Incorrect pin code. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there;
So my phone is an HTC Sensation XE. I was on @android1234567's CM10.2 and after a while, right after booting up a new ROM update, my number wasn't registered on the network, saying "INCORRECT PIN CODE." on the lockscreen, and I have to search for networks and connect manually since then. The first problem I thought of was telephony-common.jar that I had replaced with the patched one in order to fix WiFi regional issues. But re-flashing the ROM didn't fix it (I don't remember if I tried with the original telephony). So I thought it was the ROM problem and considered to get back to ViperS/Revelation (I don't know which one I finally chose to install/restore); but I saw the same thing on that! :-\
Then I thought of my SIM corruption/difficulty, but encountered the same result on another SIM as well. :-|
Afterwards, I tried to change the PIN code, activating it, deactivating it, et cetera but nothing has so far fixed my problem... What do you guys suppose?

::Hero100 Unlock::

Hello everyone. I have one Hero100. I have the code for unlock but the phone has failed to unlock. It's locked on orange. When I enter the code , I get no service on the screen. and when I restart it, it asks for the unlock code again. How can I go about this? Its a bit strange.
sounds like orange gave you an incorrect code...
you have put a NON-orange sim in when you try this, yes?
if it fails again, go back to orange and ask for the correct code, as they have the wrong one.
The code is working. When I put the Code I get a successful msg but it wont pick up the network and also when it restarts it asks folr the code again.
The same
I have got the same problem.
I have got that unlock number but after unlocking phone, there is no range at all and info 'no service', but i am able to use 'Sim Toolkit'.
Where is a problem???
hi i'm having the same problem code is gud and it works but after that it says no servic. and when i restart or put any other sim again and turn on the phone it again asks for the code . whats wrong plz
I think not so many people have seen this phone.
I am also having this issue. Simlocked to Orange got my code and put it in and it was successful then it just stays on the 'unlocking sim' screen.
Been using HTC with windows mobile for years but decided to try android. Am I doign something wrong as I cant seem to access any phone fucntionality without putting a sim in then I get this problem we are having.
On a WM device you would still be able to access everything without having a sim in- just using it n PDA mode
, I am having the exact same problem. I have a HTC hero from orange as my contract phone. I have bought the unlock code from from swift unlock (ebay) and entered the code when prompted. The phone says the network is unlocked but the I can't get any network service, and if toggled the flight mode on and off or switched the phone off and on it will ask for the code again. If I put the orange sim in everything is back to normal. I even tried to hard reset the phone and have a fresh start while the unsupported sim is inserted but the same happens again with the addition of a message "unlocking sim". I thought the code was wrong or something, so I got the code again this time from a high street shop and it was the same code. So nothing is wrong with code itself. The guy at the shop told me that he has great problems with unlocking this phone as some seem to accept the code without any problems and others have this no service issue and he doesn't know the reason for it. I am thinking of flashing a new firmware and radio and see what happens, but this will be probably tomorrow. Sorry for my long post, but I wanted you to know that there is nothing wrong with code itself.
Yeah I dont think there is a problem with my code either. Im new to android but have been a winmo user for years, I havent rooted my Hero yet (only got it today) but that was going to be what I try next: root then network unlock.
Let us know what happens when you flash yours.
Possible Solution
When i unlocked my phone i thought the exact same thing, that it hadn't worked - it said no network, something something about my sim, etc. Later on though, I went outside and it was working. Unbelieveable i thought. Turns out when your in an area with no reception (my house) the Hero decides to boldly make sure you know that it's not getting any signal by giving you big scary messages
So once you've entered the unlock code, let it load up the UI fully, turn phone off, and then turn on again and put it somewhere you definately get a recpetion
Anyway this might answer your problems, then again might not.
Thanks for the suggestion but I dont think that is the problem in my case as I do get reception. Although for me once I have put the unlock could it it says success (or whatever) then goes to saying 'unlocking sim' it doesn't atually load up any interface.
Out of intereset where did you (all) your get your unlock code? I got mine from Unlock Now, anyone else got a code from them and can confirm it works?
Hi, I have flashed the new modaco 2.2 rom, and inserted the unsupported sim, but sadly with the same exact result "no service". I then flashed the latest radio from modaco, and repeated the steps but this time after the first time you put your unlock code it will say "no service as usual" but if you try to toggle flight mode on and off the phone will prompt for the code again and then it will greet you with a no sim is inserted or so, so it seems with the new radio the phone doesn't even detect your sim. If I put the orange sim everything is back to normal again even with the new radio.

