[Q] No Wifi on BadSeed Tranquil DNA? - HTC Droid DNA

I very thoroughly apologize if this has been asked and discussed before, but apparently my search skills aren't the best. Anywho, her's the issue.
I've used a number of different ROM's since I first got my DNA back in January. I've used older Tranquil releases. But anything after 2.1 I believe it was, I haven't had WiFi. I have it just fine with all other ROM's. But no matter what I do for Tranquil (even up to and including RLS 4.2), there's no WiFi connection. It says it's trying to find sources or something and eventually errors out. I have no idea what the problem is. If I go back to 2.1 or 2.0, WiFi works great. This kind of sucks as I really enjoyed the earlier Tranquil releases and would like to continue using them. I'm currently using NOS m7's latest release for 4.1.2 (couldn't get their 4.2.2 release to work for some reason, just sat at the HTC screen for over 30 minutes, even after wiping the entire phone and attempting to sideload).
Anyway, if someone can tell me how to get WiFi to work on Tranquil releases after 2.1, that would be awesome. And again, I apologize if this has been covered before. I tried posting in the official thread but my lack of post count keeps me from doing so.

You need to update your firmware to 2.06

Can I ask where it's failing? I'm running the 4.2 ROM, and WiFi seems to work fine.
Be happy to look at my settings for you if you need, but IIRC, it came up correctly the first time -- during initial setup.

Attempting to get the 2.06 update and then reunlock at the moment, but it's not recognizing the phone in Fastboot. Recognizes fine when it's on, but not Fastboot.

It does it right from the beginning. Any other ROM and my WiFi network shows immediately. Any release past 2.1 and no WiFi at all.

I've used this same cord to ADB push and sideload while in Recovery before. Plus it reads just fine when the phone is on as normal. Wouldn't that make it fine? (Note: Not being sarcastic or anything, genuine question. I know how things can be misinterpreted over the 'net so I kinda like to point out how I mean things.)
Edit: I got it to work so far. I'm reflashing back to complete stock now. Apparently a driver wasn't installed for it to be detected in Fastboot. I'll post back after I get back to stock, completely update to newest, and reflash Tranquil RLS4.2.

So I got everything installed, running again, latest updates, reunlocked, TWRP back on, flashed RLS 4.2... No WiFi still... What am I doing wrong here?
Edit: NOS M7 3.0.4 is doing the same thing it was before, also. It's not even getting passed the HTC screen, no matter how long I let it sit. This is quite frustrating. I put M7 2.0.3 back on and everything works as it should. Anyone have an possible solutions?

Do you upgrade your firmware?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4 Beta

It was upgraded to 2.06 when everything was completely stock..

are you s-off or s-on sounds like youi aren't getting the kernel. If you are s-on you have to extract it and push it seperately, or find one marked to be flashed seperately s-on. I didn't see where anyone posted this. Sorry if I missed it. Busy here at work but saw your thread.

Other than being rooted with the custom ROM, it's whatever the normal S is (can't remember off the top of my head). I rooted and tried the Moonshine thing but it never took (on stock 2.06) so I just went through and reunlocked with my original packet from the HTCDEV website and went about things that way.

Ok, it's an easy fix. When you flash from recovery you are getting the rom, but not the kernel information. I assume you've probably been having bad battery life also. The only way to falsh a kernal s-on is with adb push, or with a hboot flashable where it goes all the way back to the white screen. if you download the all in one kit I think you can use that to push a kernel easily. I can never remember the adb commands. I think they suggest beaups kernel for that rom. Go ahead and download the two, and pm me if you need any more instruction.

You're right. My battery life has been absolutely terrible. I can get maybe 6-8 hours until I'm at 30% or under, and that's not doing anything. Much less if I actually want to do anything with the phone. I'll give those two links a look. Thanks. :good:
Edit: So, I've noticed it's now S-On and the kernel isn't showing on the device. I copied the .zip over to the main directory where I always do, and it's not showing on the phone. But it shows just fine in Windows.
Edit again: Got it to flash using Sideload. Before I do anything else, is it okay to now flash RLS4.2 and see if WiFi works? Now that that's on there, it should be good, right? Or do I need to flash RLS4.2 and then reflash this kernal?
Yet another Edit: It took me a while, but I noticed a LOT of things were missing on the phone after flashing the 2.06 kernel. The one that made me notice was FaceBook. And Google Play Store wasn't there anymore, either. I've reflashed to Digital Dream 2.2 and everything is back to normal. This is really frustrating.

