Ver. 4.0.3

Failed on odin

Failed in Odin? Click the link in my signature and follow that.
Just a hint, if you want to get help, you need to give us something to go on.
What have you tried to fix it already? What is the current status of the phone? Ie, does it boot, or can you only access recovery or download mode? 'failed on Odin' could mean anything.

Don't have to call me 'sir', I'm just an ordinary bloke like you LP7 is not specific to any country. So it will work with philippines too. To find the firmware you should flash, search on Samfirmware.com for the correct phone model, country, and carrier you're on. Then, flash it in Odin. If it fails again, click the link in my signature and then follow those for troubleshooting steps. There's no "magic fix", it'll take some effort on your part.

Tnx a lot sir. My phone is upgraded... tnx a lot sir hopper

Not receiving any updates

Hello everyone, I'm new in these parts.
I live in Morocco and I purchased a SGS3 about two months ago. I love it !
The only thing is, I'm not receiving any updates since I had it. When I look for updates from the phone it says that no updates are available.
When I try to use Kies to update it tells me I'm running the latest firmware, although my phone only got the I9300XXALF2 !
Am I doing something wrong ? Or is it a country problem ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Why should you have an update has your phone provider updated the firmware ???
If not you are on the latest ask your phone provider .
Or join XDA Developers and flash latest stock firmware .

I'm worried I never get an eventual Jellybean update because of this !

Go to www.sammobile.com download a stock firmware, flash through Odin, reroot.
*or*
Find the right siyah kernel tar and flash through odin

I can't find 2.3.3 on sammobile only 2.3.6... does this matter? Or is there somewhere else I can find it?
Title adjusted
As was pointed out, it's always best to give a more descriptive title than 'Please Help'. I see you've got a few people helping you, good luck with it - it's usually a step you missed (I've done the same). Always read up and understand what you're doing before you do it, saves brain cells

u have very less or even outdated rooting option on GB, better to upgrade ur phone to stock ICS v4.0.3 (dwnld the stock ICS v4.0.3 firmware pertained to ur region on www.sammobile.com and flash the same using 'ODIN'.
After successfull flash and booting of ICS on ur phone, u can use Siyah kernel( .tar file for ODIN) to root ur phone by flashing the same vide ODIN
U might have corrupted ur install. If there is no VERY important data, i would recommend you to wipe data/cache and download a new STOCK rom and install using odin hope this helps. P.S. Only use odin and stock rom it has less chances of bricking the phone.

[Q] Samsung galaxy S3 shows modified in about device

hi, salam to everyone . I got my s3 about 3 months ago. everything is fine until today. I got jelly bean about a month ago and install an official one from Samsung kies. today I just want to check any software update for this purpose I go to settings then about device then software update. . but can't check as it shows "your device have been modified so no updates " . . I again go to about device section and click on Status and scroll down to device Status and it shows modified.
I don't know how all just happens.
I have bought an international version of S3 pin pack, break seal with my own hands. .
didn't ever installed any thing other than some basic apps from google play.
before getting jelly bean I can check updates from my s3 but now I can't. . plz help.