Any fix?? No Sim Network Signal on Xperia SOLA

Hello everyone! I hope somebody can help me with my problem on my SOLA. As stated on the title on top I lost my Sim network Signal. The icon on top of the screen has been grayed out. It started when my SOLA was running a custom ROM SlimKat by alwaysadeel. I am not blaming the veloper but it goes like this, while the sola was on SlimKat I had this Advanced task killer pro installed on the phone. In the app, there is this FIX button at the buttom of the screen so hit it and then I started losing the Sim signal. I tired to hit that FIX button but nothing happened. Then I switch back to Stock ICS but the problem with sim signal is still there. Then I am seeing this "SIM not provisioned MM # 2 error" SIM that I tried to used during this issue are working/operational on other phones so I am definite that it is the device itself ha the problem and not the simcards. I even relocked my bootloader and tried fixing wigth PCC but I am so clueless how to fix it with PCC. If anybody has solution to this problem please I need your help. Thanks a lot.
Well, this is strange, you should be able to see signal after switching to stock ROM.
Assuming its a s/w fault.
anyways, first, the error means either sim card is corrupted or it hasn't been activated yet. Both are not possible in your case as we n=know they are working on other sets.
I suppose you are seeing this error AFTER switching to stock ICS, right ?
now, possible troubleshooting :
first, try CM, or again install SlimKat. After this you can try different kernels too.
second, check your ics release, it should be of your region, MT27a or MT27i, version should be right.
after downloading correct version, flash using flashtool, wipe everything.
hope it helps, as the problem is unique, i cannot think of any other possible solution.

I have a similar problem in a Xperia U, I've flash a CM9 rom like a month ago, and was working incredible, smooth, fast, everything ok, till this monday when lost signal, works ok with wifi, and also with data (at least in whatsapp, no fb, or youtube) but I can´t send sms or make a call, I've tried to flash stock (ICS) but the problem is there, even flashing just the baseband and the complete firmware with flashtool, I'll tried with GB now, but don´t know what else to do, when power on, recognize the carrier (for one or two seconds) then loose it, and when you search for networks, it say (Error al buscar redes) that an error ocurred, if you find a solution please share it, or if anyone have any suggestions, they are welcome... Thanks!!
PS. Can you believe it!?!?!?! MY own company have mi IMEI denied, I use a provisory sim card, FROM the carrier for a few days, while they changed my real number and gime my new sim card, to be able to change of company (carrier), then, a couple of months later, they discharged that "disposal" line and my IMEI went down with it, now I have to go to the office and solve the problem that they create me. Sorry, I know is offtopic, but I want to share in case someone else have this issue.

SIM not working?

Anyone have the issue where the SIM card isn't recognized? I'm on the RR newest ROM and the card isn't being recognized...I'm about to try the stock ROM and see how that goes.
Similar problem
I`m in a similar position I think. However, my phone recognizes the SIM but when checking the SIM-status the mobile radio seems to be off. I can´t change preferred network type, it just jumps back to "TD-SCDMA/GSM/WCDMA/LTE , I get no results when searching for mobile networks and when I use the *#*#4636#*#* - menu the "Turn on radio"-option wont respond. I`m on latest stock firmware and the phone is still displaying IMEI-numbers. I bought my unlocked European version of Oneplus X yesterday on an auction site, the seller has good reputation and he claims that it worked fine for him. I got a new SIM-card today thinking that would have solved the problem, no luck there however. I also did a hard reset and downgraded to an earlier version of a stock firmware and the error is still there. I noticed I had TWRP v.2.8.7.0 blu_spark r5 preinstalled when I bought it, its a custom kernel right? Could something related to the kernel be the root of the problem or the baseband? Any suggestions on what to do next?

