No you will need proof of ownership and a Samsung repair centre .
Check first did your custom rom backup efs

there is no any efs folder.
what should i do?

did you try to flash an emg2 or emg4 baseband? some have reported that this can restore network connection

i didnt try it yet,
how can i do that and where can i find this modem?

i installed the modem but nothing happend.
i tried to use azira patch but it still didnt help.

have you tried a full sock rom including mg4 or mg2 modem? if that doesnt work you may need service center
---------- Post added at 09:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:20 AM ----------
ariza patch is for serial no not imei.it does not help withj the new modems and may actually make things worse.

i tried to flash alot of roms so far, nothing helped.
the problem is the the devide was bought outside the country and there are no service center for that device..

There is nothing you can do to fix it, take to your local phone shop and ask for help.

I have the same 0000 problem.
My device is international i9300. I corrupted i'ts imei and serial number 1 day after purchase. Today I take my device to a 3rd. party technician and he solve the imei problem but serial 000000 problem remains.
I wiped data and cache after I take it back. And I did a factory reset via android menu. But still the same 0000 serial.
I backed up my efs folder to several locations and make a backup with ktool too. So what is the next step?
Should I flash the latest samsung firmware via odin amd make a full wipe after that?
Or just flash some cm10 rom.
Sorry for bad english and thanx in advance.

Hi, don't worry about bad English mine isn't so good either. Were you able to get your serial number back? If so what did you do? I have the same problem it was gone after I flashed a new rom I had lost the network and the IMEI but thanks to this site and DocHoliday77 the phone is back in order except the serial number but it looks to me that it does not have an effect on the performance. so just may let it go before I do something dumb again. If you did get it back let me know how.

Hey man,
I read the post and tried using the MG4 modem but I still unable to connect to network. I would search for the network and select my service provider, a pop up would say "registered to network" but when I try to make a call a pop would appear and say "not registered to network".
Now in my notification bar i would see a hazard sign saying: "NO SERVICE selected network (bmobile) not available" any additional direction you could give me to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance!

[Q] [Help] Phone is showing No Service!

Hi there,
problem as follows: I got a I9300 (pre-rootet and with some kind of chinese custom rom based on 4.0.4). I did not put in my simcard, but flashed it straight away with a 4.1.1 custom rom, and did the efs backup.
However, once I put in my simcard it shows no service. I have tried several roms and just restored stock recovery and stock firmware 4.1.1 but nothing has changed.
i have checked this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080076 and others, but still my phone is not having service.
I don't think that my efs partition is corrupted since when I type in those keycodes it still shows my imei. also I did a restore of my backed up efs.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

It looks like what I am looking for. However, I cannot find the files they are using
I'll keep looking... thanks
Update:
I have asked the person who gave the phone to me, and apparently it was a parallel import to china. However, I have no idea where it is from originally.
I have tried flashing a couple of different stock roms, but without success.
I have also tried to flash the chinese rom from the suggested thread, but it keeps failing when it comes to the part where it wants to install the modem.
Does anyone have an idea how to find out the origin of the phone?
I have tried Kies, entering the model number and serial, but kies does not accept the serial.
My last hope would be that I can find out which market it is from, then flash back the original stock firmware?
Any other ideas why it might show no service?
IMEI is shown, so I think efs partiotion should be still ok, right?
I'd really appreciate any help and suggestions. I am out of ideas...
Thanks

IMEI is shown as on sticker.
I have no idea where the phone is originally from - I have contacted Samsung but they were not willing to help- they say it has not been bought in NZ so they cannot help me here. Hence I dont know which modem would be the correct one. I have tried a couple of different ones, but none seems to be working.
Sim is ok, also tried like 5 other sim cards.

That's what I read in other forums now as well.
The error seems to be common after unlocking with boxes.
So I suspect that someone unlocked the phone, which messed up the efs folder. The backup I made when I received phone, must already be faulty.
I also noticed that the SN in the phone settings shows up as a different number than the one on the sticker.
I guess I have to find someone with those 'boxes" who knows what he is doing Any suggestions for Auckland, NZ?
I have been to like 5 shops but noone could help so far... THANKS

Thanks, I had tried that. Kies doesn't recognize the SN. Strangely enough SN in settings and SN on sticker are not the same. I really think seller screwed with the efs partition.
Was it working with the original Rom?
From my reading of your posts you have not changed the modem or csc that it came with?
Perhaps if you tried a 4.0.4 Rom again you might have some luck given it was probably working when you received it.
The different serial numbers are suspicious though. Presumably the one on the sticker is the correct one. Would Samsung not be able to identify the phone by the SN and tell you what the original firmware is?

When I received the phone it was not working. Hence I installed stock rom. I also tried flashing different modems, but nothing helped.
I contacted Samsung service and they said they wouldn't be able to help me because I did not purchase the phone in the country where I live in, and also cannot give me any information about where the phone was originally from.
It possible that is an imei block. If the phone is sold with a subscription and the owner sell it to an other prson without paying anymore the taxes for the phone the operator is able to block your phone using the imei.

As bought origins unknown .
Non working may be faulty and not fixable .
May have been as said blocked as its a stolen phone .
If it is I9300 then i would be flashing stock ICS firmware with modem and CSC for the country/network you are trying to use the phone on .At least then after a successful flash their can only be two reasons for not working phone hardware or IMEI .

