Hey guys, trying to figure out if the problem is with my phone speaker that got corrupted and needs to be replaced
or something with my settings.
Currently running ArchiDroid v2.1.1 (based on cm 10.2 / android 4.3) + boeffla sound + dsp manager.
the sound quality is very bad, in speaker, in earphones, and in aux cable (connected to the car sound system).
most of it in speaker though.
here are pics of my settings. (attached).
in settings -> sound settings -> musical effects, dsp manager is enabled.
Maybe someone can tell me if anything is not right with my settings, or my speaker broke.
Thanks
Best way to diagnose hardware problems is to return to official stock and see if it's still the same.
Make a nandroid first and you can then go easily back to where you were.
I also had a problem / DSP manager and audio /
Installing this mod helped me

Try a different DSP Manager
thanks all,
already tried acid sound mod.
trying on stock rom is my last resort (too much of a headache for me lol)
anyway i've just ordered a new speaker (not expensive)
i'll replace it and check again.

I've used DSP Manager and like it very much but after some time a problem arises. When any sound is produced by the phone through the speaker/headphones, there is always a high pitched sound. In DSP Manager, I've only enabled the equalizer for 'Headset'. The problem goes away after I reboot the phone then after some time it comes back again and only a reboot will solve it. I'm on Elelinux's rom. Is this a rom issue or just an application issue? Is there a fix? Please help me.. I really like the bass DSP Manager gives.
Got the same problem. Gave up on dsp and use mixzing with its in built eq for now

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post in the Ace Sectio, Deal with it
I just rooted my phone, installed MIRACLE v4, installed Beats Audio...
and i have a problem...
If i watch a Commentary video (dont mind that with beats audio or without it) The Voice Commentary is Really Quiet, but the music is VERY LOUD! and i can't do anything with this, i think its the fault of the 30 Volume Steps, not of the video, cause on my PC and with other ROM its fine, and commentary isn't quiet... Oh and i installed DSP Manager too, but everything is the same
I'll link a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKJMljrIGuc&list=UUH-_hzb2ILSCo9ftVSnrCIQ&index=2&feature=plcp
Please Help me
Any Suggestions?
Don't change any setting on DSP..using Youtube app or some other streaming app?
And if you've a spare headphone, then try using that to check whether it's the headphone problem.
Using original YoutubeApp Downloaded from Play Store, Xperia x8 Headphones, so its not the problem of the headphones (Its working Quite Perfect on Other ROMS and even on other phones ) Did not set anything in Dsp manager, but i tried to set something, but it wasn't better...

At least check with another headphone will not hurt
if the problem persists undo the beats lib. or re-flash the ROM (no need to wipe if you're re-flashing on the same ROM,you won't get boot-loops) Can I know which beats did you flash? Several out here these days..
I tried 4 Types of B.Audio
And i just realized... The headphones aren't good to this phone, i have to buy a new one
Thanks for the help
And i just installed B.Audio, cause on maximum volume, it wont do weird sounds
maybe the beats audio mod is not compatible with DSP manager, like the case of SRS Trumedia mod?
hi got a galaxy s3 and installed Omega v5.1 and the sound has gone lower. i connect my s3 to a stereo thro phone jack and its gone lower then it was on the stock rom. someone look at the problem please thank you i like the rom and i dont wanna change it thank oh and i reinstalled beats audio as well but no differents
I am running the same rom. I don't have the same problem. The sound is the same as it was on stock. Try removing the beats audio.
If you have installed Beats Audio from experience it drops your sound level by 30% .
However as i read the changelogs no Beats in Omega so it could be the added DSP Manager doing the same .
Tested that rom sound level is normal .

I've Searched much about it before thinking open a thread, but I got nothing wich could help me.
Is there a way to boost music volume when using BT Headphones ? I'm on android 4.3 ProBam v4.4.2. tried few kernel ( like boeffla to adjust the sound volume but it doesn't seems to affect BT Sound)
Tried also alot of others version and roms 4.2.2 and 4.1.2 still no good.
the mod wich actually boost a little the volume was Viper4Android. but I got just a "little up" from the level I was.
My question is... is there anything I could do to boost the volume up using BT Headphones ?

There is little you can do about bluetooth volume. Unlike Speaker, Wired headphones etc, these are not limited to the kernel. It is limited by the bluetooth module and it is controlled independently. Whetever you have now, is what you're stuck with pretty much.
in DSP manager on AOSP roms, it's possible with a few tweaks to the EQ, you may be able to simulate a louder volume. People advised me to try things with modified DSP managers. Such as MegaBeats. It increased bass, but didnt give more volume.
Yeah, i was kinda exprectin that.
but yet, thank you guys for your help
I have a RoadNavi S160 (Android) installed as a head unit in my car, stock speakers + undearseat subwoofer ( Connected to the rear speakers ). I have flashed the unit with rooted Kotix ROM which has a preinstalled V4A.
I've managed to get it to work with PowerAmp, but thats where it ends...
1. Which settings shoulld i be working with? (headset? speaker? bluetooth? USB? - or all of them? )
I have tried to play around with them, but i am totally lost! - only the speaker tab makes a difference to the sound.
2. The IRS files don't seem to make any difference to the sound ( I can change them, and driver status shows as processing )
3. With the equlizer only(no IRS) the speakers sound either too flat or too distorted
I am not after a highest quality audio, but would like to hear a nice punchy bass and decent vocals ( without cracking speakers! )
Thank you all
Can you use PowerAMP (the app itself?)
If yes! Well Poweramp uses something called "DirectMusicControl" so it will only use PowerAmp no matter what you set in Viper4Android!
Go to settings --> Audio --> Enhanced Settings (in my case the last point on Audio) --> First Entry is the "DirectVolumeControl"
Klick the box so it's unticked and play some music with poweramp while you open up Viper and set everything to your liking!
WARNING: Maybe you should reset ViperSettings to default if possible not that you blow away speakers
Thanks for the reply!
I have already managed to get those two to work together and since posting my initial question I've figured out the way to use the IRS's ( turns out I copied a folder full of files into the kernel, instead of extracting just the files into the existing kernel folder ).
But I must say that I am struggling to get it working as well as it probably can.
The settings within the "headset" tab seem to have no effect whatsoever, and only the settings from the "speaker" tab seem to make a difference.
Having said that, no matter what IRS I use, it just sounds wrong ( too quite, too loud, not enough bass or too much bass )
Thinking about it - is there a way to default v4a to set parameters within the headset tab instead of the speaker?
This would enable me to have a greater controll ( and possibly sort my issues ) over bass, clarity etc.?
Thanks

go to headseat tab, in setting (3dot at upper left at v4a 2.4.0) choose lock effect mode headset
