how to upgrade 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 Custom Roms - Motorola Droid RAZR

Can someone tell how to upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 custom roms for XT910?
I forgot the steps to upgrade. Currently I can use BP tools only to boot up and it shows CustomerID error (I lost backup file)
Current System version is...
982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU
Webtop Version : wt-3.0.3
Build Number : 9.8.20-124_SPUEM-14
Already rooted.
Thanks a lot.

To install 4.2.2 version you need to use Boot Menu Manager or Safestrap.

The "only way" to hard brick is to do the ota update THEN use rsd to flash an earlier software version. so if you dont OTA you wont hard brick. So unlock your bootloader, install a custom recovery, then flash to your hearts content
here is a very helpful guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600

[Q] Update Asia XT910 from 4.0.4 to Vodafone.EU 4.1.2

Hello Everyone,
I'm Noob with RAZR stuff...
i was going through this thread from HSD_Pilot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2188155)
I currently have stock ICS 4.0.4 on AsiaRetail version.
I have no root or anything.
Can i directly use RSD to flash the 4.0.4 Vodafone.EU on my device and update to 4.1.2 Vodafone.EU by following the guide ?
I dont need root, so is it mandatory to root or not ?
If yes, do i have to root 4.0.4 Vodafone.EU and then update ? or Root AsiaRetail 4.0.4 then flash Vodafone.EU 4.0.4 and the upgrade to 4.1.2 with the guide and keep root ?
no Root is Ok to flash from RSD Lite. but for now, i suggest you to take the alternative BMM path (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2188937) , because the ROM is a leak and not officially released yet. so better for you to try things out and go back later. with the pure OTA update, your CDT wil be updated and so you can't go back to ICS if any issue appears. with BMM however, the exact content is there minus the CDT update script so it is easier to flash back to ICS.

[Q] Kernel locked?

Hello,
I am quite new to the forum although I have some experience in modding my mobile, so I hope I am posting in the right section.
I summerize here my problem.
I had ICS on my XT910, then I installed BMM on my XT910 and a ROM named "Muscle China" that brought along a JB China kernel (which allows flawless phone call recording), a new radio and very interesting features with Andoird 4.1.2 version.
While updating an installation on Slot2 I deleted the "system" partition on Slot1 by mistake.
I was in a hurry and I needed to have my phone functioning ASAP. So I used a method to "unbrick" the RAZR that worked but installed the stock 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU.
Now I learnt that there is no way back, i.e. that this JB EU is locked and does not allow you to install other kernels.
In fact when I tried to reinstall the JB China kernel and I enter in AP Fastboot, I connect the RAZR to the PC and I input:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
what I get is:
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failure
FAILED (remote
finished. total time: 0.613s
My system info are:
System version: 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU
Base band: U_04.10.00R
Webtop version: wt-3.0.0
Kernel: 3.0.8-g7198280 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 28 01:30:46 CST 2013
APFlex: GAS_EMEA_USASPDRJBRTGB_P011 GAS_EMEA_USASPDRJBRTGB_A012
Build: 9.8.2O-124_SPUEM-14
Can someone advise me something to do or give a help?
Thanks!
You may want to do a system wipe and flash fresh.
RAZR Maxx running Premium
With that unbrick method, you have flashed EMEA 4.1.2 OTA which flashes cdt.bin secure version 7. Once the cdt.bin is upgraded you will not be able to flash partitions signed with lower secure version. In your case, china system, boot, recovery have version 5 but your device is flashed to version 7. There is no known way to bypass it. You are stuck with EMEA 4.1.2 custom roms or CM variants, sorry.
an hyperlink to Muscle China rom would be nice.
hello
sorry for the belated reply to your request:
the hyperlink would be to an Italian forum where a great Italian guy developed a JB China based (4.1.2) version.
It is in Italian only, but I can try to put you in touch

[Q] Is there a way to unlock bootloader and kernel on XT910?

Hello.
To cut a long story short: I used to have my RAZR XT910 (with deleted and lost CID) running on a Chinese kernel and a modified Chinese ROM that was working like a charm. Unfortunately I messed things up with BMM (my fault!) and to un-brick it fastly I used a method that fixed the problem but that got me on
ROM: 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU
Kernel: 3.0.8-g7198280 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
As explained it appears that:
"With that unbrick method, you have flashed EMEA 4.1.2 OTA which flashes cdt.bin secure version 7. Once the cdt.bin is upgraded you will not be able to flash partitions signed with lower secure version. Isn't there any "hard-core" method to work around this? No leak or whatever?
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Flashing CM 10.1 on Verizon Note 2

Hey guys. I've been on the "Beans" rom forever (Build 21) and starting to have some issues so wanna try flashing a new rom. I have the Verizon Note 2 rooted with unlocked bootloader (Never took the OTA that locked it) so I have Android 4.1.2 at the moment with VRAMC3 Baseband version. What do I need to do if anything before flashing CM 10.1? Do I need to upgrade firmware or anything? I heard you can brick if you flash a newer rom without upgrading your firmware first? I believe CM10.1 is Android 4.2 so I'd be going from 4.1.2 to 4.2 so I dunno. I'm also using an older version of TWRP as my recovery. Should I download the latest TWRP and flash that first? It's been a while since I did any fancy stuff with my phone just wanna make sure I don't mess it up. Thanks in advance everybody
