[Q] Xperia U CM9, MMS not working - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, I'm new here, I have an issue with my Xperia U ST25i. I recently unlocked and rooted my phone and flashed CM9 with the Sliding XU 3.5 kernel. It's all running very smoothly, way better than the stock ROM, but I can't send or receive MMS. So far I tried renaming telephony.db and manually entering the APN and deleting all the others. I dunno what to do, any suggestions? Thanks in advance
EDIT: Small update, I managed to get MMS working by deactivating automatic download of MMS, turning off Wifi and turning on Data. However this is still slightly annoying. Why does it only work under this configuration?

Bump

Its a known FXP bug.It won't be fixed.Only way is to use the workaround you mentioned

Is this because the next android versions are being worked on (jb). Because those fxps are riddled with bugs.

Camera not working on NEO [ICS 4.0.4]

Hi,
I´ve just updated my NEO to ICS 4.0.4 and now the camera doesn´t work properly, everytime I try to make a photo I see everything in red and upside down! :silly: (both front and rear cams!) I flashed twice the phone see if that could solve the problem, but no improvement.
Any ideas?
which rom you are using?

Oficial ICS 4.1.b.0.431 from Sony, should I try the 4.1.b.0.587?
You have wrong drivers. If you see everything in red, than you probably have Neo v version

loop4444: I know I have some experience with this "feature"
As I've found this thread I don't want to create a new one for my similar question. I've got an MT15i lying on my table, which has ICS Build 4.1.A.0.562 (MT11i - Version) installed with stock kernel, rooted and CWM via x-Parts. I did that because I've read it should work and after that I've got the 40 additional megabytes the Neo V has, which seemed quite genius. I did not update to 4.1.B.0.587 because the owner (my father, who always reached the limit of 380 MB even with App2SD) isn't in need of always having the newest version installed and I wanted to save some additional work with installing additional kernels and stuff.
Besides the fact that I can't restore apps with Rom Toolbox Pro (haven't tried Titanium Backup yet), I face the mentioned Issue with the camera. I tried flashing these camera libs for the MT15i, but the problem persists: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738369
Is it possible, in example by transferring parts of an MT15i ROM, to fix that issue? What to I need to transfer? As long as I can't ensure a working app restore, I'm trying not to wipe everything and flash another ROM. Or is someone able to tell my why Rom Toolbox doesn't restore to be safely able to flash ROMs? Reinstalling everything by hand and loosing all settings feels somewhat tedious since I've learned to love Rom Toolbox for its restore on my GT-I9003.
Because I come from a Samsung Galaxy SL I apologize in advance for anything I've missed on my searches through these forums.
Really no one?

CyanogenMod 10 FXP145 for Xperia Active - problem report (Gallery and WiFi)

I know this report should rather be posted in the developer forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780326), but as I've just registered, I'm not allowed to post there, so I hope you all will excuse me.
I've been testing the latest CyanogenMod 10 version (FXP145) on my Xperia Active (ST17i), tried both the bundled and DDS kernel, but I've been encountering two bugs:
Gallery bug
Right after the ROM starts and I insert my PIN, I get a message: "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped". Everything then works as expected, no trouble with the gallery or anything else, just this (a bit annoing, but not deadly) message.
WiFi bug
I'm unable to connect to a WPA2-PSK protected network. An unsecured WiFi works well, but WPA2 gets into a loop, where it keeps trying to authenticate and aquite an IP. I tried to change my hostname, tried to change the kernel to DDS, nothing helped. It seems like the same bug that's troubling the stock ICS for Xperia Active, though how it got into the JB is a mystery. In all the custom ICS kernels I tested (with the fixed WLAN modules) it worked well, but the fix is not usable in the JB kernel.
In the DDS kernel thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956283) there seemed to be some talking about WiFi trouble since FXP144, but it puzzles me that no one else seemed to notice anyting (might be very isolated bug).
Just wanted to report my findings and see if I'm the only one having these trouble and if there's something to be done about it...
https://code.google.com/p/freexperia/issues/list
Thanks, gotta admit I know about this bug list, I was hoping to get some feedback on the matter before posting it as a bug (because here I know that I'm talking to people with similair phones, in the buglist, my phone and bug will be quite rare).
probably its just you, or everyone else haven't notice it yet. u should do clean install with cm default kernel and try to replicate the bug. if its still there then just do bug report with logcat included on the fxp's googlecode page. that should help fxp to fix the bug (if its a bug).
I have no problem with wpa2 psk I use it everyday with the kernel in the rom zip. May be u can give a try with mesa kernelv2.2 by an0nym0us Im currently using it with no wifi trouble. & if u want the gallery force close to be fixed u can go through it

