Am I able to root and install a rom? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Im brand new to the android world. Finally left apple and switched to the better side. Been doing some research before rooting and installing a rom on my device. I just want to check and see if this is okay.
I see that if you have MF3 you cant do any of these.
I believe this does mean I have mf3 but i want to double check.
under about device it says my baseband version is I337....MF3
and my build number is ...........MF3.
So is there nothing I can do to my phone just yet?

Um pretty sure you are in the wrong forum

You need to go to the ATT Galaxy S4 forums to be exact.

Hey guys I was wondering which ROMs I can run on this phone. Do the other variants work the same as this one ?

Like they said man, their are tons of thread asking the same thing...
But to answer your question, every international Rom will work on our model, however you will loose wifi calling (it's tmobile specific and unless you flash a stock Rom you won't have in any other Rom).

Don't do it. There is another thread in this forum where some one lost their, hspa data.
It's generally better to wait until ruins stabilize brie you start flashing unless you are masochistic.

Yah you need to do some reading.
That said, Android Revolution and TrickDroid work great for TMo and have all the TMo stuff including wifi calling included. There probably are others, but these two are by far the most popular. I personally run TrickDroid.

Got a random firmware update this morning....

This morning while I was simply just surfing YouTube I got a prompt asking me to start downloading a firmware update. I accepted and let it download but have no idea what it is. It's a 228 mb file. When it finished downloading nothing happened. Went to the AT&T Software Update menu and it says "Continue Update" but when I hit it nothing happens. Anyone have a clue? Could it be the 1.29 update?

What firmware are you on now? Check settings about phone.

That's what I'm saying. I couldnt even get any info on what the update was. But it's a pretty big file. Hopefully it doesn't prevent the HTC Dev Unlock because we are dealing with AT&T.

The prevention of Dev Unlock is totally on HTC. Unless AT&T is pushing a new Hboot, which MIGHT block it, but it is easier for AT&T to contact HTC and tell them to block the AT&T phones from the procedure.
Yeah you're right I was a little paranoid because I didn't want another HTC One X situation. I rooted and rommed my other One but haven't done this one so I guess I can just test it out and see what happens. And btw, do you know what the current hboot is right now?

I read the other day that a similar update hit the international version and it is believed to be a prep update for 4.2.2
I guess they are breaking the update into parts to make it easier?

Never heard about that. Could be true. Checked the hboot and it has not changed. I've seen literally no changes. It's just kind of puzzling. For such a big file how could it not do anything?

I just did a check for update on my AT&T one, and nothing found.
I am stock rooted though so not sure if that is an issue
Just checked in Iowa on both my ones and nada

At&T did something similar when the LGOG finally updated to Jellybean. The update wasn't that big, but they rolled out a "patch" via OT then a week later JellyBean.
I'm curious to see if this is real and what it does!

That's kinda odd. There is no way I'm the only person who got this update.

you're special
Hmmmm...... No update in Southeast Texas either....... Maybe we're all not special!
I just really hope it doesn't prevent any of my rooting or romming capabilities. What I will do is try it out after work tonight at let you know if I can still unlock bootloader and root. But I'm just so confused. The installation took FOREVER. Just to see no change. I really hope it's just a prep for 4.2

Should I bring PA rom?

So I posted a Halo build and thread for the tmo HTC One. That thing is like a ghost town though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42337883#post42337883
Is there enough users for me to bring it here also?
Yes, please.
Sent from my HTC One 801e using xda app-developers app
That's because most people are in the international forum
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Like everyone with a one.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Well tmobile ATT and international are all GSM. So we can all just flash the one from the international forum. Most people who flash roms know they can just go to international so probably don't need a thread here, but may be worth a shot if you want more people to see it.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yes! But post in the international forum for more exposure.

Best Radio to flash?

What is the best radio version for AT&T? The newest version?
If someone could link it for me that would be great

Wait a minute did you make another new account? And you're still making pointless threads? I think we need to get a moderator to give you a permaban
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
How is this a pointless thread? Please just leave me alone I have done nothing wrong.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Because you should try them for yourself and there's a freakin thread in the development section
And I could recite the things you've done wrong if I need to to jog your memory.

Ok... In this forum??? Care to elaborate a little more?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What is there to elaborate on? There is at the very least 5 or 6 kernels for this device either here or in the international forum

Now see that is what I was trying to get out of someone... I wasn't sure what other forums that I could look in. I have not performed the super cid and didn't know if I could go outside the at&t threads to find another one.

You don't need to change the cid for anything except flashing ruu's or firmwares