Pm me when you're working on this again I think there are a couple things that are confusing.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4

I finally got it to connect.
I was running DigitalDream 2.2 while trying to figure this all out. I ended up getting S-Off and reflashing. For me to S-Off while already on DigitalDream 2.2, I used the first part of the Mooshine Method (downloading their 2.06firmware zip file, flashing that, rebooting) then used the FacePalm method. That successfully got me S-Off. I noticed that even on DG2.2 after that, I had no WiFi. So I decided to try flashing Tranquil 4.2 and now I have WiFi working. Hope this helps anyone that has the same issue I did.

[Q] Rezound Rebooting w/ notifications on Nils Rom

I just flashed [ROM] (5/25) Nils' Business ICS 4.0.3 Sense 3.6 last night for my S-OFF ReZound. Everything went beautifully and the ROM looks great. The problem I think I have is whenever an app throws up a notification my phone reboots. I first noticed it whenever I sync'd my Google account and it threw up a notification about new gmail messages. So I stopped syncing Gmail. Then it happened whenever I tried to open Twitter/Facebook or when I adjusted the ringtone volume or my alarm went off.
Does anyone have an idea why these things would cause the phone to reboot? Are there any commonalities between these functions?
Weird. Not sure about that. The only rebooting I get on the ROM is when I use my Lock Screen App instead of using the power button. From what I understand though, that is a problem with ALL the ICS versions for Rezound. I can't wait until that is fixed...I hate trying to press that little power button through the small hole in the case I use.
Did you do a full wipe and then flash? Sounds like something residual from a previous ROM. If you did wipe and flash, did you restore anything in Titanium? It clearly states in the OP for that ROM not to do that.
yea i did a full wipe and flash twice. i havent installed or used Titanium to this point.
it first started happening when i attempted to sync my google account, which was about the 3rd thing i did after installing the ROM.
Someone for mad at me for telling them search the old firmware patch
Is suggest you do the same
If you can't find your sdcard or if your phone reboots when it makes a sound.... You need to flash the old firmware patch

if you're referring to the GB firmware patch, then I did do that during the ROM install process per the instructions. i can try doing that again though.
You are on gingerbread firmware correct?
I have read about the patch not working the first time so that could be the issue

i did come from GB firmware, but flashed the RUU 3.14.605.5 and then flashed the GB firmware patch. after doing this and booting into the RUU, i then flashed Nil's ROM.

if you flashed the 3.14RUU, you shouldn't need the GB firmware patch since you are now on ICS.
I would reinstall the ROM and skip the patch.
oh ok! i will do that now.
*update 2*
rats, 5 minutes later, as i'm refreshing my twitter app, it reboots. going to see if it continues to replicate. so far it has. uninstalling and reinstalling it. /// still rebooting when i refresh twitter. weird.

When you went from gb and ran the ics ruu, did you run the ruu twice.? It only updates a few things the first time through. The second time it does all items on the list.
Sent from my Rezound
oh my, just read through Nil's instructions again and you're right, it does say to run it twice...
i only did the RUU once.
ok, so from here, I need to reflash the RUU one more time? and then reload Nil's ROM?
hmm, also noticed on step #10 i need to unlock the bootloader again? is this true even if i'm s-off?
I went from completely stock to S-OFF and running Nils' latest Business Sense 2 days ago. I have not had any of the problems you mentioned.
His instructions do no say to install the RUU twice. They say that it's a 2 pass affair to install it. If you went through the whole process to install it once, you don't need to do it again.
However, I agree with an earlier post. Installing a GB firmware patch after installing an ICS RUU is probably your problem. Re-doing the whole thing from Nils' instructions for "Latest Leak and Installation Instructions", and then just installing his v4.1 ROM is probably all you need to do to get straightened out.
You absolutely need to flash the RUU twice. The 2nd time it will appear to be stuck on one of the times and flash it like 10 times but that is normal.

It says that in Step #10, I believe. And yes, you have to do that in order to install (or re-install, as the case may be) AR Recovery (Step #11).