Thanks for the tip for the first bug. As for the second one, I thought MESA kernel isn't compatible with CM10? I remember reading in an0nym0us's MESA thread, that CM10 isn't mature enough, so he's not using it and his kernel is not made to be used with it (maybe he'll correct me, if I'm wrong ).

So, I've been experimentating some more during the weekend and: I've tested the WiFI with the following: a clean installation of FXP145 (+its original kernel), FXP146 (and its original kernel) and finally with MESA v2.2 for JB + FXP146, tried to delete wlanfixed and reboot twice. The problem is always the same, WiFi generally works, but doesn't want to connect to my WPA2+AES protected router. There is no MAC filtering or anything like that enabled on the router. Just to be sure I'll try to find the ICS kernel + ROM that used to work and test it again, so I can see there is a working config.

Alright, after hours of flashing and booting, I need to correct my first statement and appologize for misleading all of you. After testing 4 ICS kernels with various ROMS (stock+stock ROM, Rage v3.2 + HaSa MIUI v2.11.2, Mesa v2.2 + RealICSLite r4, KernelPanic v1.25 + HyperbeamCream v4.0) I can confirm, that WiFi with WPA2+AES security works on none of them (with my Xperia Active). It only works on GB (tested with stock kernel + ROM and also Rage v3 + Hasa v5) .
Looks like I'm stuck with GB, because both ICS and JB Wifi drivers fail to work properly for me :-/.

I think you would have done it but still, have you tried factory wipe from CWM AFTER flashing the kernel? I've faced this problem sometimes but doing factory wipe after flashing the kernel helped me.

What I generally did during the tests was this:
1) Enter CWM and do a full wipe (data, cache, system, dalvik cache)
2) Flash Kernel
3) Flash ROM
4) Test WiFi
5) if the Wifi does not work -> fiddle with the ROM
- delete wlanfixed and reboot twice
- flash some wifi fixes, reboot, test
Though I did follow the instructions written for each kernel and ROM, so sometimes I did the wipes after the kernel flash.

wifi problem with cm10 rom

Hello,
I have a problem with my wifi. It doesnt work well in my own house (Thomson TG789vn router).. I am connected, but only every 10 seconds or something it really works..In all other places it works perfect only not in my own house. This started when I installed the latest version of the 2.6.32 nAa JB kernel for my xperia x8 and installed mini cm10 4.10. The strange thing is that it works on previous kernels...
I tried many things,
- reinstall cm10
- restarted router
- use different wifi channel (just random)
- edit wifi scan interval
- tried several google play apps
- downloaded and flashed a fix for wifi on jelly bean
Solutions?

Have you tried finding a replacement kernel, rebooting to recovery and flashing the kernel over the rom. I have seen alot of cases that it is just a bug in the rom, You have to understand that these are custom creations with flaws. try reverting to stock everything, checking to see if the problems still exist, if they are still there then it might point to your device itself.