Installed cm13 - cannot register phone on network.

Its been a long slog but ive got the os - I thought id open a new thread. I cant seem to register on the phone network. Its not the sim as ive tried another on (another provider) and that's the same and its also been a problem across all (even the stock images) that ive tried. Ive read on another thread is there a folder that I could have formatted which holds network or radio information....?
Just a thought....
Cheers.
ok - I believe its something to do with me imei number being forgotten....found a tool called the ARIZA patch but for some reason my cm13 build isn't rooted. Ive installed superuser but I still don't get root access (needed for ARIZA to work) I assumed the cm13 build would already be rooted....and idea's - I'm probably missing something...
Edit: just found the root slider - ariza patch doesn't work though - error is "phone not proper"

You could try this guide
Yep - looks like that's what happened - my imei number currently is that....well, at least I know now how to get it to a custom rom so ill have to reflash back to stock first - thanks for the link, that's a great help....ill report back in a bit...thanks again.
Nope - no luck so far....but that's definitely the problem.....lost the imei....ive never had the issue before - ive flashed mine loads of times (Note 3) and never had a problem so I never thought to back it up....if anyone has any other option I can try that'd be great....
Cheers
Ive followed the walkthrough but its not 100% clear - I might run through it a few times....
Supersu does not work on CM13, yet.
You need to turn on developer options in settings.
Well, all the stuff ive tried so far hasn't worked....I think id be looking at a manual entry (the imei is under the phone) so will try to find something along those lines....
I did try going back to a stock rom but seemed fruitless. ive gone back to cm13 as it seems the system is more open (obviously). It looks like the imei changer programs will work if xposed framework is installed....which I'm currently trying to work out how to do....easier said than done...
I think I'm done - I cant see any way of getting the imei back on there....think the phone has had it....my first loss...the xposed framework does not support the s2's architecture (that I can see)

I had a similar problem when I switched from ICS to JB, tree years ago. My phone would not register on any network no matter the SIM I put in (I tried 3 different operators). The only way I could solve it was with an apk called "Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock" - I had to work with that a little but after a little headache I could solve the problem. Since then, everything is ok - I can register on any network. My personal lesson from that experience is: "Never do a Factory Reset when upgrading Android (eg. ICS to JB, JB to KK, KK to LP and so on)." But that's only my experience. Now I'm on MM 6.0.1 (Cyanogen 13).
Ok- ill go take a look now....thanks for the link - I was hoping that someone could offer (something like this) so ive got another way of tackling it...cheers.
Edit - just gone looking and I cant see an app with the exact description....do you have the authors name (to narrow it down a little??)
Just to add this phone wasn't actually sim locked in the first place...are you saying that the side affect of using the sim unlocking software will insert the imei back in??

