Happy to say about my DX battery life - HTC Desire X

With Power saver enabled option and Du battery saver app and frequent data connection (not continuous data connection) my Desire X (unrooted) battery life is very good.

You're one hell of an optimist.... I like you. Among all the blabber and moaning in threads "WHEN will Cm come", "Y U NO cook CM10.2.7678" etc etc, you see the brighter side of things.
On-Topic, whats you set up?

I don't think he has a custom rom/kernel since he is still unrooted... Not sure about the tweaks though. Great performance indeed

Finally someone who is also on stock like me and has great battery life mine gives me a bout a day usage without power saver enabled or any battery saving app but 2 days is impressive

my desire x is unlocked. but not rooted. it has stock jb. no extra features above these. only thing I am doing is I use data connection when ever I need, but not always. but roughly data connection will be in active position above 2 hours in a day. my battery life is 2 days for 3g network and 2 and halfdays for 2g network. my dx has 90 insalled apps.

Lol to be sincere my desire x won't last even 4 hours with WiFi and little texting with music, 2 hours continuous gaming and from 100% to 20% and that's what my battey life is all about. With average usage and random use of WiFi I get 6 hours..and AFAIK its really depressing

Yeah, mine too. But sometimes some background job is running (not identified yet) and my DX gets really hot inside my pocket. When I kill all open apps via Task Manager and return back to Home Screen, it returns to normal state.

My battery life increased severely going from mySENSEdxRC3 to myONEdxRC2. Before, it could hardly manage a day. Now, it's closer to two days (and this is with two hours of MP3, two ours GPS [endomondo]). Also, Wifi seems a lot snappier in myONE that mySENSE.
Just my 0.02€.

Yeah, will try something different than mysensedx+, maybe the new fulmix ROM. I'll report back if battery life is better then...

Omg. I reflashed a rom this is showing wrong now!

This is why
All I used was camera. For about an hour and music for about 2-3 hours and played dead trigger for 20 min approximately
And after this I get this kind of battery life
Andyou expect me to be happy about it?
P.S. I've been on airplane mode all the time and barely used WiFi for about half an hour.
That's it.

That's probably a wakelock or bad battery issue, try to cablirate your battery or search for the wakelock

Battery uses WAAAAAAAAAAY to much?

How the heck is it possible that while screen-off, my battery usage is between -401 and -495 mA? Is this normal? GSM version btw.

I know this sounds stupid, but have you installed any apps? HTC has said most battery drain issues are due to "bad" apps. Maybe do a nandroid, wipe data, and perform the same test from a stock clean ROM?

Might be an obvious question but do you have a Live Wallpaper enabled?
check your battery use in the settings. That'll help narrow what the cause is. Also keep an eye on your signal strength. Switching between roaming an not roaming takes a toll on the battery. Weaker signals also mean the phone is working harder to keep the signal. You can also go to Applications -> running services to see if anything instslled is keeping the phone awake.
Can you guys post some currentwidget readings of yourself?

Same exact problem here. My HD2 would use anywhere from 2-6 ma on idle with the screen off. This was running a non-sense ROM of course (CM7 or Vanilla 2.3).
My 3VO is still stock and it idles at anywhere from 40 to 300+ ma. It makes no sense. My HD2 got far better battery life with a much smaller battery.
I think once we get rid of stupid ass sense and get a clean AOSP/CM7 build, things will be much nicer.

Practically, how much is your battery life dropping? Example: 100% to 60% in 2 hours? And what was the phone used for in that duration.
For example, If I charge my CDMA EVO 3D to 100% at 9pm and unplug it and leave it idle overnight, it goes from 100% to 98% by 7am. So, on idle, it drops 2% in 10 hours.

Only reaching 13h on my battery. Why?

So i bought me the SIII about two weeks ago and was excited to use the 2200mah battery. The first day i hit about 18 hours.
Since then i have:
Rooted
Installed CWM
and flashed this Kernel:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1741684
Could running this ROM be the reason why i am having such horrible battery life?
Screenshot:

I'm also aware of the Cell Standby issue which gives the wrong reading on the battery life status screen.
:silly:
Possibly. I have Stock unrooted for now as i don't have any reason to root and flash other ROMs yet. I consistently get 22 hours wih about the same screen On time you have. I have Auto Brightness, GPS On all the time, Sync On all the time and widgets running on every page.

With the same amount of usage im getting half of that with the s3. Much less then half if i actually do something with my s3. No widgets- no mobile data turned on- no syncing-no gps. Only wifi is turned on while Im home. 24 hours without a charge seems to be the cap for these phones. and thats with very minimal usage.

Batteryife on MeanROM

I need some assistance, I just flashed MeanROM 5.7 this morning and seem to be experiencing the same issue, a draining battery. It's like 8:30am and I unplugged about 6:30am. I'm currently at 77% with very light usage. I've sent maybe 20 text messages and spent maybe 10 minutes in various apps. My on screen time is currently 29 minutes. I have email set to sync every 4 hours, weather syncs every three hours, I created the MeanRom.opt file and set parameters for battery. Is there anything I can do to increase my battery life as I hear about others getting at least a full day out of their battery.