IMEI is ok. I also called my network provider to check if IMEI is blacklisted in my country, but say also say it's not blacklisted.
Someone told me (and I also read it on other forums) that this often happens after unlocks, which are actually not successfully finished.
I will meet him tomorrow and will post an update.
Thanks for the suggestions and help so far.
Ok last update:
Indeed the phone is unlocked and something went wrong with it. Apparently, it is a common thing that the IMEI changes during unlock and then has to be restored, which often causes that problem.
The guy who helped me got it fixed. Only problem is now that I cannot flash the modem file. So have to stick with roms which come without modem. Also it seems that some are incompatible with the 'old'modem
Right now I am using AOKP and everything is working.
Thanks again for all the help and suggestions!

apn are correct as i flashed stock form sam firmware. so i dont know..
sim - i used 4 dif no luck.. all are working on other device..
what makes me worried is the serial number, that is preventing my phone to get connected i believe
so here we are... IMEI is corrupted - i was noob and i just quick checked the number on box and under the battery, but after further inspection i have spoted difference between the imei in d phone and the actual on casing / box. so its corrupted. thats why i am unable to register to network.
somehow it get corrupted during the flashing process... so now i will try to restore the imei from the scratch... i am not sure if i iwll be able to perform such a thing but i will try my best.. any tips wil be apreciated.

[Q] IMEI away without flashing

Hey all,
I have a big problem at the moment.
I plugged my phone into charge.
At the next day i i tried to start it but it was stucked on the first Bootlogo with the i9300 text.
So i entered Recovery Mode i didnt had Root or flashed anything.
It say failed to mount /efs.
So i flashed a 4.0 firmware (i had 4.1.2) then it worked again the phone booted.
But my IMEI away
I rooted my phone and looked at EFS folder but its empty lol and i enabled "show hidden files which begins with a dot."
Any solution?
I cant bring my phone to repair cuz my screen is brocken and its to expensive to repair it i dotn have money now for it
but Samsung disable Warranty without repairing the Screen lolz
Pls can someone help me if someone needs my Original IMEI which is under Battery and my Empty EFS folder PM me pls
no solution. why didn't you make a backup like all the guides day?

use app from market HC-kTool it will do everything you need. but once is lost you are pretty much ****ed
As you have a habit of breaking stuff and no warranty .
You would be best finding a non samsung phone repair shop .
But first just try a factory reset.

Re

They are not stuck on logo its not a common problem .
By its very nature this forum gets p[osts on such topics from users that have broken phones and that's on all firmware releases not just 4.1 .
Bootloop a common noob user problem from SGS1 onwards .

But the problem is i have no bootloop it stuck on this screen http://fs02.androidpit.info/userfiles/1587174/image/I9300_bootlogo.jpg its not only 4.1 firmware 4.2 isnt working too i tried everything Cyanogenmod, Stock, omega...
all 4.0 firmware are working perfect.
Problem is as already posted you have no EFS folder and no IMEI .
4.1.1 roms do not stuck on bootlogo unless broken .
You asked why 4.1.1 stick on bootlogo they dont any broken firmware can stick on bootlogo

Your phone needs motherboard replacement and rebuilded EFS folder, leave it in for warranty.

It works
Yeah !
It works the problem was that my efs wasnt mounted now i mounted it flashed 4.1 and it works
But still Fake IMEI and Serial 000000000
Kies say that my phone dont support Firmware upgrading.
Is this cuz i have a fake IMEI ?

The problem is i have no warranty :/
You cannot use Kies or OTA to update and will have to flash updates via Odin .
You may have no network connection with no IMEI but phone should work as Not A Phone .

send it to samsung and replace the board for $350, or use your s3 as a media player

my phone became sim locked after stock rom flash

hi there all - just bought an s3 from someone on gumtree - tried it with couple of different simcards and it worked fine... it had ics on it (csc xxale8) so i though i will change it to jellybean - so following a guide here i have downloaded stock firmware BTU (UK generic) and flashed it using odin. than put a sim in and boot and it asks me for sim network unlock code... any idea what is going on?
FYI i have reset the flash counter before flashing the rom and wiping data and cache
any help?
Some older methods of simlock break after flash. Also latest releases, non of these methods work anyone (the free methods).
I'd imagine you need to buy an unlock code now. If you do, get one that will refund you if it fails

I'm assuming you've flashed mg4

You root it before flash?
You make a EFS backup before flash?
Did you already check what imei shows your phone with *#60#
thanks both!
yeah flashed mg4
the ics installed when i bought it was already rooted
i have not backed up EFS prior to flash but rooted and backedup EFS after flashing JB
I have checked the IEMI before flashing which corresponds to the IMEI on the box
any one can recommend an unlocker which will guarantee unlocking or money back?
I think cellunlocker can help you but, if you already have a backup of your EFS folder try to flash others modem here in xda is an mg4 especially to work with all roms, a few days ago I try it because cyanogenmod roms have no signal and after flash that modem it love because give signal to all roms, you don't loose nothing try, before spend money.

Forget modems. This cannot help you now. You need to continue your search for a recommended unlock code provider.
I have the file but I can't post it try to find XXEMG4 modem patched, in the Web or xda developers, if no work, get the code. and remember create a backup of your EFS.

Patched modem is for Serial number 00000000 issue. It is not for anything else.
Like I have already said multiple times, there is only one option.

Not true, flashing things you do not understand can brick your phone.

This is not patched it's just a modem and nothing to do with this issue
Please dont take offense. I know you're only trying to help - but if you do not understand the issue, it's best not to give advice at all.
