Anyone else getting random app reboots? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Was in the middle of a tournament in Zynga poker and the app just restarted. Same thing happened while playing Galaxy on Fire HD.

The fact it happened on two devices would indicate it is the app not the phone. Try asking the app forums.

Never had app restarts unless it's updating. Try using Greenify app to stop apps running in the background.

Not 2 devices. Galaxy on Fire HD is a game.

I can't properly close it if it randomly restarts.

reboots
Im more concerned with the random device reboots on my 9200:/

If you are rooted and have CWM, try wiping the dalvik cache and fixing the permissions.

Returned the Mega and got another one. While the new one seems more stable and slightly faster, it is also rebooting the same apps. :crying:

If this happens to specific apps then it might be the apps themselves not being compatible. I've never had this problem and so does other Mega users.

It just seems odd that the S3 and the Note 2 ran these apps just fine.

Sometimes the app needs an update to run smoothly on newer processors and GPU like the one on the Mega. The S3 and Note 2 have similar CPU and GPU.

I hope so. Phone is worthless if it can't run the apps I use the most.

[Q] Should Modern Combat 2 HD work on SGSII?

Hi,
I installed Modern Combat 2 HD from Samsung's Games Hub and it crashes after downloading all of the extra 249MB.
I tried to use Chainfire's CF3D driver with NVIDIA plugin but it didn't work as well.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I bought this game today and it runs fine on my Stock Galaxy S2.
I have the game as well and it runs fine on my phone :/
I had issues running it, got force close errors all the time. Someone on another thread posted a work around.
Try to open it, after you get the fc dialog, click ok to get rid of dialog then hold the hardware home button for a couple of seconds. A list of recently opened apps will be displayed. Find the game here and open it. Should work from here

OMG stBlueJay this actually works!

I will try this in a minute.. I will update this post if it works.
What Build number is everyone using? I am currently on KE2. It could be a bug that is build specific.
I'm running KE7 and this workaround works for me.

Er, why not just buy it at the Market? The version there is fully compatible with the SGSII, I have it on mine.
I bought it from Samsung GameHub. Everything there should work perfectly.

I don't really understand this comment? What's the difference between buying it on the market or off the Gameloft website?
It was available for £1 on the Gameloft website, which automatically picked up that my phone was an SG2... surely it should be fully compatible with SG2 if they are making it available to owners of the phone on their website?

The installation/configuration of on-screen keyboards seems to be broken too, at least judging from your writing.
What is the exact error message or doesn't it show the apps at all? Are they shown on play.google.com?
Is everyone with an s3 t able to use whatsapp ? I'm looking to get one but that's not good

I won't try Whatsupp (that won't touch my mobile... ever!)
However Temple Run works just fine. As long as the OP doesn't tell us what exactly is going wrong it's pointless to guess.
Whatsapp and Temple Run works fine for me but the thing is temple run game sound cracks up and it cuts it doesn't play smoothly feels like i am lagging. Anyone having this issue or is it me having a hardware issue?

I think that error message is quite self-explaining.
You could try 'Market enabled' but I'm unsure if it still works. (requires root)

Branding or some freakish stuff might be the cause, but I'm unsure.

Hi, would anyone be so kind to download/upload me the app "Tout"? I used it some days ago, deinstalled it, now i have a new provider an it tells me: "This app is incompatible with your O2 Samsung GT-I9300.

Thats totally bull**** of course because i used it already before with the same phone.

Great Big War Game

Does anyone else play this game on their N10? If so, do you have problems with the device getting hot and random freezes/reboots while playing the game?
I play it all the time, no issues or heating that I can tell that isn't normal while playing any other games.

I used to play it on stock. However, im on PA now. I'll try to play and i'll give you some feedback.
I just did a fresh install of stock 4.2.2 (just rooting). Installed my apps and played GBWG for about 15 minutes. The screen freezes, then my N10 reboots.
I then install CM10.1. I installed Titanium Backup and restored only GBWG. Same thing, froze and rebooted after about 15 minutes.
I then installed Paranoid Android, and for whatever reason, that ROM seemed to work OK. I will have to experiment more, but I may have found a winner.

Lol. I didn't have problems either on stock or PA. Did you install all the same apps on the 3 roms?
Initially yes, but then I installed the rom and only GBWG to see if any of my apps were causing the problem, but the results were the same.

I have played Great Little War Game and had no problems, havent played the "big" war game though. The games should handle about the same since they run on the same game engine. I have mostly run on CM10.1 as my ROM with the KTmanta kernel

[Q] Problems with JellyBean on Ace 2

Hey!
So around a week ago I installed 4.1.2. android on my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.
First of all, It has been released officially for Ace 2, but it worked good for only first 2 or 3 days. Now its a complete disaster. It runs smooth only until I open any kind of app. Im starting to think about reinstalling 2.3.6 back, but I really like the Jellybean. Maybe anyone here knows how to fix this problem?
For example, this morning when i took my phone in hand for first time today, I opened youtube and turned device horizontally. They alarm clock started to ring and It didnt even offer me to shut it off. When after like 3 minutes i managed to do it I went back to youtube and there I turned device back vertically and video just stayed horrizontally , freezed and just with sound. And couldnt even turn that off for like another 5 minutes. And this goes with most of the apps. Its really annoying.
Hope to see some solutions
Did you use greenify root app?
It hels you to hibernate apps when you are not using them.
Also try not to use memory hog apps..

Havent used any app for now.
Android was installed with official wirmfare with Odin3 v1.3.
And what is memory hog app , and what if my phone is not rooted?
A memory hog app is an app which constantly runs in the background and drains the memory..
For example crappy apps like Samsung chat and others..

Rooting will allow you to remove bloatware from your phone and hence speeding up your phone.

whats bloatware? sorry im kind of new to this stuff..
and I just found out that the youtube is the only thing that makes my phone freeze. when i open a video it just starts lagging and freezes the phone. everything else works fine. could it be some kind of update (youtube) problem?
and also... do I get some other advantages of rooting my phone too ?

Xperia Z Ultra cannot install big games (Asphalt 8, GT Racing 2...)

Recently it seems like my Sony Xperia Z Ultra cannot installa anymore big games like Asphalt 8. When downloading it, I can see the estimated time changing very fast, like it's always recalculating the how many MB it has already downloaded, but in a very crazy way! For a few seconds I can read that I've already downloaded 600MB....and a few seconds later it tells me that I've already downloaded 1GB...and then again few more seconds and I have 600MB again! This craziness goes on until I finish downloading the game, but then it tells me that there was an error and it cannot be installed. As I wrote, I initially thought that it was a problem with the only Asphalt 8, but then I tried uninstalling GT Racing 2 and installing it back again with no luck! It seems to have the same kind of problem!
I actually have 5.4GB of internal free space and I cannot install neither Asphalt 8 nor GT Racing 2!
Any idea?!!?
Thanks in advance

On previous devices I've had issues where Uninstalled apps or data leaves trace files littered all over the shop... Have a look in /data and /system/app and check weather there are any residual folders left over, if so manually delete them.
