You should be able to activate the developer options by going to system settings->about tablet-> then scroll down to build number and tap on the build number section 7 times or until it says congratulations you are now a developer. After it says that the developer options section should now be visible in the system settings app where they normally are. Let me know if you still have questions.

Try this one, it helped me a while ago:
http://www.androidnz.net/2011/11/how-to-enable-push-notifications-in.html
Regarding step 7 there is this update in the comments:
account settings>then to notifications (NOT APPS)>then scroll down at the bottom of the list there should be a link that says 'Other Applications' click that and a list of more apps should open... theres a tick box next to them
I've done this and still not working :-(

I'm not sure as well because it's been very long I used stock ROM.
Although I don't use blacklist function, but it's like I've seen it there before.

I'm still using CRv6 GB 2.3.6.
Under Settings/Call/Call Rejection is 2 options.
The first option is how to reject (I use Blacklist only).
The second one is Blacklists. Under this is the option, to block all unknown numbers. For me, that also includes (and blocks) all blocked or private caller id numbers.
I hope this helps you.

Call control works very good...

Black listing numbers on the operator side of things, if you block them through apps/CM9, first they won't truly be blocked (IE they will still be able to call you but your phone just won't allow the call to go through on its end) and second you will have to do it all over again when you change ROM etc. If you call up your provider and ask them to blacklist a number its a much better way.

[YP-G70 INTL] Disable the lights on capacitive buttons?

Galaxy Player 5.0 INTL running on CM9, Paranoid Android
Well as the topic said, anyone knows if there's a way to at least disable the lights on the buttons? There are some apps that could disable the lights but it requires you to start up the app at every reboot and it'll be a chore since I tend to reboot the player a few times a day due to freezing etc. There are some threads I saw in xda about it but not sure if it's okay to cross-flash .zip files intended for a different models without bricking the device.

[Q] Rename network id

Where is the setting to rename the device ID on a network? I don't like that it comes up as a long name under router and tether info page.
I used to do it on my Inc but can't find it now.
On rooted stock.

"Rename Phone" under Bluetooth settings changes the host name if I'm not mistaken

Nope, that only changes the blutooth friendly name. I'm looking for network name change. It shows up as something like android-16945agr956
Would rather say Note II, or the like...

try Settings -> development -> device name.
That's where I thought I remember that setting being, but I don't see it on my device. Is it usually only under custom roms?

I've only seen device ID change in AOSP/AOKP Roms, in dev section though on those roms...

Add the following to system/build.prop and reboot the phone:
net.hostname=YOURNEWHOSTNAME
Your router should pick it up. I just tested this and it worked on my WRT400N router.
That's is! Thanks.
Sorry if I was calling it the wrong thing before and confusing people, it was host name I was looking to change. Added that line in the build prop file and rebooted phone and router and it now has a friendly name!
Sent from this Note 2 using xda app-developers app
To edit build.prop file, had to download and use "Build Prop Editor" from Google Play (would post link but being a n00b I can't ) as other editing methods would not allow me to save my changes.
Props to alistairs1 for the workaround. :good:
Cheers

[Q] tablet UI for mega 6.3 i527 at&t or softkeys such as lg g2

I am not unfamiliar with the xda and searching for answers but I have yet to find anything on what I would like to do. I have tried an array of apps and tweaks from "softkey enabler" to "wanam settings". where as I have had success in customizing a great deal of this awesome Mega. yet everytime I enable the soft keys or set to a different UI I get the "unfortanately systemui has stopped working. I understand the not being able to have a custom rom or recovery at this time. all I am asking if any one has a clue to what can be done or attempted just so I can enable softkeys or get the tablet UI working. thanks

True DAT!!! I knew there was a way through Xposed and some system settings download. I remember there were 3 items to change the settings on that had to do with changing dpi to 220, but I am smart not too much sometimes and cant remember. Sorry, but maybe if you could come up with certain phrasing and run a search. There was a how to in the Note forums.

I actually did use "phab7" but all I had to do was during the force closing navigate back through and disable. i have done that plenty of times with other attempts. but yet to no avail.

I have reworded as much as I can (or as far as my intelligence will allow me) and have yet to uncover which settings need to be configured. I do understand that it maybe as simple as a quick tweak but I am a bit discouraged when venturing to deep. I am in no way a dev and would like to consider myself very slightly above a noob. I will continue my search. thanks for the replies and if i do stumble upon my answer. could I post my success here or just post where I found it.
As far as soft key go, why just not use PIE?

I have used "pie" before on my original note. and although i did like the concept "swiping" to bring it out is not particularly what I want on this Mega. I had used a custom rom that allowed me to switch my note from phone /tablet /phablet. and truely enjoyed the look of the "tablet" UI. so what i am looking for is to make my Mega look like my Note 10.1 as far as the softkeys and navigation bar are concerned. but until some brilliant dev figures out the work around for this "i527" and can allow us to flash such a rom. I must continue my search for what ever comes close.
