I'm using Go Contacts as my default call app. Although whenever I get a missed call the notification doesn't disapear from the bar.
I need to open the main Contacts Samsung app for it to disappear or clear the bar.
I don't seem to find any configurations to change this.

bump... still no workaround for this?
I use Go SMS not Go Contacts so can't say i have this problem.
Best thing is to send an email directly to the developer regarding this, actually if you do a search there is a massive thread relating to GO and their various apps on XDA although you'd probably be better off just emailing the dev.

I have the same problem on Desire, redux2
Any suggestion?
Same here on HTC Desire S. It is really annoying.
Maybe this is the problem:
Since Android 2.3, Google prohibited third party application (i.e. non-system app) to make use of MODIFY_PHONE_STATE permission. One of the consequences is that all 3rd party phone dialer application can no longer clear missed call icon at notification bar. (Even at Android 2.2 or older, we need undocumented API to do so)

Same here with my unrooted HTC Desire HD (Ace). Unfortunately the workaround with NotiGo does only work on rooted phones.
This is a shame for Android...

Still not able to find a perfect dialler
Curious to see which one other SGS2 users use...
Get GO Contact. It comes with a dialer and both apps are really good. One thing I'm VERY happy to finally have is a dialer that searches within names whilst I dial a number, not just the beginning of the name.
Alternatively, get an AOSP ROM so you're using the stock Android dialer. It's simple, but still better than the Samsung one.
I use and recommend rocketdial. It had a good t9 engine for smart dials.
Regards.

I recommend go contacts too, there is a new version out btw called go dialer ex
What's wrong with stock one? Love the unique slide to call feature..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
For me the smart dial feature on the stock dialer was not satisfying (only one predefined number per contact to call). On GO Contact its way better solved than on stock
Stock dialer is a joke. Try to dial by typing numbers to get last name.
I miss Htc sense.

I just love the stock dialer sliding. That's the main reason I switched back to a Touchwiz based ROM from a CM7 Nightly.
Also I love the stock Calendar, Clock, Task Manger on long HomeKey press.
Hmmm..will never like the stock dialler if one has tired sense dialler I guess....
The only thing I still misses from sense...
Thanks for your valuable suggestions, but go dialler is driving me nuts..it never searches on my linked contacts properly...say I have linked my bros FB profile with google contacts...go dialler always searches with the facebook name...in google contacts the name is "bro" and I have set the defaults in contacts also..but go dialler does not give results if I type bro...
Hope I am clear here..stock dialler and dialler one searches properly..so far dialer one is the best for me...but appearance sucks and just feels out of place when ever I open it.
Any trick to solve my problem with go dialler? Pls advice

Guys I've also migrated from sense to the SGSII and I highly recommend trying out Dialer One (it's free) - check out the options when setting it up. It can also T9 search by name, number (and other info) and also in the call log...
Touchpal is by far the best dialers i have used.
Youlu is also nice one.

in your app drawer there should be a google app icon, tap it...google now opens..but forst you have to click through the introduction screens and then activating it by clicking OK, I'm in! There you have then the settings fpr the different cards you wish to receive...mind you..as long as u r at your home...normally only the weather card will show..once you set your work address and home address it will show you related cards once you are on the go!
Functions very well in Germany..and more cards coming soon

Hi, still the same thing, I don't see any other option apart from the three options I mentioned.
I go to Setting-->Application and only see Google Search, but cannot see Google Now.
Other thread are suggesting is because of my google account, let me create a new one and log in with it.
Which language are you using for your system language? It is possible that your language is not supported for now. Try to set it to English(us) and see what happens.
To activate Google now just hold home, then close your keyboard. on the bottom right is the settings button. press it, open settings, then Google now. Now press I'm in. And it should work.

Hi, I am using English and did exactly what you told.
When it first launch, it shows the Google Now banner briefly, then immediately bring me to the the search bar with a mic icon.
I tried log out from my Google account, it is still the same.

Google Now or Google Search will only work as Now when the en-US talkback/offline voice is installed. Google Now needs to be opted in and is not a sepearte product that you are missing. Just make sure you have latest Google Search and en-US as talkback language.
Also, update your sig with you device/carrier/location info so people dont waste many posts just to gather that info.
download set local app (free) choose English (US) start google search and the rest is all gravy.

