[q] paranoid android 3.99: No mobile data connection - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey Good people,
I just installed Paranoid Android's 3.99 UMTS SYPDER ROM on my XT912. But I'm having issues, I could post directly to the PA's development thread 'cause I'm new done have up to 10 posts yet.
My mobile data connection is not working even when it's activated in my Settings. Other features seems to be working well, though, I haven't exhausted all of them.
I really need my mobile data since I don't have access to WIFI.
I'm on a GSM network in Nigeria. Thank you. Hoping for your help.

Maybe you are missing your service provider APN's you can add them manually.

The APN is correctly configured. I just cant see the mobile data indicator on the notification bar. In case you wonder, I did a very "clean" installation of the ROM. Wiped cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, and system on rom slot 1. Thank you.

I have tried all 4.2 roms on my xt912 but all to no avail, and the same is happening to 4.3 roms. The major challenge I keep on having is that no rom allows me use mobile internet connections. Another challenge I have is that, my phone is XT912. But since all XT912 roms are done with CDMA in mind, I can't install SYPDER roms on my phone, so I have keep on trying XT910 (umts_sypder) ROMS which are compatible with our GSM networks here. I don't know whether this could be the cause of my challenges.
Please, I need an answer to this: Is there anyway, I can flash in the factory radio software that come with device, so that it will replace the radio software using any custom ROMs? Thank you.

Hidden Menu for U.S. Optimus T

I have NEVER been able to enter the hidden LG menu with 3845#*509# or 3845#*500# on this phone in the U.S., keeps telling me Connection problem or invalid MMI code.
Anyone expert have any ideas?
are you talking about *#*#4636#*#* ?
Wow, very cool, never seen that before. Is there any way I can check the baseband? I upgraded my baseband and want to see if it has been updated, thanks again!!!

Thanks. I've only ever seen the codes given by calc, and I couldn't make those work, either.

AFAIK the only ways to know are:
1. see if works with a ROM designed for the baseband version. Not an elegant solution, to be sure.
2. or use the LGMDP tool to see what it says. I don't know how to do it without backing up/flashing, but it does show baseband version when it is backing up. Perhaps someone more familiar with the tool can chime in.
Regardless, the baseband info given in Settings | About Phone (in CM-derivatives at least) is said to be bogus.
hows the LG Optimus T with new baseband? is it working fully?
I want to use AdFad666 N-Series (new baseband)
another question
should I change baseband first then rom
or rom first then change baseband?
No problems with the new baseband, much better signal overall!!!
You upgrade baseband first (dangerous process, make sure to read the faqs)
Then full wipe
and then upgrade the newest rom from adfab!!!
hold on - are you telling me it is possible to use the new baseband with T-Mobiles G3 system and have even better signal strength?

That's what people are reporting.
I tried it with AdFad's N-series ROM and my data doesn't work, though. Some others report the same problem, but I don't know what the pattern is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, the new baseband has no support for the 1700 band (half of T-mobile's US network).
You'll probably need to be in a metropolitan area to test this, but try forcing WCDMA and see if you get data.
I'm eagerly awaiting your results, as the news that most rom developers are switching to the new baseband and leaving the Optimus T in the dust is getting rather depressing.
So is the Optimus outdated for the new ROMs with the new Baseband or T-Mobiles G3 system ???

I updated the baseband on my optimus t and installed the new N-series rom. So far everything is working fine. I even get 3g service in my office, whereas before I got no data.
You should change baseband first then flash the rom.

Have you tried every band? Post a speed test, perhaps?
I am typing this on a moving bus. No problem at all.

Signal is muxh better
Faster lock too to the network

Okay, then chances are your carrier is using a lot more than 50% of the 2100mhz band.
I wonder if there's a way to force 1700mhz and test it.

[Q] I hope this is a stupid question...

