modded seclauncher2.apk not working - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm trying to get my modded touchwiz launcher to work.
The only thing i actually did was change the grid seize based by decompiling and compiling the app based on these two threads:

during this procedure i didnt get any errors but when i put the the modded file into system/app folder, fix permissions and reboot.. nothing happens, i cant select my modded app as a new launcher.
Could anyone help me out with what im doing wrong? Ill add the modded apk if someone would like to take a look into it, since i do not have that much knowledge about modding.

Sometimes making changes to apps, they compiled fine but when installing, failed.
Perhaps this is your /system/app equivalent.
Maybe best to ask in the threads linked in post1

And could it be that i used wrong values during my edit of the app and could this be the cause why it wont be recognized? Or should it launch no matter if there are wrong values?
But i would be suprised if i did something wrong inside those files since i did exactly what those two threads said i had to do..
Anyways will also ask for advice overthere, still advice in this thread is also appriciated thanks for trying to help me out!

Are you trying to get the 5 x 5 home screen app display
I looked at the apk you uploaded in the first post and none of the values have been changed they are the same as stock settings but if you do this a lot of the widgets wont display properly as they are based on screen size of 4 x axis so changing this to 5 will cause the widgets to sit to one side or the other in portrait mode, they wont sit central.
If you do this on the Menu pages then this will work as long as you make sure you have any rotation off because the screen can only show 5 x 5 in portrait mode, if you rotate to landscape mod it wont show 5 x 5 a row of aps will be missing as it will only show 4 on the vertical axis not 5.
You need to edit the files mentioned in the second post in the res/values-sw359dp-xhdpi
You need to edit these Integra.xml values from 4 to 5 for the Home screen
<integer name="home_cellCountX">4</integer>
<integer name="home_cellCountY">4</integer>
You need to edit this value from 4 to 5 for the Menu screen if you want that to be 5 x 5
<integer name="menuAppsGrid_cellCountX">4</integer>
You will also need to play around with the values mentioned in the second link in your original post to get it to actually fit the way you want it to look as those values can vary.
You will also need to change this value in the dimens.xml to re-position the page indicators as 472 will no longer be in the correct place
<dimen name="home_pageIndicatorTop">472.0dip</dimen>
A lot of test and retest unless you actually know how to calculate the actual layout positions
Basically a lot of hassle, not worth it and you have to lock the Launcher to portrait mode as the apps wont all display in landscape mode.
