You can't flash Aosp roms such as Cyanogenmod with S on.
By just flashing the rom through the recovery. You have to flash the boot.img as well
Flash a stock rooted rom through the recovery than flash the boot.img from the rom zip and it should be fine.
If you can't figure it out private message me and i can help you remotely using teamviewer.

[Q] htc dev unlock flash custom rom

Hello experts
I recently updated my unbranded evo 3D to official ICS , it has a lebanese sim card so im guessing its gsm not CDMA ?
I managed to unlock the bootloader thanks to htcdev(dot)com now its unlocked
My hboot version is 1.53.007 and i dont know how to root and i dont want to try the wire trick cz its so hard and i dont want to ruin my lovely EVO 3D htcdev said that i can install custom rom after unlocking the bootloader by installing the boot.img and installing the rom i dont know :/ can someone plz explain me how step by step
how to flash a rom to an unlocked with s on ics hboot 1.53.007 evo 3d ?
thanks in advance
You need to flash a custom recovery such as 4-ext (find it in EVO3d GSM dev section).
Once you have that, download any ICS-based ROM to your SD card and flash it via recovery menu. Then you will have root.
I m not sure if you can achieve root on the stock phone, using the superuser zip,but i hope i helped
Hi,
I'm intrested in too, but are you sure, that this is everything what he have to do, when he want to flashed new rom? Because I am in this situation too. I have unlocked my EVO via htcdev, S-ON and HBOOT 1.53.0007.
It would be great if someone has a more detailed tutorial how to do that.
Thanx and sorry for my bad english
plz we need an expert
i have managed to flash CWM using fastboot commands (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) but everytime i flash a custom i get stuck on the custom rom animation and when i flash the custom rom boot.img in fastboot the keeps restarting plzzz help mee:crying:
I have a CDMA HTC Unlock Guide in my signature that will explain the step by step. Keep in mind that you would need to use the correct GSM versions (shooterU) of the files, but the process is exactly the same.
- HTC unlock
- install custom "gsm" recovery via fastboot commands.
(fastboot flash recovery yourRecoveryFilename.img)
- boot/enter recovery via fastboot commands.
(fastboot boot yourRecoveryfilename.img)
- install current superuser & binaries zip(3.0.7) from recovery.
- reboot & you are rooted on stock Rom.
Note: you must enter recovery via the fastboot command prompt to avoid bootloop Issues with kernel (you can install 4ext Recovery as a workaround to this later). See the stickies in the gsm section for links or start with this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24054039
Sent from my "Up all night, Sleep all day" EVO3D!

[Q] HTC Evo 4G LTE Custom Rom Issue

Originally had a stock Evo then decided to root it and install a custom rom.
I rooted it using the RegawMod
Then I tried to use goomanager to install the rom, but this didn't work
So I tried to manually install the rom through TWRP, I made a backup then I flashed the superwipe(smw6180) script and flashed that first then I flashed the custom rom I downloaded (UR_EVO_4G_LTE_SIX)
Now, when I reboot it shows the HTC boot screen, then goes to black.
I am able to get back into recovery pretty easily but am not able to restore my backup, I still keep getting the black screen
Also whenever I am flashing my backup or my new rom, its says that it took 0 seconds to complete, which I find very odd
The recovery page looks like this
***Tampered***
***Unlocked***
Jewel put ship s-on rl
Hboot 1.15.000
Radio 1.05.11.0606
Open dsp v251.0.32.0405
eMMC-boot
jun 18 2010
Does anyone have any suggestions to how to fix this? I have searched everywhere but no one has any real answers.
You have to flash the kernel separately.
Easiest thing to do, go to the TeamWin website and get the latest twrp recovery image and a copy of meanrom from the development section, fastboot flash recovery and install meanrom, it has a kernel installer so you don't have to flash the kernel separately

Would it be possible to install the PJ75IMG.zip and do this through the bootloader. Then flash mean rom?
Or do I have to do the ADB Fastboot method?

There's an app called flashGUI in playstore that installs kernel for you. But it doesn't always work and can mess up. In that case you will need adb tools to get it working right. So it is reccomended u go ahead and learn adb tools, may as well install kernel with it.

Ok, I am not entirely sure what kernel I should use? Where should I look? The UR_Evo page?

MeanROM 4.0 and above has a built in kernal installer included so no need to flash the kernal separately
Thanks for all of your responses. I used fastboot to install a recovery, then installed meanrom.
Everything seems to be working perfect!!
I also got my foot in the door with using adb, which is awesome.
The kernel is the boot.img in any rom. So, if u want to flash anything other than mean rom flash the boot.img either before or after u flash the whole rom. Not too hard really

Stuck on HTC logo bootscreen - cm 10.2 (unofficial)

Hey guys!
Sorry to bother you but I'm currently facing a problem I don't know how to solve. I've flashed the latest build of cm 10.2 unofficial by johnnyslt (2508) and now the phone is stuck on the green HTC logo and won't boot. I've been using the rom since the first build (before that cm 10.1) and never had any problems (well, except the known bugs). So, can any of you give me an advice as what to do? I've tried flashing previous builds but with no result. I can access both recovery (4ext) and bootloader. Some more information: SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL, HBOOT-1.49.0007, RADIO-11.25.3504.06_M, UNLOCKED bootloader.
Thank you very much for any help!
Did you try a clean install? format all partitions(except sdcard) in 4ext then flash rom and gapps. If it still doesnt boot try manually flashing boot.img from fastboot
and make sure the file is downloaded correctly (check md5 sum)
Thank you very much sir, you saved my phone's life. Just in case someone runs into the same problem, clean install didn't help at all, however extracting boot.img from the rom zip file and flashing it through fastboot did the trick.

Sure I will try it in the evening.
You can definitely Unlock it using the HTCDEV process , I have a done this. Any ways if you are able to flash a ROM then there is no reason to get it Unlocked, more over S-OFF gives you full control over the device but again it also increases the risk of getting your phone bricked so make sure you use it wisely (knowing what you flash) , so I will say why to beg HTC for some thing they have already provided.
One more thing S-OFF device means you dont need to flash boot.img separately so you dont need to use your PC to flash roms no more.
Waiting to know about your progress on flashing the ROM ..

I have now successfully flashed a Rom..initially I tried it without flashing the boot.img and it entered a boot loop.
Then I installed flashify and flashed boot.img that came with the Rom. Then the Rom is working now.
The boot loader is still locked. Has twrp .

so you mean to say you failed to install the boot.img from the custom recovery ? well that is weird, one more thing since you were in boot loop how did you manage to install flashiffy !
if you may please include the complete flashing steps , will be helpful for my experiments.

Initially I flashed the Rom alone and it went into bootloop and all buttons became unresponsive .so I waited till the battery ran out and the phone switched off. Then I recharged , entered recovery by vol down + power button.. I had the backup there . So I restored back up.. then phone rebooted normally.. and I flashed boot.img by flashify just because I didn't know any other method... Then from recovery I wiped dalvik cache and system .. flashed the new Rom.. reeboot and fine..
Feel free to ask for any more clarification..

Yes there is. S-OFF your phone via rumrunner (just Google... you'll land at their site and follow the instructions there). Then have a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50190792&postcount=47

First of all, u cant flash jb recovery on ics hboot, u need to flash ics recovery which is here - http://d-h.st/eCC .
And download any ics Rom & ics kernel & flash it.
- ( Ics Recovery for ics hboot)
- ( Ics Rom for ics hboot)
- ( Ics kernel for ics hboot)
Then after all that ,view all the instructions & prerequisites required for S-off & start it.
(Most important one is disable all lockscreens)
