Hey guys!
Sorry to bother you but I'm currently facing a problem I don't know how to solve. I've flashed the latest build of cm 10.2 unofficial by johnnyslt (2508) and now the phone is stuck on the green HTC logo and won't boot. I've been using the rom since the first build (before that cm 10.1) and never had any problems (well, except the known bugs). So, can any of you give me an advice as what to do? I've tried flashing previous builds but with no result. I can access both recovery (4ext) and bootloader. Some more information: SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL, HBOOT-1.49.0007, RADIO-11.25.3504.06_M, UNLOCKED bootloader.
Thank you very much for any help!
Did you try a clean install? format all partitions(except sdcard) in 4ext then flash rom and gapps. If it still doesnt boot try manually flashing boot.img from fastboot
and make sure the file is downloaded correctly (check md5 sum)
Thank you very much sir, you saved my phone's life. Just in case someone runs into the same problem, clean install didn't help at all, however extracting boot.img from the rom zip file and flashing it through fastboot did the trick.

You can't flash Aosp roms such as Cyanogenmod with S on.
By just flashing the rom through the recovery. You have to flash the boot.img as well
Flash a stock rooted rom through the recovery than flash the boot.img from the rom zip and it should be fine.
If you can't figure it out private message me and i can help you remotely using teamviewer.

With the Unlimited metod you can S-OFF , and then go to CM 10.1 wroking roms.
instal 4ext recovery and smart flash s-on cm 10.1
Hi, first of all, my English is bad and i'm a noob at installing custom roms
My HOX+ is rooted and i have the TWRP Recovery installed.
So, i downloaded the newest CM11 Nightly for my device (enrc2b) from the Cyanogenmod site.
When i try to flash it with TWRP it says:
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset
E:Error executing updater binary in zip ' /sdcard/cm-11-20140902-NIGHTLY-enrc2b.zip
Error flashing zip ' /sdcard/cm-11-20140902-NIGHTLY-enrc2b.zip
I also downloaded a Snapshot version of CM11
It says:
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error executing updater binary in zip ' /sdcard/cm-11-20140308-SNAPSHOT-M4-enrc2b.zip
Error flashing zip ' /sdcard/cm-11-20140308-SNAPSHOT-M4-enrc2b.zip
So finally i downloaded the CM10.2.1 Version
I wiped all cache and data and did a factory reset.
After flashing the .zip and rebooting the phone, but i got stuck in a boot loop (i think) because i waited like 20 minutes but the boot animation didn't change (blue guy with the arrow). Did i do something wrong
I just restored my phone to the backup i made (stock rom)
If you need any information about my phone or something just say it.
I also heard about using CWM instead of TWRP but i don't know how to change it.
PLZ HELP :crying:
CWM recovery
Install this recovery for installing CM.
And don't forget to redo your backup after installing the new recovery before installing CM.

I'm working with a Mac so it might take a while before i understand everything but i'll let you know if it worked.
So yesterday i installed the CWM and flashed Cyanogenmod11 Nightlies at 00:10. I got the boot screen with the guy and the arrow spinning, but when i wake up at 7:00 it was still in the Cyanogenmod boot screen wit the arrow (the arrow was lagging).
So i tried flashing the Snapshot version and it also didnt pass the screen with the arrow (lagging)
After that i flashed the CM10.2 and the arrow wasnt lagging anymore but it didnt pass the screen with the arrow
Every time before i installed another version i did a Factory reset in CWM
So am i doing something wrong plz help?

Do you mean with "boot.img" the recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.8-enrc2b.img
This is all i did (i dunno of the screenshot will display i uploaded it as attachment)
I've flashed the recovery.img, thats also the only thing i downloaded on the CWM site.
I also downloaded the Cyanogenmod rom on the CyanogenMod Download site or do i have to download it from the CWM enrc2b Roms?
Edit: I've found out that the boot.img is needed for the device to boot and that i can flash it in recovery.
But is there a special HOX+ boot.img or a Cyanogenmod boot.img or whatever i need? And where can i find it

you can find it inside the rom zip file, just extract it into your adb/fastboot folder and flash it (in fastboot mode) using "fastboot flash boot boot.img". also i recommend (maybe not necessary) using "fastboot erase cache" before and after flashing boot.img.
Also you may need to reflash rom in recovery after flashing boot.img.

