Hi XDA PPL,
So my S3 I9300 has this notification LED issue,
it is a dull BLUE color
The notification LED stays ON forever,
I Data Reset it, no change,
Its never Rooted, Updated to latest firmware.
The weirdest thing is that it Stays ON even after the phones turned off,
Please check the Video for Reference.
I have even checked the Samsung Service MENU All Colors are working.
U can also check the pics for details.

I cant get it replaced in warranty so looking for other solutions.
Flash firmware with odin and see if that cleans up the problem mate.

Yes, I was thinking on it.. Do you have Yahoo Mail app installed? Or have you installed any apps to control your LED? Lightflow perhaps?

I request You to please check the Video , I have mentioned everything in Detail.
P.S. Its not Rooted , So LightFlow wont Work.
And My phone is Factory Data Reset So no third Party Apps.
had given to Official Samsung Service Center ,
They changed the Hardware LED Sensor but no success.
the phone still had the issue.
They Updated to latest update.

the same issue, except that my blue led notification was off and act normal when phone on, but remain lite when phone off, just disappear by itself.
What i done with no success.
1. reset, erase, going back to stock, wipe completely etc, flash with odin, flash with kies, the issue remain
2.changed batt, changed charger, changed usb cable, issue remain.
3. goes to warranty, the same hardware changed, the issue remain.
4. "damaged" on purpose the efs folder, with imei 0049 the issue remain.
i just give up, and thinking seriously to disable the led with a hammer for good. The issue disappear.The only thing that updated in this period was something about Samsung account.
Hope that you will treat your phone with a hammer will resolve for you the blue led issue (just kidding)

if I turn off everything, including wifi and background data is still there :S
I had that for few days, and then Sync icon gone away.

the sync however seems to work, its just the annoying icon :S
I hope it goes away some day.

Yes, I did.
I have it for few days now, and didn't noticed that Sync icon is showing.
i dont know what it could be, maybe the skype or the facebook sync :S
I had it when i updated to 2.1, check the power control widget and turn it off, or change the sync settings to manually / never

Did you turned off the all sync apps?
yes I did, all is off, even WiFi, background app and the icon is still there.
Im starting to wonder that may be some restored data from the last ROM that corrupted the new one

Hi guys,
I am really suffering from this icon specially when I switch the wifi on, but it gone when restarting the phone with wifi off. No doubt it kills the battery as it is obviously noticed, the battery last much more without the icon.
My phone is 2.1 stuck (rooted), any idea to remove it will be much appreciated.

I have had this issue since custom roms have come to the evo 3D, and it has happened on my original and replacement Evo3D.
When I go to turn down my phone all the way, it doesnt work. It beeps throughout the whole range of volume from max to off to vibrate. Also, the volume indicator will not go below the first section. The only way I can truly put my phone on vibrate or silent is to go into settings and sound and set it to it manually. Here are some screen shots.

Anyone else experiencing this, or know whats causing this? I have tried to a search, but didnt come up with anything. Its annoying and definitely not great when I go to silence my phone and it doesnt actually happen. Is it a 2.3.4 issue? Works for me..maybe its dsp..I always delete it before flashing.

Maybe it's a custom icon or something you are using?
How about flashing to a stock rooted rom and see if you have the same problem.
Works here too. I would have definitely noticed something like that.

Do you wipe before each flash? Wiping and then flashing should fix the problem. If it's still there, try wiping, flashing the superwipe, wiping again, flashing your ROM, and then trying. It should be fixed after that.
same thing happened to me on Eternity but a wipe fixed it, if ur doing it manually make sure to wipe system too.

What do you think:-
1. Does it have dedicated led indicator???
2. What are the colors or does it have only white light???
3. Does it mean it only has BLN support? (fading notification lights)

1.yes it has
2.multi colored LED, you can change the colors via that settigns menu you mentioned.
3.in sgs2 BLN is used with touch button lights, so not sure about this part.
anyway sgs3 will be my first mobile with LED notification
Led notification, is for me, one of the best features of the S3. I know, it's something simple, but I think it's great to have it on the S3. It's very helpful...

Will it support Lightflow so you can choose which colour for which notification - this is a great feature on my Galaxy Nexus as you can tell whether you have a missed call, email, SMS etc without picking up the phone.
This would make the new smart vibrate function on SIII redundant!

I didn't know that many phone did not have a LED notification. Actually my past couple phones have had them and were very helpful. When I heard this might not I was confused as its a top of the line phone. Different colors for different people and programs = no more randomly turning on your phone.

You've reached my Xperia S and I notice that there are 3 LEDs lighting the way it should. Only two LEDs light up, as shown below. Should I ask for is an exchange or software problem?

That looks blue so it looks like it has been modded, did you buy it used?
I dont think that it's software problem, since even on the main screen all 3 should light up, try rebooting the phone maybe really some soft issue, if not take it to the service center.

if it's still in warranty, i guess u should exchange it.
i havent found any (software) mod that turn off the led like that, only the brightness level.

No. I using original factory firmware!
I bought through the internet and the exchange procedure is very annoying!

I also have this problem and think it could be to do with the proximity sensor, the speaker button touches your face before the screen turns off. I have been careful to hover the phone next to my ear for a second or two before placing it on my ear to make sure the screen turns off and haven't had a problem since. Try that it may help

Mine comes on before putting the phone up to my ear.
Chrome is to blame!
It's observed that the latest Chrome caused this strange issue. As long as you disable Chrome (or uninstall the latest update) the problem seems gone. I do also noticed that during phone call with BT headset, if I open Chrome the phone will also enable Speaker phone immediately.
Please test if this is the case for you. Several people in a Taiwanese forum confirmed this issue.

I am not sure if it's permission related (it should be...) and App OPS is kind of weak in this. Thus I suggest just try to uninstall or disable Chrome then check if this still happens. (you can disable Chrome via Titanium backup if the "disable" function is disabled in Setup-->Application)
