I was wondering if there is a way to enable the button on Bluetooth headsets to work for voice dialing and TTS apps for stock/stock-based ROMs for Root Users?

Does anybody know of a good rom that supports Voice Dialing and Search? I am currently using Energy Rom and it does not support Voice Dialing or Voice search. On T-mobile stock rom, you can assign the send key to Voice Search and Dial. Is there a non-oem rom that supports this feature?

I'm pretty sure this feature is only enabled for android phones, and as far as I know has never existed for winmo. If you want this feature simply put android on you hd2.
For sure, latest Artemis V42 ROM (based on new 3.14 HTC ROM) supports Voice Dial via Cyberon Voice Speed Dial.
I've tested this on my HD2 with my old Motorola H605 bluetooth Headset.
I'm able to start voice recognition with headset button and speak through headset microphone the name of the contact to dial or the application I want to start.
Moreover all system sounds (also MP3 music or IGO8 voice) are routed to headset.
In this case the sound quality is low (H605 is not an AD2P device) but it can be recognized very well.

I have a problem that when I searched for solution, I found that many other people have this problem !
I often use my bluetooth handsfree device , I press the botton to activate Voice Dialer or Cyberon Voice Speed Dial, all sounds like ring, music, notifications, etc... are gone !!! all volumes are on high and active and profile in NOT silent... but there is NO SOUND at all !
the only way is to reboot my phone ! I installed many different ROMs and the problem still exists but one Sense ROM named imilka's Desire HD v2.0
any solutions ?!

Did you ever find a fix? I get the same from choice dialer and google voice dialer. Vlingo does not have this issue, but it does not work through your bluetooth when you press the bluetooth button.
I recently purchased a Plantronics Legend Bluetooth headset, it has 2 buttons on it, one of them when held auto opens Androids default voice commands. This works ok but is no where as intuitive as some of the other voice control apps such as utter, I am trying to find a way to link the shortcut for utter to that button or a way to have Android launch Utter instead of voice commands. I am currently on the newest stock gingerbread rom for Droid X and am rooted.
On Xperia P stock firmware, I notice that my bluetooth headsets (older, tried and proven Jabra 250 and Parrot CK3000 evolution) allow me to pick up and hang up phone calls with the button(s). However, using the "call pickup" button does not activate voice dialing like I'm used to with other devices, or even with CM9.
Is there a way to hack my desired Bluetooth usage (i.e. start voice dialing/voice search) into the device without using CM9? I've tried several apps like Vlingo but they don't work either.
I've noticed similar behaviour on the Xperia Arc by the way....
Hi, I use a Samsung tablet and anytime I use my Bluetooth headset button it automatically takes me to the s voice app instead of letting me choose. if I freeze the s voice app using titanium backup then I'm able to choose my Bluetooth program. There are no defaults to clear for S Voice. Is there a way to deny its Bluetooth permissions or force a default Bluetooth device app? Thanks in advance.
