Hello. I am currently running the stock T-mobile rom which I have rooted. I am currently stuck with s-on with an unlocked bootloader. I keep losing root I am assuming because the kernal I'm using is write protected? Is there a stock rooted rom that has the kernal set to R\W with no other changes, and can I even flash it with the bootloader set to s-on? Thanks.
this app will enable system r/w https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.timos.htconerw
Thanks so much, I will give it a try!

I flashed the leaked ICS and am presently on a ROM based on RUU_3.11.605.22. I have Amon Ra recovery.
I would like to get to a condition where I am running Ginger Bread and the phone is as close as possible to a stock 2.01.605.11, is not rooted, (or does not appear to be rooted) and has the stock recovery. I also want to end up "RELOCKED" and not showing the word "TAMPERED".
I understand that I cannot flash the older 2.01.605.11 RUU. But would you be so kind as to explain the senescence of events that I would have to go through to reach the "quasi-stock" state?
I have read several threads, but they all seem to describe how to get "back to stock" from an ICS ROM that pre-dates the latest RUU leak.
first install stock rooted gb rom and kernel then install stock recovery then relock.
to get and install the stock rooted gb rom and kernel, go here
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=100
kernel is included in the rom so no need to worry, just do what the installation says..
to get stock recovery go here
http://db.tt/tw5m33ZG
then fastboot oem lock through adb

The CleanRom you linked, says that it has all the Verizon Bloat removed. I was looking for something WITH all the bloat and as close to stock as possible. Thanks for the link on the stock recovery tho.
Try here - http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=11
If you did the RUU leak install and you update your hboot, etc, you'll need the SD patch that Scott put out also.
Just wait for S=Off to come out soon it will allow you to go back to stock with out the lock to be tampered with Plus is was safer then doing this even thow HTC Rezound can't be brick is still better to wait for s=off
Thank you! Do I need to flash only the WWE-vigor or that *and* the boot image? Also, when do I flash the GB fix? Right after the first flash? or is a reboot required in between?

Why can't it be bricked, I'm pretty sure I could brick one right now pulling the battery while flashing the new radio

boot image is the kernel so yes, you need to flash the rom and the boot image.
once installed you may install the fix right away, but i would suggest one boot.
download this one. it's rooted, but has all the bloats.
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=76
also download this as well this the boot image in the rom is wrong and this is the right one.
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=77
unzip the rom then change the boot image with the bottom one then re-zip then flash..
2 Questions:
1) by doing this, is it going back to the original radio?
2) will this be going back to the state even before the GB OTA update?
Thanks in advance.

OK. So far, so good. I'm back on the GB ROM (VIGOR - WWE 2.01.605.11 - THANKS SCOTT!) I plan on re-locking the phone and re-installing a stock recovery. Which order should I do two things in? Also, how do I delete the superuser app? It does not appear to be delete-able from the applications menu. Thank you.
When you are on rooted Rom you will have superuser are you trying to make a claim or something ?

You can use es file explore with root and go into your system files to delete it but I don't see why you would want to.

I've followed all of everyone's steps above which are great... but now after relocking my bootloader, I can no longer boot back into a rom. It just constantly reboots back into the HBoot screen.
Can anyone help please??
I rooted my phone using the zedomax method on htcevohacks (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671577)
The SW Version is: 1.22.651.3 71ORD
I now have an HTC update showing up (171.81MB) that does not have a cancel button. I was wondering what I need to do to apply it?
The phone is S-ON with HBOOT-1.15.0000
You need a stock Rom and stock recovery, relock bootloader and then you can accept ota

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm very new to this and have a few more follow on questions.
Will relocking return me to stock rom and stock recovery? How do I do it, via the HTCdev unlock bootloader method?
Once I've done that, accepted the OTA, will I be able to root again using the same method?
Also if I do a back up using titanium before the relock I should be able to get the phone back to the same state after, correct?
You need to flash the stock Rom and recovery before you relock. Relocking the phone will not give you a stock phone. You can use the ruu, relock the bootloader before running ruu

I recently installed Mean Horsey Face ROM, but realized I have really old radios that I've never updated. What's the easiest way to update my radios via this ROM? I know I can flash them from hboot if I were S-OFF, but how can I do it from S-ON?
Thanks!
Old radios? Please post the version information from software info in about phone.

If you want the global firmware, follow this - http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
It will wipe out your rom, recovery, etc so back up your phone first. Once you're done you can re-unlock your bootloader, flash your custom recovery and restore your rom/re-flash your boot.img.
Will installing this RUU install the default rezound ROM and leave my phone fully functional? I will unlock bootloader / custom recovery and all re-flash my own rom at some point, but I want to see how long this will all take. Thanks.

It returns the phone to out of the box stock basically but will update all the firmware to the latest. You have to go through the whole unlock/root/recovery process again.
As long as you saved your unlock token from before, it's a piece of cake to re-do it all..
Can I install an unrooted htc one stock ROM and still receive updates?
Probably not right?
And if I install the unrooted stock ROM, will I be able to receive the T-Mobile updates again?
Thank you
Chris

No you need a relocked bootloader
For one... the only way to get unrooted is to relock bootloader and get stock recovery...flash the shipped Rom
By flashing a Rom means your flashing something that evidentilly is pre rooted cause it takes root to flash a Rom
The only way to go stock no root is to either full unroot inside the Superuser settings or relock bootloader and ruu back to the stock shipped Rom.
If you unroot via superuser settings you will loose root permission and in a sense you'll be unroooted because everything will be denied root access but you will always Still have custom recovery until you do something about that as well.

Please let me know if you find out. I was wondering the same thing!
Let me try to help you guys.
What you guys need to do is to flash the original RUU for 1.27.531.11 from PC. Once you do that, you will be able to update OTA.
If you have unlocked bootloader and s-off, it will still carry over to the back to stock as well as OTA.
If you dont like it, just flash the older hboot and then recovery and another ROM.
I did it and works perfectly fine. Also no Root allow for Back to stock or OTA, you can do that later but not when trying to get update.
No custom recoveries, radio, boot, etc. Has to be stock ROM.
Ah, also please have sure the MID / CID is right before flashing to stock.

Unfortunately that only works on a Microsoft Windows computer. It won't work for Linux or Mac.
Are there any option for Linux/Mac users?

This is what I did. I was on a custom ROM, but -off, flashed 1.27 RUU, set basic settings up, then downloaded 4.3 update, still unlocked and -off. Painless.

The 1.27 RUU is stock ROM, bootloader, and recovery?
After upgrading did you re-flash a custom recovery and re-root?

Not yet. Gonna play with stock for awhile. I kind of like odexed and dont have a burning need to root. As for the "junk" in stock roms, there really isnt much, and what there is you can disable so not a big deal.

OK so just to clarify. I am currently on 1.27.531.11 rooted with a Unlocked S-off bootloader and TWRP recovery. All I need to do is, leave the bootloader unlocked and run the 1.27.531.11 RUU file. Once that is completed I can take the OTA to 4.3. Once this is complete will I still be S-Off and unlocked or S-off Locked? Then if I want to root (asuming bootloader is still unlocked) I would just need to flash the TWRP recovery and then flash SU, and I should then be updated to 4.3 rooted with a unlocked S-OFF bootloader. Is all of that correct? If not, please correct me before I attempt this. Thanks for any help.