I started on Monday with a bone stock Rezound. I unlocked, rooted, and did the wire trick for S-OFF.
Then I flashed the 3.14 RUU once, unlocked again, installed AR Recovery again, and then flashed Nils' v4.1 ROM (for S-OFF).
My phone seems to be working fine. Exchange mail (I don't use Gmail), contacts, calendar and tasks. Visual Voice Mail. Notifications. Text messaging. Facebook. WiFi Tether. Google Maps. Camera. Bluetooth handsfree. Everything seems to work fine. The only thing I haven't tested yet, that I mean to, is to force it to 3G only for data and test that I can talk and surf the Web at the same time.
Since I did not flash the RUU twice, what should I be looking for to not work right?
Do not HTC unlock after s-off.
Edit: saw you did.... Basically you will have unlocked or re locked. If you wanted the bootloader to appear stock you have to s-on and do the s-off process again. Then it would say locked. Not a big deal.... Unless you are paranoid and have to do a warranty swap.

i'll do some more reading before i proceed.
Just tested the SVDO.
Went into Phone Info and set my phone to CDMA Auto (PRL).
Turned off WiFi.
Confirmed status bar displayed 3G.
Called up my bank and let the automated menu thing talk over speakerphone.
Ran Speedtest on phone and it worked.
Went into Phone browser, did a Google search and got results.
Turned on WiFi Tether on my phone.
Connected my TouchPad (running ICS) to phone hotspot.
Ran Speedtest on TP. Got 1934kbps down and 1945kbps up.
I'd say simultaneous voice and 3G data work just fine with Nils' ROM, too...
so i redid everything tonight the proper way and its up and running perfectly! loving it

And that releives me. Have fun

Flash Img Gui -just an fyi really, you might know this by now.

OK so ive figured some things out, you probably know them, thats not what i made this thread for.
xhausx s-on kernel installer will not install a kernel if going from JB to Sense.
And for some reason, if coming from PA 2.99, with the latest 2.1 komodo rls 21, HTC dumlock will not let you get back to sense either...
Trying to go back to mean rom at the moment and it has taken me a couple hours lol, its rediculous, thought i could do it without fastboot, or flash image gui, and i was wrong. So i started looking around, found out it was a buck, then i found this forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772769
Thought it might be a tad helpful, it contains the apk for flash image gui at the right version for our phone.
Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
Woot.
got back mean rom aparantly a big issue was with the v6.5 release of meanrom. put 6.4 on there and it worked just fine.
Still tho, a free Flash Image GUI a big plus. So check it out.
Though joeykrim offers his app free thru the forum, it is a good gesture to purchase it for a $1 to show support for such a great tool. It saves a lot of headache for many.

I haven't had issues with the kernel installer on meanrom and I switch between sense and aosp quite often. Dumlock should always work because recovery is flashed into the boot partition essentially replacing boot and allowing twrp to flash the kernel directly. I don't see how it would fail.
If anyone can confirm the jb/kernel installer issue or provide a log from it I should be able to fix it. I haven't tested it yet with 4.2 JB but unless they changed something major it should still work the same.
Many devs provide their tools for free on here, but as mentioned by one_love_420 please show your support and get the donate version if it's something you feel is worthy of it. A lot of hard work goes into some of these apps.
Indeed

I was just throwing it out there for those who wanted the link, just saw it was a buck on the app store and was looking around to see if it supported our phone yet (last i had checked the one on the app store didnt) a quick google search told me it did and provided me a free link, so just sharing.
I also wanted to say that,
When coming from the original PA (not lens flares) to Super LTE which had the s-on kernel installer, super lte would get stuck in a boot loop. And then when going from PA (lens flares) with the rls 21 komodo kernel, to mean rom (latest) it wouldnt boot, so i just went with what i knew and stated it couldnt, tho i havnt attempted to reproduce the effect since as i am currently sticking with mean rom. You would not believe the fear i had when i couldnt boot my phone for a while and couldnt find out why, then upon trying to unroot using the latest RUU to simply quick fix the problem, the RUU gave me an error, lol i thought my phone was gone.
But it ended up being a problem with mean rom, i went back to PA and then used the dumlock to install an older version of mean rom and all was well.

