/carrier? may make a difference to choice
I think you should choose the Sony version as you can convert it into GPe later on if you want. I personally prefer the Sony one as it's really beautiful and functional.

I have the C6806 GPE. Currently 335.00 at Expansys. Great phone, and I'm happy I went with the GPE. I can't find any of the bugs others had mentioned in the newest OTA.
I prefer the Ultra over my Nexus 5 and Oneplus One
I just bought the C6833 in White for £216 brand new, I'm not really a fan of vanilla android experience as it's too barebones for me, I just love the Sony software and feels like it gives more of a unique look than vanilla does. With the wonderful people on these forums, you can always convert it to GPe though (and back), give your self the best of both worlds imo.

There haven't been any announcements that I am aware of, we did get the 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 updates pretty quickly. With the Z3 and Z3 compact being released we will be a little further down the list if we do get it. I would guess we will see it eventually though.

There where some posts on the tech websites quoting rumors or unnamed sources a few days ago listing which Sony phones would get L. One listed Z Ultra and one listed T3 Ultra even though they probably came from same source. Until Sony confirms it or it shows up on my phone it is all speculation.

There was an official announcement about which Xperia devices would NOT get further upgrades a few weeks ago, and the Ultra wasn't on that list.
Generally, Android devices receive official updates for the first 18 months, so I'd imagine we'll be seeing L almost as quickly as the Z1 and Z2.

As I have said before, the zu and the z1 are on the same rollout is same build no's. So I think that if the z1 gets L we will. And if not it should be an easy port from either the z2 or the GPe

I would think that if the GPe got Android L, then the Xperia version would as well. And vice versa.
We should get L as Sony is better with updates now for their flagships. The Z saw quite a few major updates and so should the Z1 family. Ours falls in the z1 family so yeah we should be getting L. Even the Z series may get it at some point in time. Who knows. That would be really good from Sony