I bought my phone unlocked in 2011 - brand new, official release, so on.
I rooted it right away and started experimenting, installed tons of unofficial/official ROMs, playing with kernels, tweaking and everything, upgrading as soon as a new unofficial version would show up, from Stock Android 2.3.3 to... to X ... to Y... up to MM 6.0.1 (CM13) now.
I had few bricks over the time but I solved them in few hours to two days. But this problem with network registering was the longest of all and the scariest - it happened as I described it in the previous post. My understanding on that time (as I remember) was that the Factory Reset wiped my EFS.
That (Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock) apk gave me few codes I could use. Below is a note I made on those days (pretty confusing for me now, but it might help you):
-- Introducing "SIM network unlock PIN" didn't help me. I restart the phone and when it asked me the "SIM network unlock PIN", I introduced first the "Unfreeze code" but the network didn't unblock and then I introduced "SIM network unlock PIN" and the network unblocked."
As I searched now on Google Play I could not find "Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock" anymore. There is something called "GalaxSim Unlock" (by Spocky) - updated on december 2015, with support for Android 6.0.
Strange as mine I believe is the same as yours....unlocked generic phone. Ive not had any messages atall regarding "sim unlock" - my issue is theres a dummy imei in there - that's it although ill go and look now....any more information you have would be great...
Its the little things that help sometimes....I couldn't get the partitioning done atall then petrolcan mentioned a user and his script...then from that little bit of info I had a flashable zip that did everything for me...so everything helps.
I'm just not sure on the correlation between the sim unlock software and the imei missing....

Again, I'm not a specialist, but If I remember right, the EFS has to do with the IMEI, and on that time I have lost my EFS, and, I guess, my IMEI....
My S2 was usable (apks, games, wifi...) but not as a phone (for calling and receiving calls & SMS).
Or, you may want to try finding some ways of restoring EFS/IMEI....
yes, the efs folder holds the file which the imei is in (a bin file) but from what I read if you remove the efs folder completely the os will generate a new one....once you've got a new file then effectively you "should" be able to inject the imei into that thus renabling your phone (and therein lies the problem - getting the imeil back in) - yes, mines the same....everything works bar the phone access to the network...

Just guessing: Maybe "GalaxySim Unlock" injects the IMEI??? Check the description on Google Play:
"Detects errors like lost imei / serial in nv_data caused by third party apps"
You can give it a try with the free version - see what it founds on your phone.
I did try it....just gave me an nv_data error....nothing more than that...

I'll check about that tomorrow as I found few threads on XDA and I have to go now.... Hopefully you'll be "up and running" by the time I come back!
Heh - I hope so but I doubt it - spent about 5 hours Friday night, a good 12 yesterday and 12 the day before....any information you have would be great! thanks very much.
After looking around I think my best bet is the NV-items reader writer v1.0. but, I cant get it connected to the phone.....anyone got any clues on that one?? once connected it looks like you can edit the nv file and add the imei back in....

Samsung G355H Not registered on network after crashed update

Hello everyone, I'm a desperate noobie here trying to fix this issue for three days now.
So as stated above I have a Samsung Core Duo (SM-G335H) and three days ago I connected trough SmartSwitch and it offered to update my phone. I agreed and during the middle/second half of it my laptop and phone just crashed. I revived both and SmartSwitch told me about the update failure and I made an Emergency Recovery. After that recovery, at first, everything seemed to be working normally, but on the next day I noticed: "Not registered on network " error. It recognizes the SIM card, but when you try to find a network it says "Can't connect. Try later." and so on. I can't call, other peeps can't call me.
I have been researching this matter for days now and am very upset about this. Some say stuff like Odin/flashing/third party tools/settings, I don't know what to do, as I don't have much experience with those things.
Btw, my IMEI is not null, it is being displayed (so I guess the EPF folder is not damaged). The APN settings (I'm on T-mobile) are still there, I don't know what to fix about them.
I am running 4.4.2 KitKat and my Security Patch Level is dated 2016 if that is of any relevance...
I also did a hard reset: nothing. SIM card works in my other phone, so it's not damaged. I just now saw that the end symbols in my Baseband version and my Build number don't match. Could that be it? I've seen people recommending updating manually/flashing with a modem file. How do I go about this?
Also: my phone is rooted. Only that I very clumsily attempted it months ago and before this matter here I would have problems with binary updates and what not, "phone is not rooted completely", I already fixed that issue though, it has SuperSu on it.
Anyway, I may have messed up somewhere along the way leading to this problem.
Please don't recommend me reseting/rebooting the phone again or just re-inserting the SIM card, that doesn't fix it.
I welcome any other suggestions, I hope somebody can help me.