Oh and i totally agree with you, i know how the dumlock works and i didnt see what the problem could be at the time, it was just a problem with the latest release of mean rom, flashed and got stuck at the white HTC screen and being s-on that ment i couldnt use the dumlock anymore or anything for that matter. so i was flippin out trying to find the problem before the obvious hit me. I just had assumed with mean rom always being so stable that the newest release wouldnt have bothered my phone. Guess i was wrong though, still have no idea whats wrong with it but that version of mean rom still wont install and work lol. Its all good though, this post might as well serve as a quick shot to a link that you may or may not have known was there.
I'm not sure what I did but I never had any trouble recovery back to sense till now. Every other time I've flashed from job to sense it hasn't been a problem. I have tried Meanrom 6.5, and stock.goodies. with no luck. When I try to flash the boot.IMG, the button is grey out and won't let me flash.
I'm stumped.

Calls not working.

Have a VZW DNA, currently on Hatka 3.0.3. S-Off, latest radio, stock 2.04 kernel. Twrp
Shortly before I flashed the new radios, I had a problem that whenever I tried to connect a call, whether incoming or outgoing, com.android.phone or.. process.acore?? would force close. I can't remember what the exact name of the acore force close was. Anyway.
I was pretty sure I fixed the problem before I flashed the new radios, but either way, I have the problem again. And, I have noticed that after the force close, the SIM seems to reset. Get a toast message for preparing the SIM card.
It makes no difference whether its the stock dialer, or a third party like Go Contacts. Third party apps don't force close, just go back to whatever I was doing before I tried to connect the call.
I tried flashing the viper with both dsb's stock and cubed kernel with viper to no avail. I haven't tried RUU, or old radios simply because I haven't had time to back up.
Any ideas before I do RUU?

I had the same issue today between 2 and 3, but it wasn't letting me send texts even though I could receive them. Maybe a network hiccup?

Basically I hd the same situation happen to myself, no calls or data but wifi was good. Mine started to fail slowly , firs \t it was showing a 1X connection but dl were about 3G speeds. Next I lost signals in areas I never had signal issues with. Then total loss. New sim card and spent hours on the support line and a replacement unit.
Got a PM request for assistance, and thought I don't have a lot of tips to offer other than what I provided before, I'm going to post a more detailed overview (as I remember it, it's been awhile...) in case it's helpful for any other who may come across it later. The bottom line for me was that once things broke, it didn't work again until I flashed stock kernel via fastboot +modules in recovery and did a clean install of Hatka 3.03 w/ Sense launcher. That said, because of my flashing compulsion and failure to fully test things once installed, I can't pinpoint the exact step at which things broke.
Initially, I: Bought phone and factory reset, did not take Verizon OTA. Fiddled around, hated Sense, unlocked, flashed recovery, flashed Viper 1.1.0 (?, whatever the base was), booted and setup, fiddled around, hated Sense, wiped data, flashed 3 subsequent Viper updates (1.1.1,2,3 maybe?), booted and setup, fiddled around, hated Sense. Wiped and reinstalled de-Sensed Viper a few times in an attempt to get rid of Sense as much as possible.
Then things get murky. I did s-off, and at some point flashed (recovery) a kernel, Cubed I think. Wifi or something was borked (as I understand is the case with Cubed/Viper), and I flashed stock kernel back via recovery (no modules, I didn't catch that part at the time) and restored my backup for good measure, leaving me on fully functional Viper 1.1.3. Everything worked for a few days, but I continued to hate Sense, and began searching for something more sensible. At some point I flashed Hatka 3.03 w/ de-Sensed options, went to 320 DPI, and thought everything was fine for about 18 hours until I realized my phone was warm, and figured out it was rebooting every time I received (or placed) an incoming call (boss was pissed and kept trying to call me, already gives me a hard time about being an Android fanboy so I'm never going to hear the end of that). After a few hours of fiddling and various recovery attempts including restores and full wipe/clean installs of Viper, I finally managed to get things up and running with A. flashing stock kernel via fastboot + modules in recovery and a full wipe/clean install of Hatka 3.03 w/ Sense + Xperia launchers and eventually a 380 DPI.
One of or some combination of the s-off/custom kernel/failure to reinstall stock kernel modules/de-Sensed/low DPI/pin lock/Widget Locker/Viper combo I had going fouled something up, which I know is not entirely helpful. If I found myself in this situation again, I would flash stock boot.img via fastboot + modules in recovery, and probably flash a stock ROM to rule out anything else, then wipe and flash things from there until I got where I wanted or it broke.
For the record, I'm now back on my Galaxy Nexus until stable-ish CM 10.1 is within sight or I get tired of waiting and sell the thing, I just can't tolerate Sense.
same issue
I've been reading wherever I see this topic and haven't found the answer that I'm looking for. Have tried everything said but nothing has fixed my problem can't make or receive calls. This problem happened after I turned s-off have relocked boot loader, flashed RUU, reset factory, re-unlocked bootloader, re-flashed different roms, and flashed radios still not working. No doubt it is a software issue. Does anyone know how to format internal storage on this phone. My thinking is if that can be done problem should go away and then can re-flash to stock. Any help would be most appreciated.