Alright i did what u said and i have 1 more question;
If i want to go back to the stock rom, do i need to flash a "stock" boot.img?
Edit: Cyanogenmod is working, i only need to install the Google apps (i think).
Stock boot image
You can flash the Nik3r version to come back to the stock boot image.
And you need to flash the GAPPS in recovery for the Google apps

If you want to go back to stock completely (including relocked bootloader) you will need everything completely stock and matching your phones CID. Of course you will need to flash the corresponding boot.img for every rom. But as far as i know/tried, nik3rs oxp_kk kernel works for all 4.4 roms and the other version works for all Sense5 based custom roms and maybe stock rom (if you don't need relocked bootloader).

Thx, i have installed the Gapps and it's working good.
The only thing i notice is the fast battery drain, is it possible to underclock some thing so the battery last longer, and which apps are good for that?
And if i want to go back to the stock rom, i just have to go back to my "stock rom backup" in recovery and flash nik3rs oxp_kk kernel?

no, oxp_kk is just for 4.4 (kitkat) AOSP like roms. there's another non- kk version which works with 4.2.2/sense5 roms, but i don't know about stock roms. There's also a fallback kernel version which should work with all stock and custom 4.2.2/Sense 5 roms.
Hi Everyone!
I am new in this forum, so please be nice. i have problemwith my htc desire x. I have unlocked bootloader, installed CWM 6.0.3.2, and when i made S-off by rumrunner I can't start any rom. i tried stock with stock kernel; stock with nexus kernel; miui with nexus kernel;miui; myONEdx+;mySENSEdx+ and anyone of them can't start. i can open recovery, hboot, fastboot etc. but i can't start any rom
On the bootloaderscreen: which HBoot version do you have and what text is on top of that screen (text starts probably with PROTOU).
CWM: take a different recovery. Tutorials and links can be found on this link.
i have hboot-1.25.0002
radio-1.15.40.04
PROTO PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-T-MOB009
I tried older cwm and two versions of twrp before and none of them let me install sucessfully an os.
Maybe this thread is of any help? Looks like the same problem. Install TWRP 2.7.1., format boot partition. If you already installed TWRP 2.7.1: what happens?
i think it is another problem because i have message from twrp "no os installed". today i discovered that twrp and cwm can't write anything on /system. it only made "bin folder which is empty. i tried to repair and changing filesystem from recovery but it didn't helped.
Are you able to format the partitions? Maybe one of the guru's can join in this thread
sometimes i can but sometimes can't even mount it.
i talk today with my friend and told that might be important information: i made s-off without root.

There's no blu spark kernel for ROMs/OOS with updated bootloader . Not sure if that's what causing the error 7 but its a start. Try using. Sultans uodated twrp I don't have any issues with it.

Update the Boot-loader first, you can follow a post found in home page of opx, u still have to use another TWRP recovery (not official) after updating bootloader. U vil get all info in the thread.

