Ok. I rooted my atrix before 4.5.145 released. Having rooted its not possible install that OTA(it went into boot loop when tried installing OTA on a rooted device) update. So decided to go back to stock ROM. One solution i found was flashing original .sbf using rsd lite. But it is not recommended to flash .sbf it might brick the device. My case i just flashed the .sbf. It went well i was uprooted after the flash and was able to install 4.5.145. Now i am again rooted and unlocked.
Edit: Other method if you have backed up your stock rom before flashing custom rom i guess you can returned to the backed up stock rom any time using recovery managers(CWM).

Hi guys, I have had my phone for a few weeks now and I'd like to ask about a little problem I have been experiencing. So, I just rooted my device this morning and flashed the new ICS ROM. Though, I realised that I prefer MIUI. So, when I loaded recovery to flash my new MIUI ROM, I was greeted by a blue 'CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7'
I don't understand this because when I rooted this morning the recovery I had was a different version and it was orange.
What I need to know is the steps I need to take to flash a new ROM from scratch. Do I need to go back to the original ROM, then re-root? Do I need to re-root at all even?
I guess I'm still kind of a noob, so any help would be appreciated and I will click that 'thanks' button for anyone who gives a good answer.
Thanks in advance, Joe.

CWM and root are not directly related.
CWM comes with the kernel.
Root is part of the rom.
Miui will be rooted when you flash it.
You do not need to be rooted to flash roms via CWM recovery.

相信你是个中国人,要不然应该不能买到中国版的9100G。

I tried this before when I first flashed to CM9, I get bootloops. Since then, I forever stick to ICS and never trying to convert back to GB although I wish to do so. I dare not and i'm lazy to deal with the bootloops.. I not sure why I get bootloops btw, some other ppl faced that as well. So I hope this brother able to convert back to GB successfully. Good luck.
To convert back to GB you have to flash an old GB bootloader for some reason after flashing the stock ROM. After that do a full wipe, everything else ended up in a bootloop for me.
Fingers crossed .

I can flash GB stock GDZKL3 after flashing this bootloader right? bootloader should flash before flashing rom, or after flashing the rom? Thanks.
I tried both options. Try flashing the bootloader at first but don't forget to uncheck "Auto-Reboot" in odin. After that you should be able to flash the stock GB ROM. Do you have a jig just in case of any problems? I remember I used my jig, but don't really know why.

Hi!
I am new to rooting and flashing on Android. I have an Xperia S which is currently in repair for yellow tint/spots on the screen. When I get it back and know that it is working i will unlock the bootloader using the official method.
My goal is to have rooted gingerbread on the phone, maybe with a better kernel. I have found a prerooted ftf with the FW that I want. Can I just flash that one and it will work?
Do I have to install custom recovery?
Thanks in advance!
Have I understood it right? unlocked bootloader + flash prerooted system rom. That should work?
If I want to install custom rom I need custom recovery. I would appreciate if someone could verify this for me, thanks!

custom ROMS http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/
and recovery is attached, just unzip and run bat.
Hey guys I rooted this phone almost a year ago and installed a custom rom. I remember the procedure being very different from other phones I have done and very complicated. At the moment I am still "S-on" and running Android Revolution HD 1.1.0 (android 2.3.4)
My goal is to install the newest version of Android Revolution ( looking for a very stable rom, so I'm open to suggestions)
The thread mentions extra steps if you are coming from a non-ics rom.
Also Im considering the Energy rom. (this one does not specify any extra complicated steps)
In the current state that I'm in should I run the all in one s-off tool? do I even need that for these roms? what recovery should I flash? (Im currently on a CW based recovery)
Thanks in advance for all the help.
you should first flash back to stock.... then update to ICS... after that you should once again unlock your bootloader and flash 4ext recovery this time.. but you id really suggest updating to ICS before trying to flash any ICS roms..., specially since your still "S-ON"

To my understanding, flashing back to stock requires the stock recovery and a stock image.
I found the stock image here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Amaze_4G/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
but can somebody help me find a stock recovery?

Hi devs,
I had KitKat from here: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535920) installed in stock slot using Safestrap 3.71. Unfortunately I accidentally uninstalled the recovery from Safestrap and now the phone won't start up. Flashing from stock recovery fails. What are my options experts? How can I revive my phone? Kindly link me to resources and guide me through this. I'm lost.
Thanks & Regards,
Sreyan

Is it possible to flash back to ICS from 4.4 over the stock slot? Do I need to flash using Fastboot or SBF? Does it have to be stock, 'coz I'm not sure if I'll even find a fastboot for a 4.4 stock.
Could you detail a bit on exactly which version of android should I flash with? That'd be of great help..
Thanks.

No, you can't go back to ICS. Your firmware flash will be official OEM Motorola firmware, so it will be Jelly Bean and why RSD lite is required. You will need the correct firmware for your region or carrier, or it won't complete the flash. read/watch tutorials first if you haven't used RSD before. Your 4.4 was a custom ROM. So there aren't any firmware flashes for it. After you have flashed with RSD and the firmware you will be bonestock, unrooted JB. From there root again, reinstall your recovery etc. etc.
Hit thanks if I helped.

Hi Draxin,
Thank you for the suggestion. About the OEM firmware, mine's an Asia Retail version of Razr. We never had an official firmware beyond ICS. So what do you suggest? Will deleting the CID and then flashing with a JB EU work?

If you didn't delete the CID to swap firmwares before to get CM11, I wouldn't start now. Most xt910 firmwares now are JB, and once you are on the motorola JB kernel you can't go back to ICS, which was why I said that. If you weren't on a official JB before then that doesn't apply to you.
I would flash the official Firmware for your device, and yes you will have to put your device into apfastboot for RSD lite.