I get 30+ hours with almost 4 hours of screen on try turning off auto sync and whatever else is not neccesary such as GPS and IMHO changing to battery I tried it once and got horrible battery life you can also check Better Battery Stats and see if some rouge programs are running I know GN is a big battery killer also I always heard having wifi on as much as possible was supposed to save battery but.. I had mine on and it kicked the crap out of my battery I saw in BBS that wifi had almost 6000 wakelocks so I turned it off until I needed it then back off when done no more battery problems.
It's not uncommon to have mediocre battery life immediately after flashing a ROM...give it a day or two to settle and it should improve. That's typically been the case for me.

Yeah, that would help...wifi uses less battery than 3g too, so use that whenever you can. Just make sure the "Best WiFi Performance" option is disabled in wifi settings (it drains battery pretty aggressively).
You really shouldn't have to disable your data connection to get decent battery life though. Have you let the battery run all the way down? How many hours do you get on a full charge? Do you have the same problem with other roms?

Battery Drain HTC One

So I just got my HTC one on Sunday night. The first thing I did is let the battery charge up and then drained it to less than 3% and recharged. Ive been getting horrible battery usage since Sunday and am starting to worry that I might have a hw issue. For example, today I woke up at 5:30 and unplugged my phone. Its now 10:15 and I am at less than 30% with less than 30min of screen time (in battery save mode). Should I just go back and replace with my 30 day warranty? Or should I try to calibrate it? I have yet to root it because I just got it, so no custom kernels or roms that might be draining it. The idle and HTC Sense seem to be the programs draining it the worst based on the stock battery usage report.

I don't know the exact mechanics of it but battery life almost always improves after using it for a little while, that's the way phones work
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Wow, that's a lot. You may want to check apps running in the background. The culprit on mine is the Kernel and there's nothing I can do about it.
I'm actually getting pretty much the same battery life. Prior to the update my average was 13 hrs. 4 hrs screen time. All on stock.

I've never heard of the whole settling of the battery with my previous phones. Usually just the whole make sure to drain it all the way the first time and get a full charge, then it would be good. That being said, I could very well be wrong and you may be right, but if it is a hardware issue I would like to return before its too late

I see how this could make sense for a device that is fresh from the factory (no cycles on it)
I'm referring to when someone has had a device for months and flashes a new ROM. people use the "let it settle" justification for when new roms are flashed. I'm just trying to understand what exactly happens during this "settling" period improves battery life over time

i'm not 100% sure but my assumption would be that, new ROMs change your phone entirely. they assign different values to resources, it pretty much changes everything that your battery has grown custom to, so maybe the battery needs to settle in and get used to how resources are now being used.
i also notice reduce battery life. went back to 4.1.2.

As people have said, you have to let it go through a few cycles before it proforms stably. When I first got mine it was the same situation you describe, couldn't even make it through half a day without charging. Without changing anything (seriously, everything is still stock), that increased to regularly getting 40hrs per charge with about 2hrs screen on time. I could claim that the software is learning or that the hardware handling the battery is improving, but I don't know, I just know that this is a pretty universal phenomenon and it is real. And for me 4.3 had only made it better (not much though, but definitely not worse).
Just give it time, it's about to get good
Also, I can tell you from my tests earlier on that wifi was one of my biggest battery drains, so I just don't use it at all now. But you could just get in the habit of turning it off at certain times or get tasker to handle that). Also power saver is useful, I do notice it slow down but only in the text message app, everything else is still very smooth and fast. And yes, even now the Android system averages 80% of total drain for me. A large portion of that is wakelocks, and there's lots of excellent tutorials on xda about how to find and deal with some of them. Personally I've made my peace with the ones I encounter, so although people tell me losing 5-8%overnight to them is too much, I'm fine with that. Again, much better now than my initial use led me to believe.

I once watched a whole 30 minute show streaming on Hulu unplugged and percentage was still at 100. That didn't seem right to me. But I am getting really great battery life all the same. Rarely get below 50 percent on a regular day.
i enabled just every battery tweak for anyone that is wondering

i have an lg battery i just got but seriously the battery shouldnt be that bad. if you can use the screen above 50% brightness and not be able to last for a day i kinda think its a joke. roms and kernels better fix this!
You guys should try changing your Governor to OnDemand and put PowerSave_bias =1.
That's helped me quite a bit and my phone behaves the exact same way.

Well I totally agree with what you said earlier we need Roms and kernels.
I also saw some real Battery improvement after disabling CheckIn services for Google Play Services and Framework as well as disabling the Receivers for com.lge.ims then freezing it.
That thing was waking Mr phone an insane amount of time during the day.
It handles Calls Over WiFi . which I don't use.

Ahhh man I'm sorry to hear it's not working out for you. Maybe wait for when extended batteries come out?
What kind of screen time and use are you getting roughly??
I have Lux set at Max brightness of 70% and even during the day in the sun with glasses on I can see it great. Damn screen does suck the battery down good though I know.
After chasing down WakeLocks and uninstalling the bloat my G3 is great now. No not nearly as good as it could be if we had Roms etc.
And these things charge up hella fast too so that's another plus.

Also do you use BBS? If so how far apart are you Screen On and Awake times?