Hi, according to your post, i followed this description http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-update-bootloader-firmware-to-t3478917
flashed "OPXBLUpdateOOS3.1" and new TWPR afterwards "twrp-3.0.2-2_blu_spark.v41-onyx_by-engstk.img" with no error!
rebooted into recovery, tried to install "cm-13.0-20161204-NIGHTLY-onyx" ... and guess what?! ERROR 7 again!
so i am defenetly on new bootloader, i tried all 3 options from the threat above (flashed via ADB and via SD card) no problem! also got bootloader unlocked info form ADB.
everything works, till i try to flash a CM image... then i receive ERROR 7 ;(
Hey There,
I`m stuck with the same Error.
The only Recovery i can boot ist the normal TWRP Recovery.
The blu Spark TWRP Recovery, the Stock Recovery and the CM13 Nighty Onyx Recovery wont work. I get the fastboot DTB not found Error.
And I cant install any custom ROM. I Always get the Error 7, ZIP could not be installed from Z://
If i erase the Assets it boots directly in to Bootloader (without saying Fastboot Mode on the screen, but with the OnePlus Logo).
If I flash one of the CM14 versions it gives no error 7 but boots into the Bootloader as well.
I have no custom kernel installed.
My plan was to flash the CM13 Nighty Onyx Recovery but I cant get around the DTB error,
Thanks for Help.
Greetings Clon
EDIT:
I tied the BL Update from the mentioned thread above.
aaaaand: Error 7
Here is my complete error:
Code:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
[COLOR="Red"]Updater ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/ROMs/cm-13.0-20161122-NIGHTLY-onyx.zip'[/COLOR]
---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:56 PM ----------
Okay I have a Solution, but I dont know how I did it.
This is what I made.
1. I did a factory reset.
2. I did a factory reset. (Why not tho)
3. I restarted the recovery.
4. I did a factory reset.
5. I changed the filesystem for data partition. (It was on ext4, but I changed it to ext4 although to get Errors out or something like that.
6. I rebooted into Bootloader.
7. I flashed and booted this recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20236&task=get (and got no dtb error. yay!)
8. I installed the nightly CM, and the latest gapps (and i got no error 7. yay!)
I know its a bit random but i think the error has to do something with the data partition and the filesystem....
Void your warranty!
hey all!
So this is a first for me... I've been rooting and playing with android for a very long time (going back to the g1 days) and this is the first time I've ever seen this.
So I was on an old version of CM and decided it was time to update finally. I had unrooted a long time ago, but was still running cm perfectly fine. I went to install a new version of recovery (so I could update) and now when I try to boot into recovery I just get the oneplus logo. Here's the strange part, the phone isn't soft bricked... I can still boot into android no problem.
Anyone else every seen this problem? Do I need to start over (unlock bootloader, root, recovery, rom)?
Anyone else ever seen this happen on Oneplus One or any other phone for that matter?
Thanks in advance!
Same Problem Here
I am having the same exact issue with my OPX: I wanted to update my old CyanogenMod and for that I needed to update my TWRP. After I flashed it successfully when trying to boot into Recovery it stucks on the 1+ Logo forever.
If I boot into OS it works (the same old CM since I haven't been able to upgrade), Fastboot as well, it's Recovery that doesn't work.
I found some post for the OP3 that state:
WHY AM I STUCK ON THE TWRP SPLASH SCREEN FOR 8 HOURS?
Be patient, wait another 8 hours.
Just kidding, try this while stuck on the loading screen:
adb shell wipe_misc; adb shell reboot recovery
Some devices might somehow get a flag set in misc that tells the bootloader to ignore the android boot image command line.
This results in the kernel not receiving the hardware name (qcom), which then confuses recovery and causes it to wait forever. FOREVER.

I guess you were right! Here's what I did:
- Tried to reflash TWRP using adb. It did flashed it but couldn't boot it and throws error "dtb not found".
- I found this post that first suggested to use the Blue Spark version of the TWRP. I tried adb-ing it and got the same error.
- In a later comment the following video was suggested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTdKmceC5xU.
- I the downloaded the stock recovery and the stock ROM from this page: https://devs-lab.com/download-oneplus-official-stock-rom.html. Be sure to find the OnePlus X section.
- Using adb I flashed the stock recovery, did a full wipe, rebooted and copied the stock ROM to my SD card.
- Reboot to Recovery, flash from local, selected the Stock ROM zip and let it do its thing.
- Again, from Fastboot I flashed the latest TWRP. I didn't get any errors now!
- Downloaded the Tesla ROM and flashed it using TWRP.
Everything is working fine now!
