[Q] Help With Base ROM, Please - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I need to return my EVO LTE to get another replacement, but I need the base ROM so I can flash it back to stock. Unfortunately, I can't gain access to the NANDROID backup I made of the base ROM before flashing the Viper ROM that I'm currently using. If someone would kindly post the base ROM that's compatible for my phone's build, I would be highly appreciative. Here's my phone's info:

Viperboy made a RUU tool that you can find at the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197909

If you are S-Off, you can use the viper RUU tool to go back to completely stock.

Or, as another solution, you can always flash the stock rooted rom, and remove superuser, thereby unrooting it.

Just be sure to relock the bootloader. But your best option would be to go S-Off, run VipeRUU, and use a mod to change the bootloader information that's displayed when you boot into the bootloader.

VipeRUU will put the phone back completely stock, locked bootloader and all. No need to use a mod like regaw's bootloader customizer to change the bootloader info.

Thanks, guys. My phone is still S-on. I'm really not concerned with relocking the bootloader since NO ONE ever checks for that stuff based on past experiences.

Well, as I suggested earlier, flash the stock rooted rom and remove SU permissions via the SU app.

Any issue with this? or should I try the HTCDEV unlock method again? I was unlocked but not sure when it went back to locked. Had to be during flashing something I guess. Thanks Hboot is 1.15

No. That text is irrelevant if you're S-OFF. However I do recommend you flash back to the LazyPanda 1.22.2222 HBOOT, either on the unlimited.io site directly, or using the RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer. That'll allow you to fastboot flash through the bootloader again.

Yes. If you flash the one from the LP site, the banner will say
--LazyPanda--
If you use the Bootloader Customizer, you can make it say whatever you want .

ICS upgrade

hi guys, i have an htc evo 3d gsm hboot 1.49 S-off with the stock GB rom, how can i upgrade to ICS, with the same hboot???? ( i have already followed this guide, but it gives me always the errore of the status 7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732984&highlight=status+7 )
Your are rooted, unlocked and s-off? Your phone is a gsm version. Are you looking for a almost stockish rom? Your recovery is ? Sounds like you should be able to flash any ics rom with your existing hboot as mine is also 1.49, you will need to flash the updated firmware
Now which sense would you like to flash? 3.6 or 4.1, 3.6 has 3d camera working as 4.1 sense has no working 3d camera at this point.

don't think root is the problem, if I remember correctly that particular error has to do with your device cid, so there's 2 solutions off the top of my head:
Comment out the CID check in the updater script for the rom(after looking at the link you posted I noticed there's a detailed guide to this one in the thread)
Change your CID

Is it possible to S-OFF on jellybean w/ latest stock kernel but HBOOT 1.19?

I flashed the latest stock kernel (option 2) for jellybean and when I tried to RUU my phone, it always fail (I think code 43 doesn't recognize version).
I thought about downgrading the kernel but I saw that people say it would result in a brick.
are there any methods that works with the latest stock kernel to RUU or better yet to S-OFF?

yes, you can get S-off with hboot 1.19 by going here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964309
please hit the thanks button if this helps you
That is actually the method that I tried to use but it doesn't work because I cannot flash RUU due to my kernel version

What is this option 2 you used? Power off your phone and then boot into bootloader. What hboot version do you have?
You can change kernel at any time, if u have a jb rom changing kernel will cause ur rom to stop booting,

How sure are you about this one?
The zip that I flashed contains not only the kernel but also the recovery, I heard people saying downgrading would result in a brick

Rooting help

I really need help!! I got this phone for free to replace htc tbolt. I managed to unlock it, but having issues pushing recovery to phone with adb. Adb does recognize my phone. Even tried with a PB98IMG.zip on hboot, but I get failed older. Maybe my path for adb are not right. I've been trying since Saturday with no luck. If I can install a custom recovery, then proceed to rooting and getting s-off. This is my software version.

So you have unlocked the bootloader through HTCdev.com correct?
And are you using the Rezound All-In-One Toolkit? Hasoon recently updated to 3.0. If It keep failing, try using the previous version (I believe I did it with V2.1)

PH98IMG.zip not PB
edit: didn't read you have a mainver problem then.. try edit2: eh you don't have recovery yet either.
if you got it to unlock you should be able to flash a recovery from fastboot ...
get http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23781936&postcount=428 the img from there and
then navigate to fastboot like how you unlocked and
"fastboot flash recovery recovery-ra-vigor-3.15-gnm.img"
here is a mainver fix for when you have recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23169557&postcount=4 in case you need it later
keep us updated I just now saw your pm... maybe we all can help you out
I finally figured out to finally root and install recovery. The other question is how do I return it back to stock ICS with s-on? I have to return it back do to poor bluetooth sound quality. People are telling me that it is very scratchy and can't understand me. I even tried a wired head set and sounds like I'm in cave. I was having trouble rooting do to that I was not creating a right path to adb to flash recovery. I installed twrp. To bad I have to return it back. At least I learned a little about adb. My gnex is way easier to root. This guys.

Does anybody have the stock ICS kernel that is flashable through recovery. Just in case I want to revert back to stock rom. I'm planning on using htcdumlock.

!!Help on going back to stock!

Ok, I am running JB Meanbean rom. I have a recovery to stock back up on my Sd card but TWrp wont let me installed.
Do i need to lock the bootloader in order to flash back The stock Ics?
I want to take the OTAs from htc, and update my radios and then re root again.

Yes you do need to lock your bootloader and run the stock ruu to update via HTC OTA. Check this video out to lock your bootloader.
Or check this link out if you are s-off or hboot 1.12 unlocked to flash radios.
Ultimately, if you want to accept HTC OTA you must be locked and flash stock RUU.
Now..is there a current working method to root and unlock after I take the OTAs ?
I want to do this because my radios is way old.. Then I am S-ON to make it worst. The way for me to be soff is to Racoon it but it wont support Win8.

You can acquire root via HTC Development website after taking OTA. It won't matter to you because you are s-on already.

i'm getting ready to sell my rooted/unlocked/custom rom EVO lte... and i'm wondering after i relock it, what the steps are for then loading up the stock RUU image and unrooting, so that the buyer can then accept OTA updates and can take it to sprint, etc. i looked for an FAQ for this device but haven't been very successful.... i'm sure it must be right in front of my face??