I've made to the point of flashing Bamf Rezound Ics V2.0 on my only-hours-old Rezound and I've got a couple issues i can't figure out.
First, I cannot get any version of wifi tether to work. It LOOKS like it's working, but nothing find's it's signal.
Second, whenever I flash a kernel I get "main version older" in the bootloader update.
Not sure what I'm missing, but I could use some easy help.
There is a zip somewhere on xda that you flash prior to flashing the rom to nix the main version issue, makes it a really low number. Not sure about tethering, I don't use it.
Sent from my Rezound
What version of wifi tether? Also make sure you are using the app that comes up first when searching for wireless tether. Should look like this when opened:

can't get wifi tether or wireless tether to work on with this ROM/something... Not sure what i did/didn't do.
It LOOKS like it's working. it says it's working. SU gives it permission, but NO signal anywhere.

Ok... got it all figured out. Didn't know i had to change settings in wifi tether to make it work right. all good now.
Before going and flashing kernels, make sure they are ICS kernels. So it can be compatible with your rom. Also if you like BAMF, give Nilsp business sense Rom a try.

I'm the kind of geek who typically flashes a lot more kernels than ROMs. The problem I was having with flashing kernels was tied to the main version, which the .zip tool fixed. I flashed an older kernel (possibly GB/AOSP?) at first that basically soft bricked the phone, but reflashing the ROM fixes that easy enough. I was VERY close to going to Nils B-ICS because it had Wifi Tether built in and working, but the solution to my problem was in his "Added and Modded". Had to change the profile and check "Routing Fix" like his OP says.
So, the whole solution to my problem was flash the versionLOW.zip, then the ROM, then the kernel, then install Wifi Tether, change the profile, and check Route Fix. If I'd flashed Business Sense first, I probably wouldn't have had any of these issues, but I didn't.
The answers were there, but i just didn't read enough to know what the tools I was looking at were for.
As always, it's great to be at XDA.

[Q] Not Receiving Voice Calls during Data on rooted Galaxy S III

I am going nuts here I have been searching all over the net and I still have not been able to fix this problem, so I am sorry if this seems like a repeated thread.
I have a Tmobile rooted Samsung Galaxy S III, I was running a nightly Cyanogenmod 10 ROM. Yesterday there was an update for that rom and I downloaded it and installed it, everything was fine and running smoothly until some people started telling me that they were not able to reach me by phone. I tried checking what was wrong and I finally realized that whenever I have my mobile data on or while I am using it I don't receive voice calls. I tried looking everywhere for a way to fix this and I came across the ##DATA# code in which I could turn off the DDTM option but unfortunately my phone doesn't recognize that code.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
this is the message I get every time I try to enter ##3282# code.
I thought that maybe something was wrong with the ROM itself so i decided to browse around here for one for my Tmobile samsung galaxy S 3 and I decided to install this one [ROM][4.2.2][RC1] LiquidSmooth ROMs - d2tmo - 2|14|13
after wiping data/cache and dalvik cache I installed this ROM and this is my current phone info
and still when I am using my mobile data I cant receive calls nor put the ##DATA# code to turn off DDTM.
is there any other way I could access that DDTM option? I am so frustrated or maybe I am doing something wrong.. I do admit I am no pro at this.
Another thing I realized is that even tho I did the factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and data cache on recovery mode my phone still says it only has 4gb free on its internal memory, isn't it supposed to be completely free after wiping all that stuff?
Please if any of you could help me I will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
anyone? please help!

Most of the dialer codes will not work on aosp based roms. I would try a different roms to see if it hardware. Also the cm nightlies can have random issues

Can you register on a network, despite it just showing as numbers or does the service not work either? I would post the build number of the software and which Z phone, in case there is something specific that someone else might know about.

If you're registered to the network, is there really an issue then, other than cosmetic? I know there are multiple versions of different Z phones, like c6602, c6603, etc. Did you make sure to get the correct update for your version? Did you update via OTA, FTF, or Sony PC Companion?

It's OTA update.
Not really cosmetic as I travel a lot and when I roam I need to select the cheapest plan.
I'm positive that it's the correct version. Never seen anything like that except WM 5.0 back in time.
Yea, not really sure. I've seen it while roaming, but that's it. Guess you could always try a factory reset...I find many kinds of phones, Apple and Android, benefit from resetting after OTAs, especially if it's a large jump in versions.
