Hi Guys,
I mistakenly formatted the SYS directory when installing a custom rom, so I had to use ODIN to flash back to stock so it write the necessary partitions.
Ever since then when the phone goes into landscape, or theres add's built into apps, the screen starts flickering or the resolution goes crazy.
Is this a known issue ?
Cheers
Paul
No its not a known issue. How did you format /sys? Where is this an option?

Hello
I have a big problem. Every time i start my sgs2 new, some applications are deleted and some setups also gone. I have Checkrom hd v6 and Android 2.3.6. I tried siyah and speedmod kernel, but nothing has changed. I hope some of you can help me. I searched but I couldn't find some threads where my problem was mentioned.

Hi,
I bought my galaxy S3 in Germany, of course it came with some default German apps pre-installed. my problem is that when i install a new custom ROM these apps are installed automatically after 1st boot.
It's getting quite annoying uninstalling them all the time since i flash new ROM every week or so.
did anyone encounter such problem? Could it be CSC related?
Tnx

Hi,
After downgrading from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2, can't see sdcard in recovery, only seeing folder 0 that's in sdcard folder (which I can see in es explorer).
Any solution to that?
Using twrp 2.6.0.0

inside your /0 folder you should see the sd content.
that's because of the multi-user support at 4.2

After downgrading, it seems that the 0 folder is obsolete, and not the same as sdcard folder.

Which recovery?
Edit, sorry you said.
Is there not a toggle option in recovery to toggle sdcard location like philz has?

Have you tried at the computer alone or from file explorer/recovery explorer ?

Not that I've seen one, looked for it.
I'll give a try to philz.

It's the same in both. also, can't delete the 0 folder because of the Android folder inside it (tried to move it).

hmmm
Well I recall I once had this problem in the early days of 4.2 when I just checked an unstable version and reverted to 4.1.
Again, as far as I remember the solution was to update the recovery, but then again, I'm using CWM and you said you're using TWRP.
Since you said your TWRP v is the last one(2.6.0.0) I'd wait for someone else who encountered this issue.
cheers

Well, philz did the trick.
Will try to delete the 0 folder somehow... Maybe a superwipe.

Yeah so Philz toggles /sdcard mounting to /data/media/0 and /data/media with the former now the default but the option to toggle to the latter.
CWM is still only using /data/media
My assumption now is TWRP is only using /data/media/0
That is why i fallback-ed to PhilZ Touch version 500.5 (CWM 6.0.3.1 based) for I9300 4.1.2, lest unable to read the old internal SDCard content even after toggling data/media/(0) in the higher version of the recovery.
Hi
Should AOKP or CM roms have the preload partition. I am using rootbox and i have a preload partition on 500mb which is not being used. The folders are empty also i cannot delete them. I think it is wasting space or am i wrong. i seem to be running out of space now and then. Should the partition be there. If so why is it empty and not being used and occupying 500mb..If it is not needed how can i delete it.
Thanks
Also using rootbox, I have the preload folder but there's nothing in it. Did you come onto rootbox from the stock (or stock based) ROM? If you did, I'm assuming you didn't wipe the preload folder?
There may be a better way to do this, if anyone has one please shout out. Otherwise:
Flash a stock ROM (using mobile Odin pro you can root it on the fly).
Flash philz kernel. From philz recovery, wipe data, dalvik cache, cache, and format /preload and /system. Immediately after doing that, flash rootbox again.

what is the size of your preload folder/partition .. i use partition manager and it tell me its 500mb .. and its not getting used..if i uses philz kernel wont it create the preload partition again ??
Mine says 0bytes. Yes philz/stock will create the preload folder again, but will allow you to wipe it before the flash. I don't know how to wipe it from rootbox.

see post above .. thx
Mine looks the same in the same app, no need for me to post mine. I just interpreted it that it was saying that I wasn't using the space, as it's only 8 MB. I didn't see it as a problem
