Status:
- stock ICS 4.0.4 (system 1) and AUS stock JB 4.1.2 (system 2)
- removed CID
- now want to move AUS stock JB 4.1.2 from system 2 to system 1
Questions:
- Can I directly backup system 2 and restore it on system 1 ??
If AUS stock JB 4.1.2 was moved to system1
- Can I directly restore stock ICS 4.0.4 to system 1 from backup directly ?? Or need to flash with RSD ??
Thanks

- It will not locked by bootloader ?? since some articles written after upgraded to 4.1.2 can't downgrade back to 4.0.4.
- otherwise, do i still need to remove CID even installed aus jb 4.1.2 in system 1 ??
actually I want to use aus jb 4.1.2 in system 1, then flash cm10.2 to system 2 and keep backup of stock ics 4.0.4

While using Via BMM...You can do all this
4.1.2 on stock slot
& CM10.2 on webtop system partition(system 2 on BMM)
and yes you can backup your 4.0.4 for emergency!

You replace the CID becoz u change the region of the ROM that is flashed on ur phone..
E.g. a asian razr wont need to remove CID if the ROM was based up of Asian Stock system base...
but if asian razr is to be flashed with US based Rom...u need to remove CID...
i hope that clears your CID doubts
yes you can return back to stock if u need but do keep in mind to restore the CID when u do!

If you flash JB with RSD Lite then you can't go back to ICS.
But if you flash roms with BMM (with CID erased),then you can do whatever you want.

I tried this before when I first flashed to CM9, I get bootloops. Since then, I forever stick to ICS and never trying to convert back to GB although I wish to do so. I dare not and i'm lazy to deal with the bootloops.. I not sure why I get bootloops btw, some other ppl faced that as well. So I hope this brother able to convert back to GB successfully. Good luck.
To convert back to GB you have to flash an old GB bootloader for some reason after flashing the stock ROM. After that do a full wipe, everything else ended up in a bootloop for me.
Fingers crossed .

I can flash GB stock GDZKL3 after flashing this bootloader right? bootloader should flash before flashing rom, or after flashing the rom? Thanks.
I tried both options. Try flashing the bootloader at first but don't forget to uncheck "Auto-Reboot" in odin. After that you should be able to flash the stock GB ROM. Do you have a jig just in case of any problems? I remember I used my jig, but don't really know why.

after you have backup CID and your kernel you can restore them just to be sure
you can flash rom in second system (webtop partition). To switch, reboot into BMM, flash desired kernel, reboot

Hello
Like many people here with a LATAM phone or a NA phone (Rogers, Fido in Canada, Puerto Rico...) i have no patience in the update... and decided to flash all previous JB roms (china, australia, retail europe... ) to stay update and have the great Jelly Bean installed on the phone... (my CID was erased and a backup have been made ... )
Now JB is available in LATAM ... ( via the retail brasil Blur_Version.982.124.17.XT910)
Just want make a little step to step to help some people here to restore your LATAM device with the retail brasil... and if you want... restore your CID...
One... you must be rooted... and have BMM (BOOT MENU MANAGER installed)
You need 3 files...
The brazil kernel (thanks to Al936) : http://www.m1rr0r.com/kernel/bootimgg3fd3f14.zip
The brazil baseband : http://www.m1rr0r.com/bp/U_1C.76.10P.zip

Your CID...
Two...
Backup your file
Three..
Go to the bmm recovery...
Wipe all data...

Flash the radio files...
Restore the rom (deodexed) via system restore... or Install the rom (odexed) via Install zip package
Restore your cid...
Reboot...
If you choose the odexed version... your phone is now just like a default factory latam phone with JB on it (good if you need to repair your phone...or sold to noob )
:good:
Unbrick : Use the LATAM kernel for many use... exemple : Unbrick your latam device if you have flashed EMEA kernel without delete your CID... etc...
thank you. Are we able to root this version?
I have bmm on the razr... If you have bmm you can root any jb version... Just installed the supersu binary via bmm ? Need a steep to steep ?

2. There are so many custom roms avaliable. I would like to know , which rom works the best with compatibility and smooth UI ? Camera fix and etc ?

First...to which ROM is the best...depends on you're style and device. All devices aren't equal...even when they are the same variant. But I like the 4.3 ROMs.Look at my SIG to see which one I'm running today...Lol.
Now..on to you're rooting. You most definitely need to update to 4.0.4 ICS..I have a guide after you're on that version so you can root and stay stock or flash a custom ROM.But you need the ICS boot loader to flash almost all of the new jelly bean ROMs, if not all of them.I believe when you do the official update from kies it will install that boot loader.( never had to as my device was on 4.0.4 unrooted ).
Back up you're tab to you're PC before you go updating..The update might wipe sdcard, not sure. And in case the update goes side ways on ya.
Let me know if you need any help.

Getting to the safe side , the best is using traditional flashing to ICS then to JB.
I am currently rooted for HC.The ordering , I need to flash it to samsung ICS first ? which mean , I need to unroot my device ?
Or I can just flash to custom roms ICS ?
Currently , stuck at this point.Which is the correct procedure ?
Flash stock ICS first using Odin first. Then you can flash to any version you want.