Have you tried fixing permissions? In some other post I read phone process force closing was just a matter of wrong permissions.
In other hand I think if you format system, data and cache the phone storage would just keep hboot and recovery; at that point you could only run RUU to stock or adb sideload from recovery if your CWM version has the feature.

still problem
Yes have fixed permissions. Also have formatted everything I could in CWM still have problem. Is there a way to format with ADB commands?

Constant issues with rooted S4.

Hi all,
Long time lurker of XDA and Android user/modder since before Gingerbread. I want to apologize in advance if this post is either in the wrong section, and/or if something similar has already been answered/solved in another thread. I did multiple searches with nothing coming up as a direct hit, or even close for that matter.
I recently purchased an S4 from VZW (Mid-Late July). I rooted and installed TWRP 5.2.0.2 (Forgive me if that's not the exact version...) and flashed AOSP ROMs here and there. After a month or so, I started coming across an issue within all ROMs where I couldn't receive or make calls without my phone either freezing or rebooting. Anything I flashed, or modded, failed to remedy this. I tried different GApps packages, 4.2.2 and 4.3 ROMs, different kernels, and both radios, and absolutely NOTHING solved this. I searched everywhere (Even rootzwiki, forgive me fellow XDA members!), and could not find anyone with the same issue.
I attempted upgrading to TWRP 2.6.0.0 and even tried CWM, and that didn't help either. Eventually, things got so bad that I couldn't boot into ANY ROM, 4.2.2 or 4.3. After nearly 10 hours of trying to unbrick my phone, I finally managed to install Beanstalk 4.3, and while it was working incredibly buggy (Not Beanstalk's fault, the developer is a great developer!) nor could I make calls, I could still send texts and emails. I was able to FINALLY get the Odin3 application to work when I got home from work, and was able to flash the stock MDK image. From there I followed the steps to properly root and install TWRP 2.6.0.0. I installed Slim's Beta 5 4.3 ROM and GApps and everything was working properly! Calling, everything! However, when I made a reboot, it froze. Stuck in the "Samsung Unlocked" screen for over an hour. I pulled the battery, booted into recovery and did a factory reset/cache and dalvik wipe. It still didn't boot. From there I did a full wipe, and data format, installed Beanstalks newest 4.3 ROM and GApps, and everything loaded properly. Then I couldn't make or receive calls without the same issue. I then did the superwipe/format and installed PAC's newest nightly and GApps package, and was able to make calls, but then got stuck when rebooting, even after factory resets and cache/dalvik wipes. After multiple attempts, I gave up and reflashed the stock MDK Samsung image in Odin3 and am leaving it as is until someone here can help me.
I know this post was incredibly wordy, and I apologize for that, but I wanted to give you guys as much information as possible and explain where this all started, as it may lead to why I'm having these problems. I appreciate any and all responses and I will answer any question any of you have to the best of my ability. Please someone save me from the horror that is TouchWiz!

First, make a NANDROID if it is working perfect on the stock ROM. This is my first step after root and recovery so that I can always fall back on something to check if there is a hardware problem, or just some sort of (system) file problem. Plus, it'll save you time if you have to go back.
Not sure that it matters, but is the stock ROM odexed, or deodexed?
The calling thing reminds me of when you use the phone overseas but it has yet to be unlocked. When you root, do you check with Root Checker? Do you have SuperSU installed? How about BusyBox? I know some items require BusyBox in order to work, but SuperSU should be installed.
As far as SuperSU, do you update it before switching back to the original kernel? One thing I noted is to be absolutely sure you do so in order to not lose your root when completing the rooting steps. I imagine this could cause other problems too.
I also suggest not using TWRP 2.6, which many people will tell you is quite buggy. Best to use the previous version.
The only other things I can suggest is ALWAYS doing a full wipe of everything before adding a new ROM. I used to do this to be sure I incurred no problems on my SGS3, because if I didn't there would always be something buggy happening.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, Heatshiver!
I always do a full wipe unless I'm doing a dirty flash for a ROM update. I will try reverting back to TWRP 2.5.0.2 (Whichever version that happens to be, I think it's .0.2) tonight and report my results. Also, just to clarify, I always make sure I have the most updated SuperSU/Superuser (Usually the former) and BusyBox.
I appreciate the suggestion.