BTW what is the OS version?
just press and hold the home key at the bottom of the phone
Google Now (FIXED)
Hi everyone,
I had this problem too and there was only one way I could fix it.
Install Google Search v2.6 and update it later if you want.
Cheers.
I have the same issue for some reason.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Guys guys guys, calm down! I had the issue, as remarked by a previous reply its about your System language.
I set the system language to "Egypt(English)" which I thought was normal, but in google now I only found "Voice" search like everyone else. Set your system language to "United Kingdom(English)" .
Not the keyboard.. The system language. Due to being on CM atm I can't remember the location of that setting, but I am going back to sense, I will edit the reply later.
I just got to the root of my problem. It turns out Google Now is blocked by my network provider as I'm in Vietnam. I removed the SIM and then enter settings in Google Search. The the option to turn on Google Now appears, once turned on I reinserted the SIM and Google Now still works. Hope this helps.

ok so google now has updated to allow voice search over bluetooth headset which DOES work...or for me anyways,. HOWEVER
we still have the same ol' problem of being not able to "push bluetooth headset button" to open google now .
or shall i say i cant find a way, has anyone else had success with this?
so far ive tried disabling s-voice in apps menu, and now it goes to google voice dial,
i cannot disable voice dial.,
ive also tried using the "bluetooth launch" app from market to no response,
any help would be majorly appreciated
update:
ive now gotten google now to come up from bluetooth button push, however seems googlenow just freezes once opened, still works fine from widget microphone press just not from BT,
this post from another site helped

I'm not sure if this is true for other phones listed above, but for The Galaxy Note II, I had to make sure S-Voice was disabled (it says Voice Dialer on the first post).
Also, if you have downloaded bluetooth launcher you probably already tried:
"Google Search" and then selected "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity"
and was still launching S-Voice. Once you disable S Voice (note the space) go into Settings > Application manager and scroll to the right to ALL. Then find S Voice and disable it.
Once you disable it and hit the button on the paired bluetooth device, you will get a "Complete Action Using" dialog. Resist the temptation to choose Google search. I know it's the logical choice, however you will not get Google Now; you will get a Google voice dialer instead. So make sure you choose "Bluetooth Launch" and select ALWAYS. Now when you hit the bluetooth button, you should get Google Now.
soooo, no progress
still stuck at getting the microphone to actualy work when google now is accessed.
i see a thanks from member "exitcode1" did you have any better luck ?

My mistake... activating Now from bluetooth worked so well I just assumed the whole process would work, but the phone mic was actually hearing me from inside my bag, not the BT mic.

Is that even with the google now setting enabled to listen to google now voice searches via bluetooth when bluetooth device is connected???
I had to select the box to enable blutooth mic in Google now, then it worked. I still have to hit my bt button a few times the first time I use it.

Did you ever figure out how to fix this issue? I want Google Now to pop up when I press my bluetooth button on my headset. I'm currently running 4.1 on my DNA (About to me 4.2.2 in about 20 minutes)

Got mine working with HTC One, maximushd 30, kk 4.4 and a 2014 bmw.

Also I made sure bluetooth headset was checked on in google now-settings-voice.

Hey all.
So the tweaking to get my HTC ONE just right continues...
The latest annoyance is the delivery of visual voicemail. I have the AT&T Visual Voicemail App but it is inconsistent (in terms of updating) and a pain to switch over to it for my voicemail messages. I came over from the iPhone bandwagon and got really spoiled with some of the amenities on that side of the fence - VV integrated into the Dialer is one of them.
Anyone come across a Mod to get the Dialer and a VV integration? The dialer itself is kind of a pain, so I wouldn't mind replacing the whole dialer interface if that's an option.
I am Rooted and Running Android Revolution HD for HTC One.
Thanks in advance.
Its programmed differently so probably not possible with stock launcher. I havent had any problems with the notifications though and have a shortcut for it on my homescreen so really not that big of a deal once ya get used to it.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
don't know if it's going to be possible with stock Sense and the AT&T VVM, however on CM10.1 you can get Google Voice integration into the dialer call log.
i came to the HTC ONE from the iPhone 5 and i also miss the ease of visual voicemail baked in there.

yeah i had some trouble setting up "google voice LITE". it said it couldn't "retrieve forwarding settings" or something. tried multiple times with no luck. finally went to "voicemail number" in call settings and changed it manually to the number google provided.
i THINK it's working okay now. i called it from a friend's phone and did get my GVoicemail box.

This is what I did too, but the problem is Google Voice is not popping notifications when a voicemail is received. My old phone (SGS2) used to do this, I still haven't found a solution.
I just recently tried out att messages. It's not horrible and you can turn off it notifying you of txt messages and still use the stock sms app.

I also came from the iPhone 5 and miss that functionality. You can use YouMail for a pretty darn good substitute.
