The system denies to root - HTC Desire X

So I rooted my phone two days ago and yesterday I was using GameCIH on Temple Run 2 and after adding some coins and starting another run, my phone freezed, and I tried pressing the home button and nothing but the vibration, and then the phone rebooted all by himself. After this I tried opening again GameCIH, and it says that the system denies to root. I tried opening Game Guardian, it closes automatically. Same thing with SuperSU. I tried entering the root folder, acces denied. I tried reflashing the ROM, nothing happened. I am using mySENSEdx RX3.0. Someone told me that it looks like I lost my root. I am kind of new to this rooting thing so if you can please help. And another thing, when I tried connecting my phone to my computer, the usb debbug doesn't work. It tells me that the device is not connected but I can access the sdcard and the external memory of my phone. Thanks for whoever can help.

Did u try to reroot it again by doing the same process again? Did u use that app successfully before or is it frst time that u used it?
I had once similar problem, and when i lost root, i flashed superuser zip, went to market, installed superSU, installed it in /system and that was it
Sent from my precious!! HTC DX

I didn't tried to reroot my phone and I successfully used that apps before. I do not want to reroot it because I have to wipe everything again and I have some things that I 100% lose during the process and I can't do a backup or something.

Works great, thank you

imo its best to wipe your phone to factory stock, boot it up, download OCLF from the market and root thru that app. its probably the easiest way to root.then reinstall your apps and install the lagfix if you wish

Superuser and Gingerbread Question

Hey everyone, I've been running gingerbread since the leak came out, but failed to notice a couple of things. Since I've flashed over GB (BamfREMIX 2.0.6), i noticed today that I am unable to use apps such as drocap and wireless tether and also my superuser icon is gone.
I know I'm still rooted (S-Off Hboot too) because I can enter recovery anytime and flash themes/mods as I do all the time. Is there a way to get my superuser back so I can access drocap and wireless tether and a few root-required apps? It's acting as if I'm not rooted when I try and open particular apps. I'm not sure where to go from here...
Thanks!
You can get superuser off the market.

Did you reboot your phone after installing?
Did you do all of the basic things to ensure that the flash went correctly, such as wiping and checking the MD5?

Remove root. Help need please

Hi,
I am rooted on my S3 and all is good. However, my Father also has an S3 and last week he was talked into rooting it by his Grandson. All went well but long story short he was not happy with having a rooted phone so has decided to remove root. He has now done so by following various guides. He used Triangle away which he says went successfully and has used Odin to put the latest stock firmware on the phone which again he says went successfully. I was not there when he did all this but phone seems all good.
Except one thing. He has tried to install a couple of apps he had before rooting. Barclays bank app and Sky Go app. After installation these apps are saying they will not work on a rooted phone, but it's not rooted any more. I have booted into recovery using Volume down, power and home buttons and it says custom firmware / rom, I can't remember exact wording, but it says no. Also in the phone menu where a rooted phone says modified in device status it says normal or whatever it should say. Again can't remember exactly but all looks like no root present.
Anyone got any ideas on this? As I am rooted on my S3 and never un-rooted it yet, I do not know if he should have done something else. Will he have to root again to run triangle away or anything else. Or can this be fixed as the phone is at present?
Thanks for any help guys.
Cheers, Rich

One basic question..are you still able to go into recovery..vol up+power+home..if yes you are still rooted...you need to find your stock firmware and flash it via odin
check if it was a stock firmware your father flashed orcustom ROM o.follow this guide to do it again

Hi,
Just tried that and the S3 will not go into recovery via volume up, power and home. Tried several times and it just powers up as normal. He has just tried his banking app and it's telling him the phone is rooted. I'm stumped on what to do.

Sounds like maybe triangle away didnt properly remove the count, was the firmware he downloaded the official one for his phone? Was it previously branded or anything like that?
go supersu and click remove root

Hi,
He has superSu on the phone. Presumably it has downloaded from the play store when restoring the phone. However, he tried to uninstall it which just removed the updates. Couldn't go any further. It is now asking for updates which he has done. But when he tries to launch Super SU it says no apps configured and won't go any further. I think the fact that super su is on the phone, the apps are thinking it is rooted. I am doing this all over the phone so can't see what's happening.
I'm wondering if the way to go now would be another factory reset and when restoring everything, try not to let play store instal super su. Would this be the way to go, or can we get super su off the phone without a reset?
Cheers, Rich
Try uninstalling super su with titanium backup. Then factory reset. Are you sure you have flashed a stock ROM and not a rooted one. This doesnt sound right.

Hi,
Trying to do these things with him over the phone ain't easy. I may just go and get the phone and do it myself.
He does have supersu on the phone and it is working, well it's installed anyway but obviously does not do the root things as the phone is un-rooted. There is an option in supersu settings to remove root but will this work as the phone is not rooted? Question is how on earth do I remove supersu. Do i need to re-root and remove it that way?
Cheers, Rich

[Q] No app root access after HTC unlock.