sorry for your troubles, but I am always baffled the way people just toss that word "brick" round
Your phone was no anywhere NEAR being a brick...
You simply are playing with fire flashing AOSP ROMs and not knowing how to fix the issues.
AOSP ROMs aren't technically "made" for our phones, the developers do a great job at making it seem like they are, though.
On the SG3 we had an EFS backup that Synergy discovered incase you flash an AOSP and get stuck in roaming which was quite often at first with AOSP, that was easy to fix, but with this phone I would be careful with AOSP ROMs, even myself, with a locked bootloader wouldn't flash anything besides TW, although I am biased as AOSP is my flavor.
I am sorry if this post comes off harsh or any other bad word. It's not meant for that..
Just to kindly ask you to do some research on what a "bricked phone" truly is.
it's a brick.. meaning won't power on, won't get a light when charging, nothing, your phone is just that, a $600 brick. and the only way to bring back to life IIRC is Jtagging the phone.. which requires taking the phone apart and jtagging the motherboard.
I hope you the best my friend.
As much as I love AOSP, I would have to agree with the poster above. I know TW is a pain but there are some pretty good ROMs in that flavor that you shouldn't have any problems with. I've had the no call issue on AOSP, and even though they are nice and free up quite a bit of room it's not worth missing calls over or constantly flashing. Maybe once our bootloader is unlocked things will become different but I'd stick with TW until that happens. I can confirm that TWRP 2.6 is very buggy...you'll have to download the 2.5 version and flash it instead of goomanager they install they latest version everytime I believe.

You also may want to try CWM recovery if everything else fails. I like TWRP but I kept having the exact problem you have. I switched and haven't had a problem since.

Would you mind telling me which version of CWM you're using? I haven't gone back to CWM since I went back to stock two nights ago.
Thank you for the idea!

I also forgot to mention that I haven't been able to connect to 4G radios since before I started having issues with AOSP ROMs. Currently I'm on Eclipse's TW (With AOSP Styling) ROM. Everything appears to be working fine, other than 4G.
I've tried the SIM pull and reset, and nothing. I've tried manually setting it to LTE only, at least when I was able to do so when AOSP ROMs would boot for me, and nothing. I have a Galaxy Nexus that I booted up with this SIM in and I get 4G signal. Any Ideas?
Also, when I was on the stock image (MDK) I didn't have 4G either.
Has anyone else run across this issue? (MODS: Let a me know if I should create another thread, or search more intensively. I haven't seen a thread with this exact same situation. Plenty of 4G issue threads, but none with the same issues I've previously had, and I think it may have something to do with my past modding.)

Thanks! I installed CWM 6.0.3.6 Touch and flashed Eclipse's TW/AOSP ROM and everything works well, but it's still no AOSP ROM.

Hi all,
I'd like to thank everyone for the suggestions.
An update: Currently I'm on Eclipse's TW v2.0 ROM (TW, with AOSP Styling) and everything works properly. My current recovery is CWM 6.0.3.6 Touch, and I'm not experiencing any booting or calling issues. 4G is the only thing I don't have working.
I'm hoping that someone with my same problem can give me another idea so I can get an AOSP ROM working, preferably with 4G. I'm sure some, if not most, understand my dislike of TouchWiz and strong preference towards stock Android/stock Android based ROMs. Slim6596 said that he uses Philz Modded CWM Recovery and has no issues anymore. Could that really be my solution?
Again, thank you all for your help and ideas. I love XDA for this reason.

Hi Slim,

I believe you have to do the extended phone function. Its a code on the dial pad and select cdma. I have read this but don't recall where.

