From what I have read there isn't one mate. Im new here so I could be wrong.
I9100/I9300
There are no samsung based custom kernels above 4.1.2 because source code hasn't been released above 4.1.2 (nor has a rom been)

Hi,
I was wondering is there an insecure kernel for the jelly bean for the firmware I9300XXDLI5 (leaked version)
I know where it is! Six letters, starts with S and ends with earch.

Only need source for the more in-depth tweaks and changes.

There are no custom kernels but there are insecure kernels.. Download any JB based custom rom..
You have been zooo==>ted
Just use CF-Root and ODIN. You don't need an insecure kernel anymore, it's different from the S II days.

I have a rooted galaxy s2 with an xwlp7 kernel. The jelly bean rom i saw was 4.1.2 XXLSJ. Will this work with my kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
The kernel you currently have has no relation to a different ROM which has its own kernel.
Or to directly answer your odd question, no, your current non-JB kernel certainly will not work with a JB ROM.
But if you mean you want to install the JB-leak (or didn't you mean that?): that is possible. Your current kernel will be replaced.

Yes I meant the leaked version. Was just wondering if it can be done before attempting.

Yes that is possible. You can flash the official one, or one from a developer (I personally would recommend Neatrom). Good luck.

I will take a look. Thank you for clearing my doubts

Yes you can only on jb roms
PS:this goes to Q&A forums

Dual boot cm9? Ics? Are you sure thats possible? Don't both roms need to be JB?
Why would you want to dual boot cm9? 10.1 is the latest
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Both roms need to be jellybean at least, so you will have to use at least cm10...

Doesn't it depend on the version of the Siyah Kernel? Maybe I was wrong
Sent from my awesomely customized Galaxy S3
ICS was never supported for dual booting. So no, you cannot.
Questions go in the Q&A section
I currently have a s3 gt i9300 on XXEMC2 firmware. I have the odd random reboot once in a while. Im rooted and jist noticed XXEMD3 os available. Is it woth while upgrading?

It's always worth updating, yes. Newer releases have newer fixes.
Also how did you miss this sticky thread?

Will the fw be fine to flash as when I started the download it said it was for turkey. Lol
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yes you can flash for any country so long as the model is correct. MD3 isn't even the latest anymore. ME2 is (which you can download for Netherlands or Norway).
You'll lose root when you flash Via Odin.
Any particular reason you won't go for something like Wanam Lite ROM, flash through recovery?
Still a sort of noobie...not really had the guts to flash any rom yet
Rooted but on stock XXEMC2

As a rule of thumb,
"Galaxy SIII Android Development" contains:
Samsung TouchWiz based custom ROMs
Unofficial CM, AOKP builds
"Galaxy SIII original Android Development" contains:
Samsung Kernels
Official CM, AOKP (AOSP) builds
AOSP Kernels
Hi
I am using omega 4.2.2 latest built. The phone gets stuck/hanged whenever I connect mobile data. Sometimes it works fine but stucks when I use twitter or Facebook app.
Why is that so?
And can I downgrade to omega 4.1.2 ?

Try a different baseband
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Don't know much about the basebands. I think every rom has a different baseband. So you mean try some other rom ? Stock or custom ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Alright did some research and yes I got the idea. Its baseband problem. I am gona try XXEMC6.
But can I downdowngrade from jb 4.2.2 to jb 4.1.2 after a full wipe?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Why are you downgrading the rom? I said try another baseband. Not try another rom.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Because I cannot find any other than XXUFME7 baseband for jb 4.2.2
I thought it came with only one baseband.
I checked wanamlite and omega. They both come up with XXUFME7.
Can you recommend some roms ?

My point is you can use ANY baseband. It is not tied or related to the ROM in any way. There's hundreds of basebands available to flash in the general forum.
Now you are making sense. So I had to install the rom first or the baseband first then any rom?
Baseband and a kernel is the same thing ?

Please follow the link in my signature to general > sticky roll-up thread. Read "Understanding the basics before rooting". I put a lot of effort into answering all your questions in advance there. Please read it, you'll find it very informative.
Changed my kernal using omega v47
No freezes anymore. The 4.2.2 kernal is so unstable.
