To anybody on T-Mobile who upgraded to .11 and got stuck on S-On, just figured out how to get around it. If you download the .8 ruu and downgrade to that, you can then go S-Off using revone and then upgrade your firmware, s-off will remain . Don't want to post links and get the thread locked, Google is your friend.

Go into your bootloader and see if it is HBoot 1.15.

1.12. Strange as she swears she ran it.
Off the top of my head I can't remember the root method, but it was an all in one that used the HTC unlock. Now the bootloader says tampered. Recovery says development edition. Any way to change these messages?

If she saw something update it was possibly prl/profile. It should ask to run the firmware update and not just do it. Lazypanda soff then regaw's bootloader customizer will let you write whatever you please, as well as remove the red text on the splash screen.

Like which one?, I am currently on 1.22.651.3 and can't root with that.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
You can root with 1.22 (h-boot 1.15) with HTC unlock. I'd suggest using regawmod's automated rooter.
If you have hboot 1.15 you HAVE to use the 1.22 RUU. Using a previous RUU will fail.
which hboot version do you have?
I'm on h boot 1.15

So without the RUU, how do I reform it to stock so I can take it in and don't get refused a replacement?
Thanks IE.

Why can't you RUU? If you can't I guess you can use a stock backup and then flash the stock recovery when your done

Update Ur phone then do the moonshine
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app
Look for facepalm
You could use Facepalm S-off, but what I would do in that situation is accept the OTA to Build # 2.06 and use Moonshine S-off. I don't know about Facepalm, but with Moonshine, it S-offs, unlocks bootloader, and roots so that all you have to do is install a custom recovery.
In shorter words, Update your phone and use Moonshine.
And P.S. This belongs in Q&A, not Development. You will most likely get more help there.

ok what the heck 4thed
I used face palm myself but from what it looks like moonshine is easier, so if your new then maybe think about it that way. But if you know your way around ADB, and whatnot then I recommend face palm like everyone above.

Is there a way to accomplish this? One I've been searching for a couple days now, but no joy. Stupid me updated to the patched hboot. Any help is appreciated.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you're updated you could just use the ruu right? Theres also a way to downgrade and s-off in RootzWiki if you want to try that. The .11 ruu would put you back to pure stock but youd need to lock bootloader and make sure you backup your sdcard (if you want)
I just got off the phone with HTC, and the guy said the ruu might not work with the bootloader that I have(the one with three androids on skateboards.) So, I think my plan is to try and get the stock broader back, re-lock, and try the ruu.

Thanks, btw. 10char

The stock hboot has 3 skateboarding androids, as long as its tmobile htc one and the hboot is 1.44. RUU should always work unless youve changed the cid or mid, or flashed a different bootloader. And no problem

Oh my bad man I didnt read the hboot was patched. Is it 1.54?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4
It's 1.44. I don't remember flashing a different bootloader specifically, but I went a little flash crazy the other night. I messed up somewhere early on,and really thought I bricked it.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Alright man, so what all are you running? 1.44 bootloader with .11 Tmobile software? You should still be able to run ruu as the tmobile ruu is the same updated version. And no matter what you should be able to run ruu. Do you still need help?

No, that about covers it. Thank you.