Are you referring to the *#*#4636#*#* dialer code? I didn't even try that because in my settings, everything was set to CDMA, but that's something I can try. I have everything backed up, so I can just wipe, install, and try that. If it doesn't work, I can always revert back.
Thanks for the suggestion!

[Q] Need Help in a bad way

Ok, I was stock rooted to allow for wifi hotspot. Once I started getting the latest OTA from VZW I decided to try to go back to stock to accept the OTA. I went through all the YouTube video's and loaded the LG software but my phone would never sync to the LG suite software. I ended up giving up and just kept pushing the OTA off. It got so bad that I decided last night to install a recovery and then flash an unofficial CWM rom. So this morning it was working fine and then all of the sudden, I lost VZW data. Couldn't get any signal. So I decided to try to flash the Official Cyanogenmod 11. That blew up during the setup and gave me an error that it could not find any cellular service. I wiped the phone and tried to restore the backup I made of my stock rom with the recovery on it. I made the backup the second the recovery was finished. It's giving me an MD5 error?? I've tried this multiple times with the same result. So, I then decide to flash one of the two roms (unofficial & official) back to see if I can get the phone working again. No such luck.... It keeps trying to set up my "cellular service" and just runs. Nothing ever finishes. I'm really worried at this point. I would be perfectly fine to flash a Verizon image and go back to stock. But I can't seem to find out how to do this or where to find the file. Please help me.. I'm getting desperate.
Edit: I tired to flash the Unofficial Rom again and this time it seems to be working. I would still rather just go back to stock though. If anyone can point me to the correct place I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks

Here is a link to flash back to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/guide-flash-to-stock-10b-kdz-method-t2928140
I know you wanted to take the OTA, but why not download one of the stock based 11c ROM's, like Jasmine 3.0? That way you'll still get the latest version(11c) but you won't lose root and recovery. The OTA patches root, so no recovery either. Here's a link for Jasmine 3.0 stock based 11c if you want to try it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/rom-jasminerom-v1-0-t2904641
Also, there has been issues with data on the CM builds. It seems pretty common right now. Check the CM threads for more info on that. I believe there is a command people have been entering(killall rild in terminal emulator) to get data back, but it seems 50/50 that it'll work.

Hey thanks a lot for your reply. I understand what you're saying with going back to stock. My issues with flashing custom Roms is that I have to have my phone work 100%. I've been flashing since the original Droid Incredible. And I've NEVER found a Rom that didn't have minor glitches and issues. Usually those issues affect my daily routine. I'll give Jasmine3.0 a shot and if it works I might just keep it. If not i'll just suffer through VZW's BS! Anyway, really appreciate your input.

Glad to help. I'm with you on the 100% functionality too, so that is why I'm on Jasmine 3.0. Don't get me wrong, I love custom ROMs and all the work the devs do, but until all the kinks are worked out I'd rather be stock.
Also, I'm not trying to advertise anything, but flashing the skydragon kernel into Jasmine has helped the speed/lag and battery life as well. Its worth a try - but it only works on stock/non-AOSP based ROMs. If you try it though, also download the stock 11c kernel that the OP put in the thread just in case you have issues. I don't have the link handy, but the kernel is located in the "original android development" thread. Peace

Which drivers were you using? I had trouble with the Unified Drivers linked in some posts and had to use the Verizon specific drivers. I also had to usually reinstall the drivers each time I tried to use the flash tool to get it to recognize my phone.

To be honest, I'm not sure what drivers I was using. I did a Google search for LG suite and found the closest version I could find. They didn't have the VS985, Only P985. So that might have had something to do with it.

Modem is the radio. Some people reported better signal strength on the 11c modem versus the 10b modem, but I didn't notice too much of a difference myself.
And glad you like the ROM, but all thanks go to hsbadr who came up with it

You know, it's really odd but the last few weeks my phone's signal has dropped. I listen to Sirius through my phone during the day at work. And I've always received 1 to 2 bars of 4g. But the last few weeks, It's dropped to about 2 to 3 bars of 3G. I thought maybe VZW was secretly throttling me. But maybe it's the updated Radio?

It's possible the modem could've been causing problems. Is 11c better or worse for you? And its also possible big red was throttling you too. That seems like something they'd do.
If you use/like xposed framework G3 tweaksbox is a good app to get for customizing your phone a little bit. And greenify and amplify are good xposed apps that help your battery life a whole lot. They are worth checking out in the play store.