So I did the HTC unlock after receiving my Asurion claim (1.19 Hboot) a couple months ago. I haven't messed around with it much because I've been busy irl. I installed TWRP, Fresh, and just recently the "deSensed ICS ~ Dialer, Tumblers & Apps! -Updated Mean4.4 & Goodies2.11!" theme. Now I've been thinking I'd really like to just flash CM10 now that it's starting to mature so I installed TB and it wasn't able to gain root access (tried a couple different SU apps). I checked several other apps and none were able to gain root (ES file explorer, Quick Boot, Root Explorer, etc). I originally thought that the issue was the fact I flashed Fresh over the stock rom after just wiping Cache but I just wiped everything (Cache, Dalvik, System, Factory Reset, in that order), flashed a newly downloaded Fresh rom, and downloaded TB and got the same "Root Access: Failed" error. I'm at a loss. I'm running Fresh, I have TWRP installed, but I have no root access. Any help would be appreciated.

try root checker basic from the playstore to confirm you are rooted but it doesn't make sense the you can have twrp and flash fresh without root
Sounds like your Su binaries may have got messed up. Try using only one Su and see if that works. You may need to flag Su in twrp

I had the SU that comes in Fresh installed and it wasn't working so last night I installed a different one from the market, that didn't work either, uninstalled. I tried updating binaries on one (couldn't find the option to do it on the other) and that worked fine but it failed to gain root.
Just now I fixed Permissions via TWRP, deleted the SU that comes with Fresh via TWRP, uninstalled and reinstalled the other SU with the same results.
Try going into su and check grant permissions automatically and make sure fastboot is unchecked.....see if that helps

I tried re-locking and doing the HTC unlock again. I restored my Fresh nandroid and I have the same results. I'll try re-locking and unlocking again when I get a chance and this time I'll see if SU works before restoring.
I have same issues. Adaway and wifi tether both say I have no root. Running meanRom 4.6 with s-on. Will be watching thread for hopeful fix.

Can I have a link to a flashable one, the one from market isn't cutting it?
Hit it twice and make it count.
Unlocked does not give you root. It enables you to install a Rom with root access or install superuser. If you are unlocked and have installed a custom Rom with root support, you should already have superuser in the app drawer. Update whatever superuser app you have to the newest, and reboot.

[Q] Tmobile OTA 10g-20f issues

Done a bunch of digging, haven't found anything that really helps me, so....
I previously rooted the phone with Lelus' guide a few months ago. Loved it, worked great. A couple nights ago, SuperuserSU told me it needed to "update the binary." Phone restarts, and when it comes back up, it's factory reset. I had been putting the OTA update off because I didn't want to lose my root. Even though I had Voodoo installed, I was doubtful.
All the recent posts make it sound like it's a hell of a lot easier to root the 20F update, so I decided to just let it go... but it won't take, I keep ending up with the red exclamation point and it keeps factory resetting into 10g. Only difference is SuperuserSU is still installed, and I think that's why the OTA won't take. SU won't give me the option to uninstall - I've completely reset the phone 10 times today, waited for the OTA to show up, and the same results over and over.
I went and downloaded CWM, but it did me no good because a) I'm not rooted anymore and b) it says there isn't a version for this device available. I've tried to start the Lelus method over, but the phone and my laptop aren't cooperating with each other now. I've even gone so far as to re-download Voodoo and delete the backup file, to try and get the OTA to push through. Nothing is working right.
I'm pretty close to just smashing it with a hammer and paying the insurance deductible for a new one, and starting over. Somebody has to have a fix.
Superuser is not the cause. Did you install busybox, linked2sd, overclock, CWM, or anything that would alter the build.prop or system?
Are you sure you don't have root? Go to playstore and uninstall the app then reinstall it. I had the same problem on another phone and that worked for me.

I never got link2sd to work, so I uninstalled it a while ago. I didn't really need it after I cleaned up the bloatware. Busybox was uninstalled before I tried the OTA, and it won't let me reinstall it now - says I'm not rooted. My Voodoo backup didn't work, and it also said I wasn't rooted. I'm trying to get CWM to work, so I can reflash - but everything except SU has been uninstalled either manually or via factory resets...
I just went to play store to uninstall SU - same message, said it needed to "update the binary" - I updated the app, then tried to uninstall...it only uninstalled the update. I'm going to try CWM's Superuser and disable SuperSU, I'm just throwing darts at a map though.
uh...
now it says I'm rooted again. I'm so confused..............
Good, flash this clean ROM for 10g. You deleted bloatware? That's your problem.
