Guys need help from you guys!
I have a LG Optimus G (E977), I was trying to sync my email (exchange) on PAC-MAC rom (4.3), and asked me to perform the encryption, I selected yes and put my PIN.
The phone rebooted normally and started to encrypt, appeared with the option for me to put in the password, and the phone was saying that the password was wrong.
I went into recovery, formatted all data (data, cache, system) and performed the restoration by LG Support Tool, but it still keeps asking me the password to decrypt the phone.
Currently I can not access neither fastboot nor recovery, he also realizes not reset after several attempts with the wrong password.

I encrypted my LG Optimus g E970 using the option in cyanogenmod under security. It prompted me for a pin using a keypad, and I carefully entered a 4 digit pin. At the end of the encryption process, it rebooted and promted me with "Enter password to decrypt storage." Instead of a pin, there was a text box and full android keyboard. I entered my pin, and it said "Try Again." It did not lock me out at all for any amount of time no matter how many passwords I tried. I tried rebooting it, and had the same problem. If I leave the device on without typing in a password, it makes a clicking sound after a minute or so every ten seconds. I can't factory reset in TWRP because it can't mount /data. What should I do?
Set the phone back to factory mode by LGNPSTing it. I had a similar problem with stock rom. Had to lgnpst it as recovery didnt helped flash new roms.

Did you ever get encryption working? I've been unable to encrypt my /data partition with the following ROMs:
BeanStalk-4.4.205-20140103-geeb
carbon_geeb-2014-01-04
cm-10.2.0-e970
cm-11-20140104-SNAPSHOT-M2-e970
purity_geeb_ota_2014-01-05
However, I am able to get it working with the stock AT&T image (ATT-Stock-E97020j).
The symptoms are the same: appears to encrypt correctly, however the pin doesn't work.

Hey i'm having the same problem, just got the same phone (LG optimus G e970) 3 weeks ago cause i signed a new 2 year contract, got it rooted and then tried to encrypt and it's not letting me in even though i'm sure the PW is right. someone told me LGNPST might work and i tried doing the steps and it was no good. Anyone have any way of remedying this problem? I have ATT and if all else fails i'll just return to the store to get the encryption off but will they give me any flack if they know it's been rooted? Thanks
Hi there,
Recently decided to encrypt my phone. Unfortunately the process hanged with the information "Remaining time 00:00". I waited for 24 hours and rebooted the device. Unfortunately now userdata is encrypted and whatever password I type it sais sth like "You password is correct but the data i samaged. Please reset your phone". I have one critical app, that I need to recover - yes I forgot to do backup (I was sure I did, but I was wrong). Is there any way to recover the data.
At the moment of encryption SIM card was inserted and security pattern 4x4 enabled. The phone is HTC ONE m8, OS is CM13.0 (6.0 Marshmallow). I am familiar with how encryption works (more or less), twrp, fastboot etc. Just need some ideas...
I'm running the latest Validus Nougat ROM for OnePlus 3. I decided to add a password and encrypt my phone. So I ticked the force encryption and I figured I'd also tick the dmverity option in Magisk and then went and created my password and required password to boot. Reboot my phone and incorrect password. Tried more than a few times before booting to recovery and inputting the same password there to decrypt partition. It works...
So how is it possible that the same password that can decrypt properly through TWRP is incorrect when used to try and boot to system? And also can I recover my data? I did make a full backup 3 weeks ago so it's not the end of the world but a little annoying.
I followed instructions to lock the bootloader/flashing of my Moto G5 Plus. I did it from bootloader, and it stated that the process would delete user data. I did it anyway. When the phone turns back on it asks me for a pattern. I enter the pattern that is set up but it says that its wrong. I try to fail so that I have the option to access through google, but that option never appeared.
I went back to the bootloader and tried to factory reset it, but it doesn't do it. I can't do anything form bootloader because the USB debugging is turned off now.
My guess is that the phone deleted all my used data, but failed to restore factory defaults. Therefore, it asks for a pattern that doesn't exist.
Can any of you think of a solution for this problem? I don't have the recovery anymore (deleted when I tried to turn my phone back to stock).
Thanks in advance!