[Q] Huge problem of sms on SJB

Hi everybody, (Sorry in advance for my bad English.)
I'm moderator in Sony's section of the French forum Phonandroid, so I think I'm not a big noob.
All the rest of the Phonandroid's staff don't know how solve my problem. So I dream that XDA people can help me.
I've a Xperia Neo BL unlock with test point method.
Once upon a time the ROM SBJ v7.1 who works really good on my Neo. silly But a day, after 1 week approximately the biggest problem I've never had comes.
So, the (huge) problem is :
On SJB v7.1, all kernels (with clean install of course ! ) sms works around 1 hour to 1 day then, they stop working for ever. It's writing "SENDING" but the sms is not sent or it appear like sending but I don't receve sms receving notification. In those two case, if I turn off my phone, I've error saying me that sms have not been sent.
- I've tried to wipe dalvik cache, application cache or cache but no effects.
- I've tried lot of news cleans installs of SJB (more of 15 times) but nothing.
- I've tried install (lot of times) SJB without any restoration of backups or any mods. But always same problem.
- I've tried to download SJB a new time but problem seems don't come from download process.
On stock firmware or stock based ROM (with customs kernel too), sms work like a charm.
But at all return to SJB always the same problem come back...
So it's not a material problem. And not a baseband problem I think (I'ts bb -77 in all case).
I just want have SJB.
Please, help me. This bug make me crazy.
I've post my problem on SJB thread but no answer.
You are my last chance ! :good:
Thanks in advance. (I'm ready to try any manipulation to find the solution.)
A weird problem.. may be your phone is against sjb jokes apart I think its related to your network provider..
Regards,
vishal_android freak
Yes it's really weird !
No it's not related to my network provider because if SJB bug, I flash a firmware in 5 minutes and all work perfectly. (I've try many times to flash firmware just after the bug apparition and in official firmware sms work.)
I'm desperate...
Maybe you can try some of the other jb roms out here including 4.2 4.3...
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
Yes but I like SJB... :crying:
Is it a ROM with same battery life than SJB ?
Currently I use Optimax 3.1 to expect a solution for this bug.
Sorry for double-post but, anybody got an idea ?!
I joint to this post an .zip file with 4 logcats. 2 with sms working and 2 when the bug was appeared.
I hope that can help.
I think also think it may be a problem with network provider... as far as I know I solved a issue with a acquaintance on Neo. Maybe the SIM card doesn't make good contact... so SJB becames unable to readapt the sms apk.

What kind of problem sources do you think when you say that it can come from my network provider ?
Instantly sms work again if I restore a stock based ROM. So SIM work perfectly.
So finally, it's not a material problem and I don't understand how the problem can come from my provider. In SJB sms work a little time (between 1 hour and 1 day).
Well, in my friend's case the SIM didn't make good contact probably, as it was old... I don't really know, it's a possibility.

Okay
But in my case it's a mystery. ^^
You can try SJB 4.2.2 it's also developed by harsh(like sjb 7.1)
Edit; dont know if its got anything to do with it, but i remember there is a sms limiting option in settings, security(if i remember correctly) at the bottom. Maybe this setting is messed up for you?

i forgot to mention 1 thing is the sometimes the message is already sent, but it appear sending...

Yes I think I'll try SJBX(4.2) but it seems to have bad battery compared to SJB(4.1).
It's not a problem of sms limit. I set it already at 1000 sms in 15 mintes and when we exceed the limit, we have specific message.

Hi bro
U flashed almost 150 times as i know...u tried flash stock ics to see if problem persist? Then u say its not baseband but maybe try to flash another one...then u will be 100% sure
And maybe if @percy_g2 between two builds can take a look on your logcats...if he has time it would be nice

[Q] Need a fully functional ROM that requires no modification

Hey guys,
I'm running CM11 on my Verizon XT912 right now and there are a few issues. First of all, there's this big problem with the APNs that I'm seeing a lot of people having problems with, and I'm one of them. I can't send or receive MMS. Also, the WiFi reception is exceptionally weak.
This is the third rom I've tried in the past few days. First tried AOKP, then CM10, then CM11 - all of them were very cool, but gave me critical issues.
I need advice as to which rom I can install that isn't experimental, but fully functional. I don't require much, I don't have to be running the latest and greatest. It doesn't have to be a KitKat rom, it doesn't even have to be a JB rom, it can even be an ICS rom. These are my only two needs:
A. Everything works correctly without needing corrections / adjustments / editing config files, etc.
B. The rom needs to support the theme engine and accept CM type themes.
Thanks everyone
