Rooting help - HTC Rezound

I really need help!! I got this phone for free to replace htc tbolt. I managed to unlock it, but having issues pushing recovery to phone with adb. Adb does recognize my phone. Even tried with a PB98IMG.zip on hboot, but I get failed older. Maybe my path for adb are not right. I've been trying since Saturday with no luck. If I can install a custom recovery, then proceed to rooting and getting s-off. This is my software version.

So you have unlocked the bootloader through HTCdev.com correct?
And are you using the Rezound All-In-One Toolkit? Hasoon recently updated to 3.0. If It keep failing, try using the previous version (I believe I did it with V2.1)

PH98IMG.zip not PB
edit: didn't read you have a mainver problem then.. try edit2: eh you don't have recovery yet either.
if you got it to unlock you should be able to flash a recovery from fastboot ...
get http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23781936&postcount=428 the img from there and
then navigate to fastboot like how you unlocked and
"fastboot flash recovery recovery-ra-vigor-3.15-gnm.img"
here is a mainver fix for when you have recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23169557&postcount=4 in case you need it later

keep us updated I just now saw your pm... maybe we all can help you out

I finally figured out to finally root and install recovery. The other question is how do I return it back to stock ICS with s-on? I have to return it back do to poor bluetooth sound quality. People are telling me that it is very scratchy and can't understand me. I even tried a wired head set and sounds like I'm in cave. I was having trouble rooting do to that I was not creating a right path to adb to flash recovery. I installed twrp. To bad I have to return it back. At least I learned a little about adb. My gnex is way easier to root. This guys.

Does anybody have the stock ICS kernel that is flashable through recovery. Just in case I want to revert back to stock rom. I'm planning on using htcdumlock.

[Q] Help With Base ROM, Please

I need to return my EVO LTE to get another replacement, but I need the base ROM so I can flash it back to stock. Unfortunately, I can't gain access to the NANDROID backup I made of the base ROM before flashing the Viper ROM that I'm currently using. If someone would kindly post the base ROM that's compatible for my phone's build, I would be highly appreciative. Here's my phone's info:

Viperboy made a RUU tool that you can find at the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197909
If you are S-Off, you can use the viper RUU tool to go back to completely stock.

Or, as another solution, you can always flash the stock rooted rom, and remove superuser, thereby unrooting it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045935
Just be sure to relock the bootloader. But your best option would be to go S-Off, run VipeRUU, and use a mod to change the bootloader information that's displayed when you boot into the bootloader.

VipeRUU will put the phone back completely stock, locked bootloader and all. No need to use a mod like regaw's bootloader customizer to change the bootloader info.

Thanks, guys. My phone is still S-on. I'm really not concerned with relocking the bootloader since NO ONE ever checks for that stuff based on past experiences.

Well, as I suggested earlier, flash the stock rooted rom and remove SU permissions via the SU app.

HOX+ wont boot and not reckognized by computer

I have the HTC One X+ from ATT. The other day I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device and have TWRC installed. I was trying to get cyanogenmod and placed the correct zip file for that and gapps on my phone but was having trouble getting my computer to recognize the phone when trying to flash boot.img. For some reason it wasnt going well and I tried to restore... and basically I am at the same point where the phone can start to boot but gets stuck at the htc one screen. I have already tried wiping and restoring and all of that. So at this point I installed the htc driver on my computer which I thought worked but my computer still isnt recognizing the phone in twrp. I have been trying to sideload any rom at this point but I cant do the ADB commands because my computer will not recognize the phone.
I would greatly appreciate your help!

you sir are super duper lucky, this is the "pre" 4.2.2 RUU but it run's exactly the same way as the released version
RE-LOCK the bootloader
download and flash in the following way
HBOOT needs running and flashing first : http://www.mediafire.com/download/jbt8k6ddffafakv/(Hboot)_RUU_EVITARE_UL_J.exe
THEN flash this RUU : http://www.mediafire.com/download/kdmjehdji8onild/RUU_EVITARE_UL_JB_50_S_C.exe
enjoy, re-unlock the bootloader after
FYI you WILL LOSE everything on /data/media (internal sd)

alright i learned now i needed to fast boot flash a boot.img im trying that, i flashed that so far, trying to sideload the other file. damn things drivers always crashing and causing me problems. does anybody else have this many problems with these drivers?
Edit. Finily got it booted with a ROM. Got viper without sense its pretty nice a and much lighter without sense probably so I think its a fair compromise for not having a cm based ROM for at&t version. Gf not as happy with it but at least now I won't have to hear her ***** as much about a glichy phone. I hope

Can't Boot into TWRP

Hello all,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I've got a AT&T M8. Last week I rooted it and converted it to a GPE M8. I am brand new to rooting, but found some videos on YouTube (Sakitech's videos). Everything worked perfectly, and in about 1.5 hours I had a GPE M8. The problem is that I cannot boot into TWRP in order to back-up the phone. When I try to boot into TWRP, I get this picture:

The phone then boots normally after a couple of minutes.
Any ideas of how I can get into TWRP?
Thanks.

I do believe that is the stock recovery image or image that is displayed when you dont have a recovery installed. Either way you didn't flash the TWRP recovery properly. Sorry, try again. Use the toolkit.
What I did with my M7 was download twrp on my PC and the transfer it to my ABD I had made with my various drivers and such. From there I put my phone into bootloader mode and then pressed the power button to get into fastboot. Plug in the data cable and then it will say fastbootusb. Then go to your folder on the PC and open up a command prompt window. CTL and right click of the mouse. Then I typed in "fastboot flash recover recovery.img". Make sure that you have renamed the twrp.img file to " recovery.img". That should get you into twrp recovery the next time you try. I hope I got that right for you.

Thanks for the responses.
I'm showing my newbie stripes here, but how do I flash the TWRP recovery again? Do I need to do anything special, or just go back to that particular step in the video that I used? Will it wipe my phone?
Also, quicksilver53, I apologize, but your post went way over my head. I'd need step by step directions for that.
Well, I installed TWRP again, and it seems to work now. I am currently making a backup. I discovered that installing TWRP does not wipe my phone. Phew ... didn't want to have to reinstall everything all.
Thanks for the responses.
Sorry for that. I'm happy you got it sorted out.

A9s Freeze when attempting a custom recovery.

Hello,
I recently tried to root my HTC One A9s and all was successful up until I tried the custom recovery (TWRP) when I enter bootloader and attempt to boot to recovery mode my phone freezes and displays the text "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action"
Bootloader unlocked, imaged and cache cleared and have I just have this problem, first time running into this i let the battery die and attempted to yet again enter recovery mode only this time showing "Software status: Modified" not "Official" and I also have some "<Orange State>" if that's anything to worry about?
Thank you in advance.

I don't have any experience with the A9s, but I've ran into this before with HTC OneX. Are you s-on or s-off? Also, are you sure the recovery you flashed was meant for this device? (I ran into this when I accidentally flashed HTC One recovery on HTC OneX.)
